  1. Sad but true. Really feel like a kick to the nuts considering Chelsea and Man City (x2) owners got approved and now all of a sudden member clubs actively try to prevent other members from being bought just to protect their own interests.
  2. Wow. I'm surprised, but not surprised. Exclusively reading the skysports report and the quotes, it simply seems as the investors were not going to hold up a massive amount of money that could be invested and grow elsewhere instead of being dicked around by the PL for an unlimited amount of time. Unless anything else has been reported by credible sources close to the deal, it doesn't look like Ashley is to blame for this one but rather the PL / member clubs. Shame that they have the power they do, and that NUFC as a business can't be bough and sold like any other business. I'm too attached to this forum to leave entirely, but won't be watching football or taking notice of rumours/transfers, participating in FPL or anything from now on until the club is owned by someone that wants and tries to make it as good as it can be. Just cba with it anymore.
  3. Do MBS have a track record of assasinating foreign business men when deals he tries to make falls through?
  4. Release clause, plus any PL team can pay wages higher than Ajax. He’s been there 19 years and maybe needs to test himself elsewhere (or get more money). Haven't played much last two seasons either by the looks of it.
  5. Bit too early to tell imo. He transformed Villa first season in charge, and despite struggling this season after some heavy investment, he still bested two teams that's been in the PL the last 5 seasons. While they spent quite heavily last summer they also have a lot of their championship players who probably isn't good enough for this league still featuring for them. Would be harsh to sack him now.
  6. I really like Dasilva at Brentford. Can get up and down, mobile af and an eye for goal through the middle. Many of the qualities we've been missing in midfield for ages. Agreed (although only from watching one match against Swansea), Dasilva looks like a great talent.
  7. Good persons can make bad choices and bad persons can make good choices. At the end of the day Bruce is a shit manager. Couldn't care less how he is behind the scene with his close friends.
  8. Good for the competitiveness of the PL that West Ham and Villa stays up. People always complain that the "league is shit this year" (swear I read this at least once every year ), well next year with big clubs like WBA and Leeds back up, and with big clubs like West Ham and Villa staying up at the expense of smaller clubs like Watford and Bournemouth the likelihood of a tougher league next season is vastly higher.
  9. Aston Villa is a more interesting team than Watford. Hope things stays as they are now.
  10. 32 year old who's barely played the last three seasons. Big risk imo if they are spunking a big part of their wage budget on him.
  11. Or Fulham. Agree. Brentford only team out of the play off teams I'd be interested to see in the PL now that Forest is out.
  12. Still one game to go. Shows you how big belief he has in getting anything from it.
  13. Hey, at least it means Bruce won't better our point tally from last season.
  14. Got to give Moyes some credit for picking up Soucek, Bowen and sticking Antonio up front. Those three seem to be saving them this season.
  15. Why can't the world just unfollow and ignore people like that so their shit take is irrelevant.
  16. He had the name to become a great at least
  17. Upson? Good shout. However, he was bought from Luton for £2m at 18 years old in 1997. Although he was decent for Birmingham, I'm not sure you can class him as one of their great talents. Probably the best CB they have somewhat produced in recent years, but that's not saying much. Birmingham-Upson would probably get into their side today though.
  18. His body has been Geremi'ed
  19. Be surprised if Maximin survives this match without an injury. They're clearly targeting him for rough treatment.
  20. It would be a pretty shitty move by the PL if they didn't, and ended up approving the takeover after.
  21. Good news. Getting rid of the average/rubbish players has to be a priority. That wouldn't leave us with many players though
  22. Very honest of the club to post "highligts" as soon as this Was about to turn on the match after ~10 minutes. Saw we were already under 0-1. Started watching Wham - Burnley instead, fell asleep after a couple of minutes. Woke up 23:30 saw the score. Happy with my evening.
