  1. I think to say there's no pressure is a bit far, there's still pressure on him regardless of how much people expect failure. Still, I think Hughton could do a half decent job in this league, although I'd prefer almost anyone else (just not Kinnear...).
  2. Will be gutted if Spurs get Huntelaar. I remember when we were all begging for him to be our Shearer replacement, how times have changed.
  3. Fucking hell man. Did he come back for his dog?
  4. It's a person's "opinion". Get it?? For the love of God!! Again, calm down. If opinions can't be challenged then there seems to be no point to message boards at all. I'm not saying opinions can't be challenged, I just don't agree with put downs or slagging off when people's opinions differ. Heading down that route only leads to people morphing into NE5! I already said that was over the top, if you're still going on about me accusing him of "spouting shit" then what do you want? I'm sorry I said it, happy? Yes. Good, glad to have been of service. (Why is that smiley labeled "Yorkie"?) It's a person's "opinion". Get it?? For the love of God!! Again, calm down. I already said that was over the top, if you're still going on about me accusing him of "spouting s***" then what do you want? I'm sorry I said it, happy? I do not accept that your inane ramblings about my descriptions of the (if you know anything at all about the scope and depth of human behaviours) very possible realities that we are now facing, is "my idea being ridiculed" at all. I'm afraid that you misunderstand what is going on in this discussion . . . and you over-estimate the importance and relevance of your ramblings. If you can at any point show me where I've done that, then feel free to quote it. Actually, shall we just agree to differ about what is actually happening here? My perception of Ashley is that he is doing what he is doing for certain reasons. You do not agree with me. I hope I am wrong (because, like you, I LOVE my club) but I do think (from my own experience of life) that I am (sadly) very, very, right. OK . . . friends!!!!!? Yep, we both have different opinions of it and in truth neither of us can prove that we're right. Personally I hope you're wrong, because if you're right I dread to think what'll become of us when he's through. Friends.

  6. I'd tackle it. Sort of thing I'd expect to come from Pedro.

  8. Stop talking so much sense, you'll confuse people. A couple of points need to be made here. (1) A "certain type" of point-of-view is always easy to make out to be a "common sense" point of view, and therefore easy to support. These points of view usually include a rejection of anything outlandish or unusual. - The fact that something sounds 'common sense' DOES NOT MAKE IT TRUE!!! - The fact that this 'common sense' point of view also scorns other less 'common sense sounding' views, as paranoid STILL DOES NOT MAKE THEM TRUE. (2) A certain type of view expressed, usually one that refers to the 'excesses' that certain types of human being indulge in such as where they behave out of passion and anger rather than from cool business-like perspectives, are easy to "rubbish" as being paranoid, etc. These points of view are normally expressed because the person who expresses them has actually experienced human beings behaving TOTALLY IRRATIONALLY. People DO behave that way, you know. They really do!! - The fact that an expreesed view appears (to some) as 'excessive' or 'paranoid' DOES NOT MAKE IT UNTRUE!! So, remember, strange things (seemingly perverse / seemingly unlikely / seemingly impossible) CAN HAPPEN (and frequently do) in life. None of this proves Ashley is doing anything out of revenge ffs. Don't try and justify what is nothing more than getting frustrated and jumping to irrational conclusions. Did he say it did? Basically none of us know Ashley's motives anymore so to dismiss anyone elses opinions on this is talking a lot more s****. Unless you've got a grystal ball? Yes actually, he did. Not in that specific post, but he did. I see you're a member of the "prove I'm wrong" club rather than "I'll prove I'm right". I suppose you also expect atheist to provide proof that God doesn't exist? "Sigh" Of course I never said it did. But, don't let that get in the way! "Sigh" I won't. "Post". I'm shocked! (Take note everyone, LiquidAK has confirmed that he takes NO NOTICE of the truth. Not exactly breaking news, that!) No melodramatic "sigh" this time? If you can prove to me that Ashley's doing this out of revenge then feel free to "gloat" and "sigh" all you "want". What would you accept as proof. A written statement from Derek Lambias, signed in blood by JFK perhaps? Is kind of my point, it's something that's ridiculous and as you demonstrated really couldn't be proved, therefore people should expect to be challenged on it when they present it as a possibility, with nothing to back it up. Interesting. So by challenged on it you mean saying someone is "spouting shite"? Is that how you conduct all your debates? Started out a lot more civil, admittedly that wasn't really fair to him. But then me not being very nice about it, doesn't really effect my argument.

  10. Because when you present such a ridiculous idea such as a business man making revenge based decisions with his own money, you need to prove it has the remotest basis in fact, or that idea will get ridiculed. Clear enough?

  13. Without qualifying it, that's as ridiculous a statement as there's been in the thread. Even the most cold hearted and logical people find it hard not to let emotions and irrationality factor into their decision making. Ashley gambles large amounts of money on roulette, and you're trying to make out that every decision he makes is based on sound financial thinking. It's equally as ridiculous to suggest that revenge is a factor imo, fact is none of us really know what's going on so to make allegations like "omg Ashley hates us sooo much he's just dragging this on to get us!" is just absurd, and entirely unfounded. And for the record, I'm not claiming it's all based on sound financial thinking, he's proven in the past he's incapable of that when it comes to running a football club.

I'm not a member of any group but get pissed off when people try to dismiss other people's views and opinions with accusations such as "spouting shite" because they don't match their own and when they themselves haven't got a clue what Mike Ashley is thinking. As I said originally none of us knows Ashley's motives so I'm not sure I'm suddenly a "member" of any group! I get equally pissed off when people refuse to recognise how ridiculous a notion it is that any business man, a twat or otherwise, would base any of his decisions on revenge. It's so ludicrous it is astonishing that anyone can actually take it seriously. Oh shut up you tart. Yet again I'll say it - none of us know Ashley's motives so stop trying to make out you do! Calm down sweetie, it's just the internet.

  19. A gambling one A poor one Take your pick A gambling/poor businessman likes to lose money eh? Since when? You don't buy into that conspiracy theory as well right? What kind of man likes being spurned by 50,000 people? Ashley may have bought NUFC to make money but it soon became clear Mike wanted to be liked. Then he fell out with a man had earned the affection of the city. For all his money Ashley became disliked immensely. From Hero to Zero, it might be hard for a multi billionaire to accept that money can’t buy the things that matter most. The idea Ashley is a robotic idiot who only thinks about money is naive. Billionaires have feelings too, odd ones that drive them to pursue profit long after the law of diminishing returns have kicked in. Have you been sniffing glue?! Ashley isn't going to be motivated by revenge when it comes to something he owns, which is currently a drain on HIS money. f***ing hell man I know Ashley's being an idiot but have a word, if you think for one second that revenge is a factor then you're utterly deluded... Yes, I thought everybody on here did. Considering the underwhelming number of people latching onto your little consiprationally theory, evidently not. I’d take that as evidence the practice is rife. I'd prefer to take it as evidence that I trust my Firefox spell checker a little too much.
