  1. How is he even allowed to take a corner any more? It's not like we've had any success from them. We might as well 'do a Barcelona' and always take short corners as crossing it into the box has achieved nothing for two years.
  2. This current team would never have come back from 4 - 0 down against Arsenal. They don't seem to have much fight or belief in each other. The way we came out in the first half was good. We had a few chances in the first few minutes. After we scored the players seemed to take their foot off the gas. The way we came out in the second half was a disgrace. Hull were out early. Our lot sauntered onto the pitch barely a minute before the game got back under way. Hull were all over us as our lot looked half asleep. Once again, the lack of movement (and therefore options of players to pass to) was chronic.
  3. When Cissé went off, Gouffran replaced him up front. Gouffran managed to hold the ball up a few times when it was punted up to him. He also linked up a couple of times with Remy. I'd possibly play Cissé against Leeds. If he looks no better I'd drop him for Gouffran. Cissé hasn't been in good form since the end of the 2011/2012 season.
  4. The PA system has been useless all season. It used to be too loud (well it was in the Gallowgate where I sit). This season it is too quiet.
  5. We want France to qualify for the World Cup. NUFC need our French players to be motivated all season to try to get into the World Cup squad (if personal pride and a huge weekly salary aren't enough).
  6. I would have thought NUFC pay a higher salary to our top players than the French teams (apart from PSG and Monaco) pay their top players. Wasn't Gomis wanting £80K a week mentioned at one point? I wouldn't have thought that was true. I doubt Gomis is on £50K at Lyon. I think Gomis' quotes could be related to the fact that Lyon didn't want to pay the 5% fee they owed Saint-Étienne from a sell on clause as well as all the agent fees. NUFC may well have agreed wages with Gomis but when they were asked to pay the Saint-Étienne sell on clause fee they probably wanted Gomis to take it out of his wages.
  7. It is a bit of an empty 'boast' to say we have French internationals in our team when you consider what the French international team are actually like.
  8. Instead of protesting maybe it would be better to come up with a campaign to try to attract potential new owners. A fan protest against Mike Ashley is unlikely to make NUFC look an attractive option to any company/individual. Fans need to advertise the positives of owning NUFC. We all know NUFC is a sleeping giant. All we need is an owner with some ambition (it doesn't have to be an Abramovich type owner either).
  9. The crowd would be much higher at £15 a ticket compared to £20. On the rare occasion a cup tie is drawn at St James', lower league clubs always seem to think it's going to be a 52000 sell out and they always reject cheap ticket prices. They only end up shooting themselves in the foot.
  10. Shane Ferguson, Conor Newton, Romain Amalfitano and Mehdi Abeid are all on season long loans. I don't know why Abeid is listed in the squad.
  11. This statement reminds me of the Llambias statement welcoming JFK to the club. Llambias quit the day after that statement was put out.
  12. So then, which players are in the final year of their contract? I'm just trying to get an early idea of who our transfer targets are for January/next Summer. 1. Gomis (also wanted by Marseille)
  13. "Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me." Unless we play the rest of the season like we played the last 20 minutes against Fulham there will be a hell of a lot of season tickets getting cancelled. The Family section will have to expand to half the stadium next season to make up for the cancellations.
  14. These loan deals are a disgrace. Chelsea loaning Moses to Liverpool? If Liverpool wanted him why didn't they buy him? What are Chelsea doing loaning a player to Liverpool? Chelsea loaning Lukaku to West Brom or Everton? Whoever gets him will get an 'artificial' boost from a player they could never afford to buy. Liverpool loaning a player to Sunderland. The Premier League teams are just loaning players to each other. It's a joke that it is allowed.

    Graham Carr

It's strange that NUFC employ Graham Carr (on an 8 year contract) to spot players but we barely sign any. He works all season looking at players and then NUFC only sign one youngster (Olivier Kerem) and Remy on loan. I'd imagine his list of potential transfer targets is quite a long list. I wonder what he thinks when NUFC buy no one.
  16. I'm expecting no one in and no one out. Anyone who is happy with our squad obviously doesn't watch us. On paper our team may be good but they haven't translated their potential on paper to actual performances on the pitch. Our best 11 played well for 20 minutes on Saturday against Fulham who were poor. We drew 0 - 0 against West Ham who were also poor. Very few of our players are under pressure for their position. If Cisse is out of form he'll still more than likely start every game. Remy had a good cameo. Ben Arfa is our only creative player. We don't have much quality to cover for injuries. Our fringe players rarely perform. Look at the Morecambe game. We had to bring on Ben Arfa to beat a League 2 side. There is no excuse for only bringing in Remy (on loan) when Harper, Perch and Simpson have all left the payroll.
  17. It nearly kicked off in the Gallowgate over the booing. Some booed Cabaye on and others cheered him on like he was a returning hero. A few fans were screaming abuse at each other and calling people out for a fight. There wasn't a steward in sight. People who think cheering Cabaye will make him want to stay are deluded (He probably will be staying but that's more down to Arsenal not offering NUFC enough money for him). On the other hand, booing your own players doesn't help the team. I neither cheered him or booed him on.
  18. Players aren't supposed to announce via twitter (or whatever) when they won't be playing due to injury. It helps the opposition get an early idea of who will or won't be playing. I'm sure Enrique got told off for announcing he was injured via Twitter.

  20. Get him out on a season long loan, preferably to a Championship club if one wants to loan him. His contract runs until Summer 2016. A loan would give him a (final?) chance to prove he's good enough to make it.
  21. Williamson and Obertan are both currently out injured (although it hasn't been reported what their injuries are) otherwise I'd imagine they'd have started this game.
