Newcastle United v Oxford United 25/1/2020 FA Cup 4th round
Conjo replied to Just a propheteer's topic in Football
We should under normal circumstances be able to afford playing a weaker side to give fringe players and youth prospects first team experience when playing the likes of Oxford...but this is Newcastle United... We'll probably lose anyway. -
Option to buy for £20m

What is it?? Who is it? Assume he's a former player or something since everyone knows he's married with someone other than the woman in the gif.
-
1-0 wins against Tottenham, Man Utd and Chelsea. While all of those teams are to a degree not performing to expectations this season, those are 3 incredibly lucky wins we had no right getting. Sun shining out of Bruce's ass. Can't believe it.

Fucking jammy bastards

What’s Ballbesittelse? Possession? Yeah Basically Bruce currently has the lowest ever possession since they started recording it in the PL, and naturally also the lowest possession of all recent Newcastle managers.

Just grabbed a couple of screen shots from the Norwegian PL studio: https://imgur.com/a/ek7VAQt https://imgur.com/iuKFLJf

Fernandez easily my favorite player this season.

It probably shows the Bournemouth players are low in confidence. Looked like an impulse thing where he didn't have time to think twice before making a decision. If he hadn't caught the ball it would have been goal. Probably thought it was better to save and hope for the penalty to be saved/missed. Class save tbf

At this point I'd just give him a free role to do whatever he wants with Almiron on the left, Joelinton on the right. Whoever is fit between Carroll, Gayle and Muto up top.
-
Hope the reason he hasn't signed a new contract yet is because he wants to leave for something better in the summer.
-
Obviously they do I'm not disputing that Sheffield United are doing some good preventative work. Was just meant as a side comment to an additional reason why they haven't had many muscle injuries. Fast players get more muscle injuries than slow players.
-
They don't have many rapid/fast players either besides Mousset (who aren't one of the regular starters), which are normally the ones that experience muscle injuries.

I've stopped watching football with the sound on. All commentators are awful rent-a-cliches with zero knowledge of the game, the clubs and usually have bias towards one of the teams playing. There's a few female former and current internationals that has been part of the studio broadcast in Norway and they have been an absolute joy to listen to. Way more knowledgable and objective than the men.

You’re so weird. That article isn’t a slight on rafa, Abeid is a good player. Yeah Lee Ryder doing articles every day on players Rafa sold is a pure coincidence You'd think Ivan Toney and Abied turned out like Zidane not banging in goals in league 1. Almost as if they found their level Lee. What about selling Xabi Alonso because he wanted Gareth Barry instead? It’s called being forced to sell to raise money. He didn’t have the luxury of Mourinho under Abramovich of not needing to sell to buy. Aye but specifically selling Xabi Alonso to get Gareth Barry? It wasn’t it was to strengthen other areas of the team. He had Mascherano and Gerrard he thought Barry would be a good utility player to cover multiple positions. In an ideal world he would have wanted to keep a player he named as one of his best ever signings but he wasn’t living in a Abramovich world. What multiple positions does Gareth Barry play? Center midfield and? Im sure he started his career as a LB. Also played CB and had his break through season at Villa as a left midfielder.

Still less than 1 in 6 goal record for a winger doesn't make them worth 80m. 1 in 2 or 3 then maybes. We paid €25m for a 1 in 20 goal record winger. 80m sounds about right.

"We've had a meeting with the club to help them gather input on how to sell more tickets and increase attendance" Thanks NUST.

If I find a track suit like that on Amazon I'm buying it immediately.

Not one bit surprised. Joke of an organisation.

Not long ago Murray came out in an interview and said "I am what I am". Seems a perfect fit for Bruce's "it is what it is".
-
It's so pointless hurling abuse at Bruce. Just pray he makes it as excruciating as possible for the dimwit fans that still go to the matches.

You can compare numbers all you want. The squad is absolutely buggered and quite clearly in worse shape than it was at any point under Rafa. As evidenced by the continued selection of injured players and the small matter of HALF HIS FUCKING TEAM HAD FALLEN TO BITS by half time the other day. Christ. I won't even read that crap. Just want to say the "stats" may be skewed in someones favor by playing slightly injured players while other more sensible managers would rest them as a precaution.
