I’m behind Eddie all the way, I just hope one of the conclusions he comes to is that we need to look at finding someone to link midfield with attack, even if it means altering the way we play slightly. If there’s one criticism of this season, there’s been too many spells of 30-45 mins where we’ve been a nonentity going forward. Obviously we’ve scored a lot of goals in the league through intensity alone but there’s limits to who that works against.

I can’t fathom why we run Trippier into the ground to this extent when we’ve got him.

They know exactly what they’re doing, to be fair. Every medium - long range pass is aimed right between our defence and midfield and they got a lot of joy from it first half hour. You need a bit of luck or extra quality against teams like this and without Isak up top that leaves good fortune.

He’s playing far too much football atm. Not his fault. Same for Wilson.

He will contribute nothing in midfield or out wide. He can’t run. We have Joelinton, Willock, Longstaff for midfield and Gordon, Wilson and Almiron front 3. Lewis Hall should be way ahead of him in the pecking order wherever he has to be put.

They’re both good players - that’s the difference, Trippier has played LB for England more than once. Liv is RB and obviously very capable there. You don’t put our best CB in midfield to accommodate Paul fucking Dummett.

To be fair I never want to see Burn at CB again anyway. Dummett either, in fairness.

Based on what I’ve seen and basic common sense. I realise Lascelles is a radgies favourite but Botman makes our defence better, with the ball and without it.

I think he’s done very well overall. That said we’re clearly better with Botman and I think Trippier would agree. Pipe down going over the top.
