FWIW Shaw came across absolutely fine in the interview IMO, as did Ten Hag. They were both focusing mainly on their own team’s failings.

I just can't see any advantage in taking your best two defenders off at any point TBH. And Martinez is also one of their best build-up players. Anyway, doesn't matter.

It's hardly normal to take your whole defence off when changing the game. And they also brought a defender on. It was very weird.

Has anyone explained why they took the two CBs off?

I think Martinez is the best CB in the league, or second behind The Botmanator.

His intervention for the first goal was absolutely key. World-class team goal overall.

Like I said, there's two atmosphere issues. The baseline of how we support the team when things aren't going well, and how we get up for these key games. I think we're really good at the latter and not always so good at the former. But I can't help but think that's just how it will inevitably always be.

FWIW I didn't think it looked clear from the replay, although obviously it happened because Schar was down for ages.

Thought he looked much sharper than he has recently. Even closing down he was really running hard.

Thought worth noting how much of a massive strategic mistake it was by Ten Hag to talk about time wasting pre-match and then send his team out to slow the game down as much as they did. Couldn’t have asked for a better way to wind up the fans and get some everyone going.

A lot of people know that Man Utd should have signed Bruno before he came here. He was everything they needed.

Could’ve easily ended this game with 4 assists. Will always frustrate a bit but you can’t really argue that he’s very creative in terms of making chances.

I will not get too smug about always arguing he was a great signing. The money never mattered to Man City anyway.

They’re just not that good TBH. They’re a decent team with a hot striker. Not an easy game but not one we should fear either.

Can we not bump this unless he’s dead?
