  1. Well, on the bright side, the "three wingers behind Ba" thing seems to be working.

On the topic of Sunderland, Had dinner with an old friend who now works as a sportscaster at our equivalent to Sky Sports. She told me she had the opportunity to talk to Quinn, Bruce, and other Sunderland people when they were in Korea last year. Apparently they are absolutely desperate to break into the Asian market. Quinn carries Korean-language namecards, and the club now sends her and her co-workers gifts and greeting cards (also all in Korean) for Christmas/New Years/birthdays. Good luck with that I suppose

Okay, I've drawn up a plan in my head. I'm going to get some of the lads from the local supporters group together, we're going to be in Newcastle shirts. I'm going to grab front row seats the second ticketing opens. We're going to put together some sort of truly troll-worthy banner. I'll take suggestions for wording but right now I'm thinking of something along the lines of "ALWAYS IN OUR SHADOW," with a giant NUFC logo and tiny SAFC logo. (assuming I can be bothered to pay for graphics) Then we're just going to sit there. For 90 minutes. Smiling.

I think I might go and sit in the front row in a Newcastle shirt.

  6. Fully expecting to be throwing things at the screen whenever he starts within a year a la Obertan Nah, Best of luck.
  7. Just read the entire interview. That was entirely too reasonable for me to believe that those quotes are actually from Llambias.
  8. Don't think those quotes have any bearing whatsoever on whether or not Tiote or anybody else will stay this summer.

    Ryan Taylor

He's been directly responsible for winning us something like 10+ points this season. Of course he deserves a new contract. (Yeah, yeah "cost us more than that with his shitty general play etc. etc.)
  10. On that note, wage to turnover(budget) ratio for my "company" is... approximately 8% Yeah, we're not much of a people business.
  11. Aye, I'm just never going to get up that early in the morning to watch FC So Much Better than Us play Real Might as Well Be on a Different Planet
  12. I hope we'll get to play Barcelona in a competitive match sometime before the end of Messi's career. Just sad I don't get to watch more of them because I really can't be arsed with the Champions League.

There's something about that city that makes people who live there just as thick as the natives.
  14. Ugh. I'd almost forgotten what he looked like.
  15. Maybe Chelsea? Feels like there might be a desperation summer coming from Roman.

    Alan Pardew

The question we should be asking isn't necessarily "how much better would we be with someone else" but rather "would we even be in this position with someone else?" Pardew isn't perfect but he has his strengths and most importantly, he's the right fit for the club. Sometimes fit is more important than ability. There is no doubt in my mind that Kevin Keegan is a tactically superior manager, but he was the wrong fit. Look how that turned out.
