We played Southampton at home a few weeks ago.

Even as an NUFC fan if I was a professional I wouldn't want to waste a minute of my career at Ashley's Newcastle United. Given was 32 and offered the chance to leave the cesspit to win trophies. Fair play to him.

As a footballer yes, as a striker,no. Correct me if I'm wrong but Wiki suggests Rooney's scored more goals than Lineker managed. Can't be that much difference if any at all in Lineker's favour.

Rooney's still got lots of goals in him but his movement reminds me of Shearer's before Bobby came in. He's just lacking that extra sharpness and confidence.

Was it, wow I thought it was pretty early on. Anyway I think the first goal was scored within 90 seconds. Yep, it was really early. A lot missed it getting to their seats.

Deserves it more than a man who won the World Cup and scored most of his goals against actual football teams? Well if one gets 50+ and the other 49, yes.

It's not grim, though. It's extremely fucking welcome when you look at it in context. Rooney deserves it too. I know it hasn't always gone for him since 2004 but he's ran his bollocks off for England and largely been our best player since then - not that there's a tonne of competition for that accolade.
