Best just to ignore those people because that phrase is recycled straight from the media. Shows they can't see the big picture or think for themselves. It's literally something Paul Merson would say whenever our club is brought up, along with over-expectant fans blah blah.

I know exactly what it means. You know why I know? Because I have to defend myself against the charge every time I make it known I support NUFC. You can remember the course of events however you like - other people remember it the way it happened. I can tell people till I'm blue in the face that Pardew was never accepted by the fans from day one (and in case you've forgotten, the media, the people these campaigns supposedly exist to inform, had latched onto that from day one). It doesn't make a blind bit of difference, all they remember is the fact the placards only appeared after Pardew's purple patch turned into a slide. And they're smart enough to put two and two together and see the slide began right after Cabaye was sold, something Pardew clearly didn't want to happen. You can pretend all you like that the SackPardew campaign didn't have this effect on how the fans are portrayed, and you can pretend all you like that it achieved something and we're better off now from both a footballing and a public perception standpoint, you're only lying to yourself. The campaign achieved either nothing, or very little, depending on your outlook. The worse thing about being an NUFC fan these days, is that I can still remember the time when your fellow fans were actually embarrassed whenever the latest circus incident occurred. Now, people are positively embracing it, as if being seen as mugs/fools/fickle fans might be a good thing. It's not. It certainly doesn't enhance the experience of being a fan of an under-performing club with zero ambition. And it sure as hell doesn't get rid of Ashley either, it probably just amuses him that little bit more. The "slide" actually started when Ba was sold, not Cabaye. Cabaye was brilliant from midfield, but Ba was the main cog that made the whole team work, and made Pardew look competent for a season. It's not fickle to want change for the better of the club, especially when this has been a consistent movement against the management. The ones who are fickle are the ones who still pay their money to go and sit there, spout "support the team, not the regime", and then they boo the players off when the whistle goes.

Did the club give two shits about us yesterday, or the four spineless derby defeats before that?
-
Um no. I oppose the people who brought us the roaring success that was SackPardew having any part in it. It was successful though. He's not f***ing here anymore as a result of it The stated aim was to get him sacked, not let him leave on his own terms, leaving us in a worse state, and in the process make him look good and us look bad. So you don't think it had any impact on Palace's decision to make an approach, or Pardew's decision to leave?

So what, so are we supposed to just suck it up, follow a club that has no ambition, no self identity, no sole, and only wish to put money into the owners pocket, and into his tacky cheap brand. It'd rather follow a club that's in the Championship and has some ambition, and drive to succeed, then a husk of a club thats only interested in being on the Premier League gravy train. People will make their own decisions about whether to follow the Toon going forward. That's fine and understand that for some people, they just don't feel it's worth it anymore. I just can't understand the logic of wanting us to get relegated. There are no guarantees at all that relegation would improve anything. Relegation removes the only real incentive for Ashley - The TV money. He tried to sell the club the last time we were relegated with no success. If we get relegated again, then he might not get an "acceptable price" to sell us (again) - and we're stuck with the Bugger. In the Championship. The club needs change, ideally Ashley needs to go. But getting relegated "just" so that might happen - isn't a risk I'd want to take. If only that were actually true...

Ultimately, it let Pardew know we didn't want the brainless cunt here, and he's gone as a result of it. More fans will probably unite against Ashley because that was the argument that caused the divide with the Pardew campaign. Even the media acknowledge how bad Ashley is, and that's saying something considering the flak we normally get from all corners. Protesting is better than sitting quietly in the stadium each week, and just accepting the club being killed off.

Goodness sake man. Fucking hell

Exactly. Clearly just lying his arse off for the sake of the media and fans picking it up and rolling with it in order to save face.

Like it's been said, it'll never leave me completely but I'm done until next season. No way am I subjecting myself to anymore of this gutless shit we've been served up for the last few seasons. I've never put a penny into the club in the last 2-3 years now and will continue not to until Ashley and co are gone.

Any of the players who are pushing for Carver to get the job should fuck off. It took 88 minutes for us to even pretend to look like we wanted to attack.
-
Shambolic, gutless, clueless. Fuck this club.
-
I'm praying we don't end up with him. Can't stand the bloke.
-
what a fucking mess

Their tears will soon be delicious.

I sacrificed 4 points in transfers just before the deadline yesterday, to sub out Kane for Berahino Still managed 63 points though, thanks to captain Cazorla having a wobbler
