From the games I've watched I always feel Brighton has been a bit hard done by. They play decent football, but maybe it's a bit naive to play that style until they have more quality in the team.
-
He definitely isn't, but I can easily see him say it anyway
-
Tbh I could totally see Bruce saying the same. It's just another way of saying "go out there lads, do your best and work hard" without any sort of plan. It might have worked 30+ years ago if you had the best players. Not so much in 2021 with a below average squad.

There is no #BruceOut shit. But nice try to deflect blame to the fans. Did you even care to see one post above mine? I'm not deflecting any blame either, just saying it's pointless and shouldn't be a thing anyone cares about.

Unless Rafa is willing to come back, and Ashley is willing to give him the same budget as Bruce has had without interfering with whom he choses to buy and sell, then there's no point starting any #BruceOut shit. It'll be the exact same shit coming back in again, rinse and repeat in 12-18 months.

Werner came to the PL with a good record, and looked very dangerous early on when he was used as the main striker. Haven't watched much of Chelsea for a few months, but get the impression he is used more out wide now? If used correctly i think he'll deliver. Wrote this on Havertz back in september: https://www.newcastle-online.org/forum/index.php?topic=102957.msg7316002#msg7316002 Not much has changed since then. He did really well at his former club

Going soley on accomplishments at previous club. Maybe I should have clarified that.

so it WAS him? Wrote this in the match thread: Inspiring instructions.

Feels like its partly my fault for captaining kdb this round.

Who's the loon on the sideline that is constantly screaming "UP! UP!" and what sounds like "xxx GO GET HIM"? Is that what the tactical genius Bruce can offer the team today? Edit: for a few seconds when we had the ball the same bloke was shouting "PASS! PASS!"

Werner and Havertz buys are starting to look awfully bad. Both are obviously great players but both of them should play up top instead of being shoehorned into unfamiliar positions.
-
Exactly right Great read until you come to the replies, with people like Jay Jay and Paul Anthony piping up with the standard nonsense you hear from people who for some reason didnt like Benitez.
-
Shelvey, Hayden and Longstaff could get some game time at Burnley, Sheffield, WBA and Fulham, but they wouldnt be guaranteed starters. They'd struggle to get in any other team though.

That Essien goal is freakish.
-
At this point it can't all be down to Bruce. He should still be able to do basic things that aren't reliant on system or strategy.
-
Ba ahead of Rondon and Wilson easily. Wilson is a better option than Rondon under a manager like Bruce. Rondon is a better option than Wilson under a manager like Rafa.

Well now I'm just feeling sad....again...

I never understand posts like these, "our 13 next games feature teams in the same league we play in?!?!?!, how can we ever get points from teams in the same league we play in?! We'll easily get 12+ points from those matches, and nobody will understand how (rightly so), as per usual.

I'd love to see an interview with him about this. I'd love to hear what he thinks about that spell. Why he thinks he played so good, and why he thinks he wasn't able to replicate that form any other period of his career. It's not like what he did on the pitch was luck, like purple patches average strikers can find themselves in. He was bossing the midfield on a consistent basis for months against high level opponents. It's not like he was getting carried by his team mates, as he was the one that did the work to enable his team.

I understand Merinos desire to move on. He moved from Dortmund to get regular game time, and to then be sidelined by fucking Shelvey and Diame (granted in good form) I'd be getting restless pretty fucking quick too, but man I wish he had kept his cool for a bit longer and stayed on.

Had most of the matches at the end of last season and beginning of this on in the background while doing other stuff, but haven't watched any of the last 5-6 matches. My father wanted to see the matches since he couldn't go to the pub anymore after they locked down in Spain again, so I lent him my subscription. I didn't have the heart to tell him it will only let one unit watch at a time, as he wouldn't have accepted it if he didn't think I was able to watch too Kinda glad though, as my interest is close to non-existant and mainly use it to watch other matches.

The 94/95 team when they had the likes of Linighan, Morrow, Kiwomya, Selley, McGoldrick, Hartson, Hillier & Dickov just before Bergkamp came along was pretty rotten, like. They still had Seaman, Bould, Keown, Dixon, Winterburn, Adams, Merson and Wright. They have some technically good players now, but they lack a solid, reliable spine in the team to get the best out of their flair players. Back then it was the other way around. It's obviously easier to turn things around if you have a good foundation so no matter if it's Arteta or anyone else it will be a hell of a job. Dare I say impossible within the time board and fans will expect?

Forgot he was playing until you mentioned him. Same as against West Ham then. Another assist and goal incoming!

Has there ever been a season where 3 teams have not won a single game in the first 9 rounds?

¨ Doesn't this apply to every England manager since SBR?
