  1. Leeds ownership has changed 4 (5?) times since 2003 or 2004 though. Crap owners eventually have to sell. That's better imo than potentially 14+ more years of Ashley. Bring on the chancers!
  2. Yup. Possibly a third and fourth too.
  3. I couldn't care less whether Bruce stays or leaves as long as Ashley owns the club. I don't see a takeover happening until it costs Ashley his own money to keep it running, and that won't be possible as long as the club is in the PL.
  4. Agree. Leeds should go all in to get him if we're relegated. Also think Wolves would suit him well if they use him similarly to how Rafa used him.
  5. You forgot the "it's the only way I am able to bond with my father/grandfather".
  6. Deserves to lose the 3 pts when subbing Bowen for Noble in 2021.
  7. Bored rigid of reading this kind of shit now. There is plenty hatred to go around all the cunts. Bruce shouldn’t escape because of Ashley. Thing is it's not even remotely proportional to who's most to blame for how the club currently is. Reading Bruce hate is not only boring but repetitive and at times even disgusting. On top of that it is also completely pointless.
  8. Is it only me that is indifferent to Steve Bruce, and couldn't care less who the manager is, and genuinely hope he stays as that is the most likely path to destruction? I really struggle to understand how people can go through the same emotions time after time with every manager bar Keegan and Benitez in the last 14 years when nearly everyone clearly knows where the problem lies. It doesn't matter if Bruce stays or goes. Another Bruce/Pardew/Carver/McClaren/Kinnear will step up, rinse and repeat. How many more failed "takeovers", relegations and washed up managers does it have to take for the majority of fans to turn on Ashley in the only way a change will happen, meaning a scenario where the club is costing him more than he makes off it. The club is big enough to rise from the ashes to compete in the PL again even with a skint owner as long as its run good. Yeah, there might be chancers along the way that will make things worse in the short term than Ashley if he ends up selling at a loss, but thing with these chancers are that they have to sell again if their speculative chance doesn't pay off as they don't have the money to keep a sinking ship afloat, and will most likely also sell if they manage to change things around to sell at a profit.
  9. Absolutely no scenario at all. Can't say I disagree. He's made it very clear in recent interviews that he won't leave, and that whether he stays or goes is not up to him.
  10. Nah, he came, did some pirouettes, clobbered Joe Cole, earned a few quid and left, he was happy with that. fyp

Like getting into the opposition half? Welcome to NUFC Matty
  12. I think people on the left should be far more open minded to the possibility that many people are simply ignorant when they say stuff, and aren't saying them with hurtful intent. I can't imagine many people that has been involved with professional football their whole life has paid much attention to identity politics. This is as much speculation on my part as the racist claims from Kaiz, but Wilder has, in top football terms at least, lived fairly much under the radar from media and social media. I suspect that comment could be because he's been picked up on some things he's said that may have been offensive to someone, without necessarily knowing that is was.
  13. That was news to me too. Googled "Chris Wilder racist" and first hits, from last month and July last year: "Blades manager became the latest Premier League boss to condemn racist abuse," "Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder wants to see online trolls "dealt with severely" after David McGoldrick was subjected to racist abuse." "Chris Wilder wants ‘severest’ punishment for those who send racist abuse" "Chris Wilder says that unity is vital in the fight against racism, not just in football but everyday life, too. " If he is, it sure isn't blatant!

That’d be too late. It potentially already is. Ashley has not learned from his last two relegations that the mistake wasn't the change in manager, but that the changes were made too late. Since we are where we are I can see why he's sticking with Bruce. Only one person to blame for where we are, as has always been the case. Yet the most noise is still, as every other time, around the manager. Let it all burn.
  15. Live text update see "free kick in own half to Newcastle" as worthy of a mention. Sounds like a great game.
  16. Wtf is up with the ref in the Dortmund match?
  17. Watching Sunderland - Portsmouth during th BVB-Sevilla break. We'll absolutely lose to them if we meet in the championship next season if Bruce is still manager.
  18. That for a time being he actually looked nowhere near the level of rubbish that Hendrick has for us so far. Admittedly he played a lot more but clearly he had a few good moments in that first season to go with the rubbish. Hendrick has looked consistently horrific ever since that goal against West Ham. I’m genuinely not sure what he’s supposed to be good at. The absolute state of our midfield options. Regarding Matty I’m still mystified what he’s done to be not getting in the squad now, let alone on the pitch. Actually looked like a semi-competent midfielder against some of the best sides then is nowhere to be seen while idiots like Shelvey and Hendrick stink up the place. I fully agree. A few months ago I was saying I'd prefer Hendrick over Colback, but that opinion has slightly changed recently. Knife to throat if I had to pick one over the other right now I'd probably go with Colback I just found it a bit provoking that tino skipped mentioning Colback and Smith entirely and went straight to Fumaca They are definitely worthy of being mentioned when listing worst cm's for the club in recent history.
  19. For however much of a shitbag he is, there are clubs that have had much bigger arseholes owning them, and been run far worse. Wanting the club to tank and burn just to remove Ashley I’ve always found too extreme. I just can’t stomach the idea of us plodding along in the Championship, hoping to scrape a play off place whilst teams ping pong up and down building stronger through parachute payments like WBA, Norwich - but at least we got rid of Ashley. Moment we go down, and if PIF pull out, we leave ourselves with a greater chance of some even bigger scumbag buying us. Bare minimum we should be in PL. End of the day shouldn’t be a case of having to tank just to cause Ashley leaving. Would rather be in PL with Ashley, in strongest position for potential buyers than drop down and take a punt on some American come in a strip us clean. It's been what...7-8 months since PIF pulled out? I haven't paid attention to the takeover thread since July but haven't seen any worthwhile news articles since then that indicates anything serious is still ongoing besides some grasping at straws. I'd easily plod around in the championship and even league 1 for a couple of seasons just for a roll of the dice to get someone with an interest in allowing the club to be as good as it can be. If we end up with an ownership that is worse than Ashley then it will most likely be easier to get the club sold to someone else afterwards anyway so a worse owner than Ashley in the short term might not be worse in the long run. We've had 14 or 15 years of Ashley. We know what the next 15 years will look like with him as owner. Just existing in the PL for the majority of those 15 years without wanting to compete while advertising for SD is not worth it to me.

Everyone we as fans want to keep, and everyone we want out of the club will stay.
  21. Agreed. There's too much focus on Steve Bruce. It was exactly the same under Alan Pardew. We can't count on the solidarity of fans to get him him out. The club needs to burn so it costs Ashley more to own it than to sell at a loss. It's the only way I can see for long term improvement.
