  2. I see Guthrie still isn't even making the match day squad for Reading. His move hasn't worked out very well for him so far.
  3. His corners looked to be of a higher quality than our usual corners. If he needs games he should be playing in the under 21s games as one of the over age players until he gets up to speed.
  4. I'm hoping it was planned. Playing Williamson for 90 minutes tonight wouldn't exactly have kept him fresh for another 90 minutes on Sunday.
  5. Charlton are 5 - 2 up against Cardiff. Cardiff went 2 - 0 up before shipping 5 goals. I thought Bellamy was at Cardiff? I assume he is injured.
  6. We haven't played well all season and yet we are only 3 points off 4th. We are only 1 point behind Arsenal too.
  7. I don't know if he has played there before he joined NUFC. NUFC seem to see him as a winger.
  8. I don't want to see a midfield three of Anita, Bigi and Tiote. They are all too similar to each other. I'd rather we tried to put some creativity in the middle. Who that would be is the question though. Cabaye is our only creative centre midfielder. Gosling hasn't really justified a start and he's injured anyway. We could do with buying a creative midfielder.
  9. Neither Ba or Cissé are good at holding the ball up. Shola is the only striker we've got who can hold it up. It's very frustrating when Krul kicks it long for Ba and Cissé as it invariably comes straight back at us.
  10. One thing that should be done off the back of all this is that the microphones the Ref and assistant have should be recorded. That would have settled this incident quickly.

  12. Pardew mentioning the clause is not an issue. Ba's numerous agents make sure the whole world know that the clause exists. How do you think Harry Redknapp knew about it? Anyway, the clause existed in the Summer transfer window and Ba didn't leave. Maybe the same will happen with the January transfer window. If he left us to go to Liverpool I'd think a lot less of him.
  13. There was an article in The Journal or The Chronicle last week (I can't find the article as the search engine on ICNewcastle is shite) where Anita said how he was spending extra time in the gym doing weights to bulk up so he can compete better in midfield in the Premiership. Santon took awhile to bed in. Anita could take a season too. Not every player adapts to a new league instantly.
  14. Half of our cards were for dissent due to complaining about the refs biased decisions. Apparently it's the same ref who thought De Jong's leg breaking 'tackle' on Ben Arfa wasn't worthy of a card. That explains why he didn't mind the Sunderland fouls on Ba, Shola and Santon to name but three.
  15. Gosling is out injured. I think his estimated return date is in December. Radio Newcastle had an interview with Pardew today where he said Sammy has been flying in training this week and the only reason he wasn't in the squad was due to the return of our 'big hitters'. I would think he'll play some part on Thursday. Tioté, Cissé, Shola and Anita to start.
  16. Looking on the bright side, Tiote will be available to play in both our Europa League games against Brugge.
  17. I thought the ref was a disgrace. Blatant fouls by Sunderland players were not punished. Whoever it was who fouled Santon wasn't even shown a yellow card. How can a derby game like that result in no cards for one of the teams? Most of our player's cards were for dissent for complaining about the refs biased or s*** decisions. As for our home games, I've heard of "homer" refs but we seem to get "awayer" refs. We rarely get any decisions in our favour off any of the refs.
  18. I'll believe it when he returns. Our injured players have a nasty habit of returning later than expected rather than earlier. He's not even back in training yet so at least the Netherlands can't call him up to injure him again.

I was playing 'Fifa 13' last night. I was doing the skills section as Hatem Ben Arfa. When I was practising penalties I noticed the wall behind the goal had the NUFC crest and graffiti which said "SMB". The same thing was on an earlier version of 'Fifa'.

  21. I was watching the film "Act of Valor" last night. There's a scene in the Ukraine where terrorists are making suicide vests. A TV is on showing a football match. One of the teams scores and the team names are "Avon Vale United v Tyneside City". The team that scored? 1 - 0 to Tyneside City! Apparently the actual footage is of a Celtic game. I put "Act of Valor Tyneside City" into Google and the second hit is: - http://www.readytogo.net/smb/showthread.php?t=677880
  22. Are you calling Nufc.co.uk (the official NUFC website) a liar?
  23. It says on NUFC.co.uk that it is 4-3-3. Ferguson at left back, Anita, Cabaye and Tiote in the middle. http://www.nufc.co.uk/articles/20121004/newcastle-v-bordeaux-cabaye-and-simpson-in_2281670_2939372
  24. We haven't exactly benefited from resting Ba, Cisse, Ben Arfa and Jonas by the performances in league games. I'd play Cisse and Ben Arfa from the start in this game. I can understand playing Ba once a week due to his potential knee problem but Cisse and Ben Arfa should definitely be able to play twice a week. If we must play 4-4-2 then start Cisse upfront with Shola Ameobi.
