  1. superb goal, halfway there to a brace
  2. Iv been to 1 away game, we lost 2-0 to Spurs on new years eve, played awful and Owen broke his foot. My car also broke down about 200 yards from White Hart Lane after being grid locked for 2 hours, with my then girlfriend pissed that I werent gonna make it back in time for our reservation at a restaurent. Great omen me!
  3. Haper Richards Rozenhal Campbell Nzogbia SWP Fabregas Arteta Malouda Torres Santa Cruz Havent seen too much of the non NUFC players though tho base my opinion on.
  4. This doesnt really bother me to be honest! tho tbf I barely ever actually go to games what with living in the South East, but I guess I can understand people who have to make arrangements getting arsey!
  5. Its impossible to judge how anyone is going to do this early in the season. Man City have just as much chance of doing really well as they have doing shite, what with loads of unproven foreign players coming in and a new manager. We could do well, based on our start we look difficult to beat, but at the same time we havent really had any big opposition. People are writing Spurs off but they started just as shit last year and ended up 5th. Its pretty much the same with most of the teams floating around the mid table to europe area. I just think its almost impossible to predict.
  6. Id be happy regardless of how we beat them, as long as we beat them. I just think that given their form, anything other than a win would be considered as points dropped.
  7. Regardless of whether people are writing Derby off or not, given their form, I wouldnt be happy with anything other than a win.

Chopra's at least a very good Championship striker but I see your point. I think that we were quite heavily to blame for him becoming what he is though and not better.
  9. There really are some overly pessimistic people on this forum! This has got to be the best transfer window I can ever recall us having. As said, we have farmed out a lot of the shit/bad influences and brought in a lot of quality and experience. The first step for us is to get some grit and desire to succeed and work for the team, and we have done that in this window. I agree that we could have done with bringing in a creative central midfielder , but I think that is way down the list of priorities in comparison to everything else, and when they are fit, Emre and Barton under Allardyce could well provide the creative spark. I am very satisifed with the window, and when you consider what was required (off the field as well) and the length of time given to achieve it, it makes it all the more impressive. I honestly cant think of another manager where I would say "yeah, he would have done more than Allardyce has done this window both on and off the field".

    Do We Need Faye?

£2 million is not exactly a lot of money in football, and even if he is brought in to be a backup, it still improves the quality of our squad.
  11. Geremi for me, I dont rate Butt at all.
  12. Dunno if anyones mentioned it but: http://www.newcastleutd-mad.co.uk/news/loadnews.asp?cid=TMNW&id=350856 o......k!
  13. In terms of Ability in each position, not going for balance in the centre of the park, just picking purely on who I think has the most ability in each position, my lineup would be: Given Chimbonda King Rozenhal Bale (1 Bale game to compare vs 0 Enrique games) Lennon Barton Emre Duff Berbatov Owen
  14. Rozenhal so far. very composed. Looks like he could chip in with a few from corners as well.
  15. When everyone's fit, I don't think he should be in our strongest 11. That said though I still dont think he'll turn out to be a bad signing, he (like practically all of our players) need time to settle into a new club and a new managers ideas.

    Steven Taylor

Rozehnal is a looking good to be honest. Cacapa looked strong and pacy and on that basis I would quite happily let the three (or 4 if Faye is here) use their talents in different situations. Taylor will get a game but I can't help but feel he will have a fair old struggle on his hands. In many ways it will do him the world of good. He got in the side on reputation as a good youngster. So far he has believed his own press. It's time he worked on his weaknesses. If he does that then he may well end up a good Premiership player. Good luck to the kid. I agree with most of what you have said there, but I cant say I've seen signs of Taylor believing his own press. He seems like a decent professional... unless I've missed something.
  17. I cant believe that, he may be money grabbing or whatever but whenever hes on the pitch, most of the time he looks like he wants to play. In that respect the lad just cannot catch a break with all his injuries. I saw one of my team mates snap his arm at football on Saturday and he was screaming in agony, wouldnt wish that upon anybody. I cracked the bone in my arm once and it fucking caned.
  18. Jesus christ, if thats true I feel bad for saying to my mate, "I hope he breaks his leg"
  19. I dunno who he was chasing at the weekend when Boro were on the break but when he was tracking back he looked pretty bloody quick.
  20. I think if Allardyce could get the potential/ability Emre has out of him, he could be that kind of player.
  21. Not great again, probably better than the Villa game, Viduka showed his class not celebrating rather than being a cunt like Mido. Cacapa looked superb, I know we have to give him a chance but Smith was non existent again today. I really dont like Butt, can't wait until Emre and Barton are back. I was annoyed to see Martins go off, thought Viduka should have gone off, although I guess I was proven wrong. I guess 2-2 away from home isn't a bad result, not too much we could have done about the goals really.
  22. long ball up to Dyer? makes sense!
  23. what we need is grit and steel in our team before we can progress any further, his attributes suit what we need at the moment. Im not his biggest fan but we have to be patient and let him settle before jumping on his back. Not when he's playing alongside two grafters in Butt & Geremi. We need someone with flair and the ability to pick a pass. I agree with that, I personally cant stand Butt so wouldnt play him. Id Like to see Geremi sit in for 2 of Emre, Barton or Smith. Either that or purchase a creative player. I think Dyer would have been ideal at the front a 3 man midfield.
