I was about to say "good player, but very injury prone", but it seems he's been fit all season, only that he hasn't played any and not even made the bench for a lot of games. Norwich last game was his first full 90 since 15th September. Did his last long term injury break him or something? He looked pretty fucking good to me before he got an injury year or two ago and Matip cemented the second CB spot for himself.

It's not good, but saying it like that makes it sounds a lot worse than it is. The last competitive game he won was at the end of May, then a month and a half without any matches. He won 3 friendlies in July & August. Between middle of October and beginning of February he was without a job. While in management (discounting friendlies & summer period) he has not won a competitive football game in 3 months.

If we maintain the same form next season - getting through a whole season without losses & qualifying for the CL (on current form we're 4th in last 5 matches) we can sign and bench pretty much anyone for all I care tbh

Weird take. They bring something unique to the league, have a good fan base and rich history. The league would be much poorer without them....provided it isn't at the expense of us going down of course.

I can't remember the reasoning behind it, but in the Norwegian studio yesterday Burn got a big part of the blame for West Hams goal as he dropped the defensive line much earlier than anyone else in the team which somehow resulted in Dawson getting the free header.

I'd love that too, but seeing as he wanted to move when Villa signed Digne, I can't see him wanting to have the role he left Villa for here.

Not knocking his performance today, but it's very meh the passes stat when the opposition has 10 players in their own half, with Burn and Schar and occasionally Dubravka/Targett/Krafth/Shelvey playing monkey in the middle with Antonio for large parts of the game.

Why would any club give him potentially crippling amount of funds to buy players when they know he'll fuck off in 2 years anyway.

Think it was @neesy111who pointed out pre-match that it's no good starting him in matches which seems to be spot on. He'll always be a decent option off the bench against tired legs with his pace & directness though. Anyway, he worked hard today & next game ASM will be back.

Seems like Toney is back for this. He was touch & go for today. Manager expects Eriksson to be involved as well. Still think we'll win. Players must be fired up for this after the 3-3 we should have won.
