Makes a change to see an optimistic opinion on here, I think I would be optimistic if Allardyce was appointed. A bit off topic but who does Manuel Fernades play for, and is he any good? I've heard the name (and Portsmouth bought him on my FM) but thats about it.

I hope he stays, everyone has been poor the the last month or two, I'd like us to build on our squad not lose our decent players.

Berbatov's goal was class!

not happy theyve gone, my mate has a couple of season tickets and he sometimes lets me go up for nothing, fuck watchin championship football!

I really hope its true, makes a change to get a manager in with plenty of time ahead of the new season. I dont particularly like him as a person, but I think he will do well for us. First time since the appointment of Robson I feel I can honestly say I am 100% behind our manager.

I really cant see how people can call Duff at 28 past it. He has had a bad season, broken up by injury but before he came here (seems to be the trend with a lot of players), he was a quality player. There are so many players in our squad not playing to their ability at the moment. Hopefully whoever comes in can use what he has effectively because we do actually have some potentially quality players.

Looked to me like he was dropped because we bought Duff to play in his place, for some reason. Then his attitude began to stink, and understandably so tbh. Well he could have got his head down and tried to make the position his by putting in a performance when he got the chance. At the end of the day he is young and if you can find a balance between giving a player a decent amount of chances without putting too much pressure on him then it will be beneficial for him and the club. The player has to have the right attitude though. By that logic Man U should have sold Ronaldo last summer, considering he wanted out. And Milner has played more than anyone this season, and he's flourished in it. So I'd say it benefits players to play more rather than 'protecting' them. Yes but Ronaldo's attitude wasnt poor for his club last season, he wanted to leave because of the goings on in the world cup, and this season he has had a good attitude. Neither was Charlie's. Ronaldo's would have been 'poor' this season if they'd bought a replacement and benched him. For a start you don't know that, and Man Utd have better existing options in their squad than we do. I appreciate that other positions needed filling before a 2nd left mid, but we did need another option on the left. As I said above he could have got his head down and tried to capitalize on his chances when he got them. Its down to the character of the person at the end of the day, they can either sulk and blame everyone else and want out, or be determined to get in the side. Milner is a good example.

Also, although Milner is only a little older than N'Zogbia he has a heck of a lot more experience than N'Zogbia since he has had long spells in teams for Leeds, Villa and us. N'Zogbia has had one good season and seemingly thought he warrented an automatic first team place. Someone mentioned above as well, but we did need another left sider whether it was Duff or not.

Good post, If SA can work his magic on Duff and get him playing well again and if Zoggy finds his form of last season i think our left side will be pretty good. Roeder always said "Zoggy is the future" but he never played him, Even when Duff was injured Roeder would play Milner there or even Emre who is fucking shit on the LW. I think SA could bring out the best in a lot of our current players just by utilising them correctly and giving them a bit of confidence. Stranger things have happened but Parker may even be told to be a defensive mid fielder next term, and Emre given a more forward role.

Some of them showed appreciation to him. I can understand why they are feeling bitter over the whole situation but at the end of the day I think they would probably be a mid to play-off position championship club now if he hadn't been there for the past 7 years.

This is the first chance Iv had to get on a PC all night, kinda sad that iv been wanting to do so all night, but thank fuck he's gone. Im not gonna read through all 28 pages of this thread but Id like to think that this means that we will be able to look forward to next season rather than expect the inevitable shit that we have almost grown acustomed to over the last few seasons.

My initial thought was that he wouldnt resign, but considering everything else he says is bullshit, I cant see why him saying "Glenn Roeder never backs down from a challenge" is likely to be true either. God I hope he does fuck off!
-
if roeder is still in charge by then, then I hope so!

And another written off season

awaiting comments....

I was thinking this, I wonder whether he would still go if Allardyce was to be appointed. If he could get anything that resembles a footballer out of him theres a new signing straight away!
-
Agree with that, especially Turkey.

Liverpool kit looks alright.

what a load of bollocks... I don't think its particularly a load of bollocks. A lot of nations football behaviour gets away with a lot more than what Englands does so I can see where people are coming from.
-
I really hope he does come to us, it would be nice to start a season properly for a change rather than expecting to have the season written off after 7-10 games. I don't particularly like him but I think he would sort a hell of a lot out.
-
wonder who that was!!! Inevitible though!

I'm not particularly a fan of Ameobi but when all three of them were on last night I thought Ameobi probably looked the better. Hardly suprising though since Owen had already played 60 minutes and Martins was isolated wide right.
