  1. Do we take this that Dyer is moving on? (him not playing) Think Oliver mentioned that if he doesn't play he is definately moving on.
  2. Joey Barton went close with a header. Still Newcastle dominating and Martins has had a few chances.
  3. Oba Martins got a good shot away, but saved by the Carlisle keeper. SSN - Newcastle have had the best of the opening 12 minutes
  4. "It's Joey Barton sporting the captain's armband" - i think he will get it for the new season.

    Fraser Forster

    That commentator in disguise
  6. Just been on SkySportsNews, that the Amady Faye deal is being looked at by the police. Milan Mandaric was interviewed and basically said Portsmouth did nothing wrong in his time there.
  7. Manuel da Costa began his career at Ligue 1 club Association Sportive Nancy-Lorraine where he was one of their most used player after having offers from clubs like Paris SG to where he was recommended by Pauleta. He also had offers from Football Club des Girondins de Bordeaux, and Newcastle United, but opted to play in Holland with PSV Eindhoven where the glamour of UEFA Champion's League football caught his eye at the Philips Stadion. The 20-year-old centre-back agreed a five-year contract with the Dutch champions to become new coach Ronald Koeman's second summer signing at € 1.000.000. Da Costa was given the nº14 shirt, and he stated: "It will be a beautiful base to grow and develop with PSV Eindhoven." Only signed in 2006. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manuel_da_Costa_(footballer)
  8. From today's Guardian. Surprised that this wasn't settled in Austria, but looks like tomorrow will be D-day in any case. Allardyce has worked his magic with Owen, remains to be seen whether he can do the same with Martins. Linked with West Ham! I doubt he would go to West Ham from us.
  9. Didn't Chopra simply leave Newcastle when his contract expired? ==>No transfer between Newcastle and Cardiff ==>No sell-on provisions? "The club say Chopra, 22, has passed a medical and signed and that a £500,000 fee has been agreed, but that one small detail has to be sorted with Newcastle." http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/foo...ity/5069272.stm Probably the sell on clause.
  10. Looks like Ryan Babel could be joining him as well.
  11. I think they were talking about Sagna. Nowt to worry about just yet. Aye i think some fan has got Martins and Sagna confused on Football365.
  12. Haven't noticed anything at all on Sky Sports about Martins - Bellamy was just on before talking about his move and how Shearer has apologized to him over his comments in a paper a few weeks ago.

  14. His crossing and finishing can be improved on i think and Allardyce will be able to get this out of him. That cross against Palermo and his goalscoring run which included strikes against Man Utd and Birmingham show that he has potential. Maybe under a different training regime he can further improve this and other aspects of his game?
  15. From all the players who were good at Ajax a few years ago and linked with big clubs (Van Der Vaart, Pienaar, De Jong and De Ridder). They seem to go to middle clubs in big leagues and bigger clubs in smaller leagues. I wonder what will happen with Sneijder and Babel?
  16. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/c/celtic/6260984.stm looks like he's goin to Celtic - no mention of any Premiership clubs.
  17. Check the Deloitte site, that has results of this i think.
  18. I thought it might have been about Geremi. He's had talks with Boro, but has decided to sign for us. Maybe?

    David Rozehnal

On Getty images the photos were uploaded yesterday as well (28 June).
  20. 1. Man United 2. Liverpool 3. Chelsea 4. Arsenal 5. Tottenham 6. Newcastle 7. Everton 8. West Ham 9. Aston Villa 10. Blackburn 11. Portsmouth 12. Birmingham 13. Man City 14. Bolton 15. Reading 16. Fulham 17. Sunderland 18. Middlesbrough 19. Derby 20. Wigan
  21. I think they will go for Babel and Martins (at least bid for him).
  22. http://www.englandfootballonline.com/TeamUnif/Goalkeepers/GKUnif1996A.html Euro 96 Seaman, is it worse? :parky:
  23. Probably similar to the Ajax away shirt on the other thread - except light blue/grey with a black curved line.
  24. Six Premiership clubs are interested in Feyenoord's Royston Drenthe - with West Ham and Sunderland the leading chasers. (The Independent)
  25. Drenthe has the skills and hes impressed the most this tournament. Babel has a £6m release clause ( http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx?hlid=472210&CPID=99&clid=255&lid=2&title=Veloso+keen+on+Prem+move&channel=football_home& ) although i'm unsure if he could handle to physical side of the game because he goes down a bit easy. Technically he has talent.
