    Shola Ameobi

It's mental that he's going to spend his entire career here. That in itself makes him special despite his shitness I suppose.

    Alan Pardew

    Our players aren't that good.

Probably some mixture of wanting to boost Ba's (slim) chances of becoming top scorer and superstition about the player who won the penalty not actually taking the kick?

    Hatem Ben Arfa

Needs to be played if only because he's the only winger we have who actually does wide play (other than err... Obertan ) Obviously he has his downfalls and I understand partially why he's not in the squad but the team is just flat-out non-functional with Jonas on one side and Raylor on the other. When we're up against somebody with Sunderland who has the height at the back to cut out long balls and stuffs the center of the pitch to keep Cabaye out of the game, the only way we're ever getting through is by playing wide. As it stands we can't do that without Ben Arfa, so we're just going to have to suck up his faults and figure out how to play him anyway. Hopefully Pardew now realizes this.
  5. Draw that feels like a win that feels like a loss. Ah, whatever. Not losing is always good enough for this fixture.

  7. Bunch of Korean people getting together in town for this. So nice of them to schedule the early kickoff (8PM, live on TV) for our benefit.
  8. Ah, the sweet, sweet sound of anguish at Anfield.
  9. Korean commentator: "Liverpool are so desperate to get a goal now, they're even bringing on Andy Carroll."

Who's that advertisement supposed to be aimed at anyway? The players?
  12. Going to watch a must-win World Cup Qualifier against Kuwait tonight, loss sees us most likely out of WC 2014 without haven even gone to the final round of qualifiers. Probably the highest stakes match I've ever witnessed in person. Looking forward to it.

    Alan Pardew

He'll be under serious pressure if we take a loss here, which is insane given that we'd probably still be sixth, but that's football I suppose.
  14. Reminds me of how we offered the job to Venables on a temporary basis. If he turns them down, it's Kinnear time!
  15. anyone seen the lad play? Sewelly. Wonder what they're saying at the Reims forum.
  16. The current pool of players England has available is more than good enough to challenge anyone in the world and possibly even win a tournament with some dumb luck. They're not though really. They're not as good as Spain or Germany, but far worse players have won tournaments before. The way England is talked about sometimes you'd think they were South Korea or something. In terms of individual talent England would no doubt be one of the top 10 teams in the World. It's just a matter of how that talent is being utilized.

  18. I like this kit a lot. Is there an Asia Cup this Summer for this kit? Nope, just for WC qualifying and the Olympics. http://imgnews.naver.com/image/109/2012/02/23/201202230824770563_2.jpg http://imgnews.naver.com/image/109/2012/02/23/201202230824770563_3.jpg The away version
  19. Who is the... err... best player in the world who's native tongue is not an Iberian language?
