That Shaw tackle didn't look a good one, very reckless and looked excessive. You rarely see that type of challenge in the penalty box, I'm amazed nothing was given; if it were outside of the box would the ref thought it was a foul?
-
Looking at this side just amplifies the fact that whilst we spent quite a bit of money we didn't address real problem areas. I've no idea how good Thauvin can be but there really was no need to buy him when you look at the shite we have elsewhere.

Wijnaldum was at fault for the goal, poor challenge and he watches as Anita gets pulled in and doesn't close down Payet when he can see he's free.
-
Wignaldum at fault for their goal.

They don't like staying to the end do they.

Why's that bloke in the wheelchair got a half Sunderland half Arsenal top on? Any ideas?
-
See Mark Webber has gone as far as the Lawro Predications on BBC to state that he supports Man U. He best not race in Sunderland again in case he gets wind milled for the rumour and misunderstanding that he'd ever supported The Lads.
-
I think he's referring to the Brighton game with Beardsley and Joe Corrigan.

Good penalty; how many penalties did Bobby take.........

The atmosphere is atrocious given that a win sends them through. Now singing All we are saying is give us a goal!!
-
Really struggling to understand people going for Janmaat. If our best player is a right back he has to be either world class or we're really shit. Defensively he's had some horrible games.
-
Wignaldum for me, if the question was who will be then Perez. That is unless we ruin him.
-
We're still only a couple of injuries/ suspensions away from having no senior cover in defense.

It's ok to go over the top as a MU player.

Can't complain at the red card, another player may have only received a yellow, Mitrovic is a marked man now. That aside Arsenal were embarrassing in their theatrics; utterly pathetic.
-
He was very good in the first half today. Both him and Anita had good games. By not getting booked early on he was one of only a few players who could actually challenge for the ball.

The League Cup 15/16 - Sheffield Wednesday (h) in third round
Tsunami replied to summerof69's topic in Football
During the early 80's we had some good games against Wednesday, we took loads down there and their Kop was impressive when full, they also brought decent numbers up here. They appear to have fans who remember that and have others who seem to have their opinion based on the lazy media drivel and must only know Wednesday since they've struggled. I'd like to see them back in the PL. -
Last sentence nails it.

No idea what you're laughing at, he didn't get tested by any of those players, what match were you watching, as you say Man U were poor. He had a good game, I've not seen anyone say otherwise. Fwiw I thought Schweinsteiger was particularly poor, Carrick was far more influential when he came on.

what kind of corner does he have to turn like? he's a footballer who can play football, now that we're playing football he's starting to look a decent midfielder and will continue to do so as long as we play to his strengths and not his weaknesses as we'd done for the entirety of his time with us but yeah of course, if we send him out to face a strong, physical midfield on his his own he'll get overran so it'd probably be a good idea for us not to do that The corner from where he has generally been rubbish. I didn't see us playing anymore football than usual, we again relied on sitting back and hitting on the counter attack. He didn't get tested on Saturday through the inadequencies of Man U and the negativity of LVG. I'll look at future performances on their own merit. We have some interesting games coming up.
-
He played well on Saturday after the first 15 where we were all over the place. He was certainly better than Colback but let's not pretend he's turned any kind of corner yet. Man U didn't put us under any kind of real pressure to get at our weaknesses. For that same reason Colo and Taylor had fairly comfortable games.

If he hadn't stopped once Cisse had the ball he'd have had a tap in and he knew it. Good player.
