I think it's become the mantra of the managerial fraternity to disparage the Europa League at every given opportunity. They all (with a few exceptions) seem to hate the format. Can't wholeheartedly blame them, if I'm honest. It's become a completely shit tournament in the past decade.
Only if you discount (at the very least) Krul, Cisse, Ba and Ben Arfa.
Our midfield wasn't great that season at all. We seldom controlled games and were totally reliant on the back 4 keeping things tight and those up top spinning straw into gold.
He's nothing at all like Dyer, though. Dyer at CM (as opposed to a more attacking role) worked because his fast feet, agility and boundless energy made him effective at hassling and winning the ball.
Same every time, though. Whenever an English team underachieves in the CL it's because they play passively and at the wrong pace. LvG's a pathetic appointment, really.
1-1 ffs. I wish Parky would just piss off.
Klopp's a fucking legend, man. As if his favourite band is Genesis. If the club had taken a different trajectory 8 years ago he'd be our manager.
Yeah said Shawcross and Shelvey a couple of weeks back. They're exactly the sort of players we need and would be abundantly realistic if the club's ambition was any sort of reflection of its potential.
