I think we have to be optimistic. We have found ourselves in a position where we will have a new manager at the start of the summer. I think most people expected Roeder in for at least the first 6 games of next season and for him then to be sacked. To find ourselves where we are now is a bonus so we have to think positive and think that next season may start on the up. We have to try and be positive - cant think of a worse thing to be doing than be giving of a bad vibe with a nother new manager. We felt like that with Souness and look where that got us.

I live in Birmingham now and I find it weird that Birmingham fans dont like Bruce and even wanted him sacked half way through the season. Yet they finish 2nd and won automatic promotion. All the Birmingham fans say that they are a shite team and have spent the season criticising them. This suggests to me that Keane, whilst appearing to do well, has got Sunderland out of a very very ordinary league. Do we seriously expect a team containing a front line of Dwight Yorke, Stern John and David Connelly to strike fear into most premiership teams.

I am guessing it will most likely be the very laid back and almost horizontal Pearson.

i agree +2. A joy to watch for most of the season. Probably one of Ferguson's greatest achievements, building up yet another team to counter the Chelskis. Credit where its due. They had a stack of injuroes as well at the end of the season but it didnt affect their form or style of play at all.... just like us!!!

I think Alan has more sense than to take the job on at the moment. He wont want to make himself look stupid so I think he is wise enough to steer well clear of the managers job at the minute and wait until he has an intelligent chairman to help make a success of the club

Its hard to give it up, what else am I going to do on a Saturday. Surely another good protest would have been not to buy the shirt but sadly given by the number today any such campaign would be coming a little late I agree its difficult to give up, and its easy for me to say because I no longer live in the North East but we have to think of it as (excuse the cliche) "short term pain - long term gain". Would only have to be for, say 1 season. If the club got only 5,000 season ticket applications for next season, the PLC are going to shit themselves and they would have to act. Until we start reacting and fighting back FFS is just going to sit back and laugh at us all.
