  2. If johnson and Noble can play together, why ca't lampard and gerrard?
  3. Would have prefered Pearson to keep working part time with England U21. Through this he will know more players, and get exposed to more new ideas (however bad they are).
  4. West Brom - The Chelsea of Championship Well aware the turnover of players and the quality they are bringing in, but didn't realise they spend that much!! Tininho £ 230000 Shelton Martis £ 50000 Craig Beattie £ 1250000 Felipe Teixeira £ 600000 Leon Barnett £ 2500000 Pele £ 1000000 Carl Hoefkens £ 750000 James Morrison £ 1500000 Chris Brunt £ 3000000 Bostjan Cesar Ishmael Miller Except that West Brom play swashbuckling all out attacking football in contrary to Chelsea
  5. With so many rich fellas fighting to enter the realm of Premiership, the off field football entertainment is now as much as the on field entertainment. Not only these new owners are rich, they are mightily rich who have proven themselves in the trully dog eat dog social rat race. There can only be one winner, and a few runner ups. It makes you wonder out of all who will succeed in the long run, and who won't? For years we were crying out loud for Shepherd to fcuk off. Too sad he is leaving at the wrong time, when English football is being transformed and revolutionised. Had he left a few years earlier we could get a head start but now, all we could pray is that Ashley as an Englishman has more English football knowledge than the others. The Guardian
  6. No Lescott? And on what basis is Alan Smith selected? One match as midfielder for Newcastle, or next to no match as striker (in the past too) for Man U?
  7. Serve the certain super uber dooper Newcastle United supporters who look down at other clubs whic couldn't fill their stadiums right.
  8. What do people think about Roque Santa Cruz? I haven't seen much of him. but he has already scored a couple. It is ridiculous how Mark Hughes is always able to get decent strikers. Roberts, McCarthy, Rigters (apparently Hughes has been tracking him for a long time before the European U21 tournament, hence him getting Rigters, who is then much sought after, cheaply), Roque Santa Cruz. And their youth product Matt Derbyshire. He also managed to make Bellamy score a handful for him.
  9. Do people care? Seems like there are many people who care enough to tell everyone else (s)he doesn't care. Congratulations to Beckham. All the best in USA.
  10. I do not hate Craig Bellamy, I don't rate him as a player don't rate him as a person. But whether I rate him is totally irrelevant here. Not only he has nothing to do with me, I hardly talk about Craig Bellamy in this forum. On the contrary there seem to be a few die hard Bellamy fans here who thought that Shearer couldn't live a decent football career without Bellamy, who bring out the names of Bellamy from time to time. Hence my comment: Shearer is not rated by a few here. It doesn't matter what my opinions on Bellamy are.
  11. Ross Wallace has been very good as left back for Sunderland since he converted to that position. He was excellent against Spurs. He is left winger by trade and indeed fill in the position once Richardson left. I don't think that Sunderland are interested in signing another left back. Once Baines made his mind up to join Everton Sunderland were never linked with any other left back again. THe secret guarding in Sunderland is terrible. Sunderland were heavily linked with Halford, Baines, Nugent, Chopra, Richardson, Gordon and Mido. If Keane is interested in Harte all the papers will be reporting the "rumour".
  12. Some of the more famous players, 28 in total. Definitely a very large squad. The middle of midfield is ridiculous, with Gerrard, Alonso, Mascherano, Sissoko and Leiva all vying for a place. 3 DF Steve Finnan 4 DF Sami Hyypiä 5 DF Daniel Agger 6 DF John Arne Riise 7 MF Harry Kewell 8 MF Steven Gerrard (captain) 9 FW Fernando Torres 10 FW Andriy Voronin 11 MF Yossi Benayoun 12 DF Fábio Aurélio 14 MF Xabi Alonso 15 FW Peter Crouch 16 MF Jermaine Pennant 17 DF Álvaro Arbeloa 18 FW Dirk Kuyt 19 FW Ryan Babel 20 MF Javier Mascherano 21 MF Lucas Leiva 22 MF Mohamed Sissoko 23 DF Jamie Carragher (vice-captain) 25 GK José Manuel Reina 29 DF Gabriel Paletta 30 GK Charles Itandje 33 MF Sebastián Leto 38 FW Craig Lindfield 40 GK David Martin 42 FW Nabil El Zhar 48 DF Emiliano Insúa (on loan from Boca Juniors)
  13. No. Everyone rates Shearer. Well, everyone except KingDawson. And the stick Shearer gets is generally because he has/had far too much power at the club, and perhaps that he should have retired earlier instead of keeping potentially more useful players out of the team. NO. A few N-O fanatics think that Shearer was good only because of the almighty Craig saviour Bellamy. In other words Shearer was shite.
  14. No way. Everyone everwhere knows fatty is s***! No, a few friends of mine (non Newcastle supporters) reckon he is solid useful consistent full backs for us. I am serious.
  15. Anyone read Lawrie Sanchez's comments that he asked his players to close Lehnman down because he is prone to error? He might well be right, but it is very Roeder-esque to tell everyone your preparation for the match. Good managers guard their secrets tightly, occasionally telling meaningless bits and pieces to satisfy the journalists. Only the mediocre and inexperienced will volunteer to gloat. Also, anyone read Dave Kitson's interview after the match? He said that Coppell's instructions for him just before he came on was "show passion on the pitch, stop them playing and try to sneak a goal." I thought it is a very succint instruction. Kitson came in and showed his infectious passion. Granted he went over the top for that challenge, but the spirit of Reading players were upheld if not spurred even more. Had Kitson not been sent off, the vital reminder to sneak a goal might well result in a cruel counter attack goal by Reading in the dying minutes. Fair play to reading. They didn't show any flair but they are as organised and purposeful as usual. And mistake by Ferguson for not naming any striker as sub (Nani, O'Shea, Fletcher, Kuzscak, Pique) Another thing. I noticed that Reading players and Sunderland players circled together arms on each other before the match. Surely it is not the only way to boost team spirit, but Reading and Sunderland showed tremendous courage and tenacity, and reaped just rewards respectively.
  16. If that's true than people's constant ridicule of him seem very harsh. But then the public don't know his private medical condition.
  17. And Sheperd's parting gift for us was another Champions League and Europe mackems.gif
