    Joelinton

Shola Ameobi flying up and down the wing with a demolished hip was a sight to behold as well.
  2. Bournemouth and West Ham catching up as things stand. A late scrappy goal to Burnley would do nicely.

shots from where? is he getting 2 or 3 good chances per game? is he fuck i agree 1 goal is poor overall of course, but the lad is young and new to the league, he looks utterly shot already It's like people expect Ba or Cisse in the 5th season levels of efficiency in front of goal. It is simply unheard of. Look at goals/attempts at any top striker in the world. They all miss a lot of chances every game. Old article from 2018 but point still stands: https://www.planetfootball.com/quick-reads/comparing-the-conversion-rate-of-the-top-10-scorers-in-europe/
  4. Brighton win and a loss to us tomorrow would do nicely
  5. I'm in this boat. Fully expecting the team to get a win against all odds, despite of Bruce, to secure PL status and plaudits from match going consumers and pundits.
  6. Why? He is exactly what the match going fans deserves, and exactly what we need to turn the club into something that doesn't finance itself while providing global exposure for SD. I hope Bruce stays as long as possible.
  7. He's such a likeable character. Wish he has good consultation that recommends what is best for his development in the long term and don't sign anything this club puts forward to him.
  8. Almost every goal is conceeded due to a mistake by somebody. It's only natural that some of those mistakes will be made by the keeper. It is inevitable, and every goal keeper in the world make them.
  9. Robert would be very hit and miss. He really frustrated the team on off days where he thought being anywhere over the half way line on the opposition half was a goal scoring opportunity while having 100% hit rate on the closest defenders head on corners. For consistency and precision Robben, Van Persie, Ben Arfa, David and Bernardo Silva, Ozil and Giggs were/are all better. Maybe it's because I watched him more than I've watched any of the others that my judgement is a bit harsh, but unless the criteria is who had hardest left footed shot I wouldnt have him in my top 5.
  10. It's imperative for our relegation chances that we lose this. It looks likely since they are in good form while we are not. In other words we will scrape a 1-0 victory we have no right to win and essentially guarantee that we stay up.
  11. That's for the club and player to negotiate tbh. Reckon many will after this.
  12. Someone should screenshot some of the feedback to his article in here and send them to him on twitter
  13. Only thing I appreciate about that is that I didn't have to visit their web page to read it. Thanks 54

    If we go down ...

Been praying for relegation ever since Rafa left. Best thing that can happen to the club. Even better if Bruce stays on to attempt getting promoted as he'll fail even more spectacularly the more Rafa coached players are taken away from him. Hope Dubs, Schar, Lejeune, Lascelles, Staffs, ASM and Almiron all leave and prospers with new, better clubs.
  15. If we disregard that Crystal Palace had 7 to 1 shots on goal, and 6 to 2 shots outside of goal compared to Newcastle, can we just appreciate for a minute that this is the closest equivalent to Bruce getting Bruce'd this season?
  16. Charnley will probably attempt to negotiate a new contract with worse terms in exchange for another extra year or something and then trigger the extension right before the contract expires after failing miserably with the negotiations making Fernandez disillusioned with the club and his performance levels drops as a result. Everybody loses. Job done.
  17. Man I hope Norway manages to qualify for the Euros. First time in 20 years I'm looking forward to seeing the national team play with players like Ajer, Berge, Ødegård, Haaland, King as the spine in the team and first time since Rafas last match I'm actually looking forward to watching a match of football.
  18. This is how Alan Pardew achieved 5th place with us. Defend and hope Ben Arfa or Cisse does something they shouldn't really be allowed to do. He quickly fell out with Hatem, Papisse awarded himself an onfield retirement and 5th place was never in sight again. These blokes are staggeringly incompetent. Was this before or after Pardew started playing him as a right winger in order to use Ba or Ameobi up front?
  19. Same with Schar. And Lejeune And the Longstaffs
  20. A part of me wish they just made an exclusive super league so we can start to watch a more fair and balanced Premier League. Maybe I'm giving the general football fan base too much credit these days, but I'd like to think that the super league would fail massively.

    Ki Sung-gone

Fair assessment. He did well when we just needed someone in the middle to tighten up the passing a bit to relieve pressure, but in PL terms he was weak and slow and offered little else.
