I’ll never get this. Peak Colo isn’t better at anything versus peak Schar except his close control. Schar is a better defender and contributes far more going forward.

In what effing scenario would we want Sean Longstaff stepping in for Tonali, Jo or Bruno? He’s got pretty much all their individual weaknesses and none of the strengths. If we’re going to have a 6th choice CM on the books I’d rather it be someone with ability to influence games and get better.

He won every header last night, several key clearances, played 3 absolute peaches out wide - one of which should’ve led to a goal. But also give it away very cheaply once leading to someone on here mindlessly saying watching him now was sad. Bit of a shame he’s become an easy target for the fair weather lot as he’s been absolutely integral to our success under Howe. In fact him at CB has been the only constant since he got the job in 2021. Eddie knows what he’s got in Schar and most of us do too.
