Another 10 question toon quiz on nufc.com today. Admittedly I can't be arsed to post the questions on here but worth a look. I've answered the 1st 9 questions but stumped on the last. Who made their final premiership appearance for NUFC in May 2018, 30 months after their previous one? Answers tomorrow to find out how well I've done.

It is Robson, they used to chant it at him in the derbies. Also about him pissing himself. He was pissing himself laughing at that lot most of the time ☺

What a wasted opportunity that was. That cup was there for the taking that year. Was convinced even we couldn't blow it when we went 2-0 up in the tie. Should have known better of course. Looking back I was on a downer for days, maybe weeks on the back of that result. Would still love to care as much these days.

I read that their u18s have lost every league game this season. Is it really that good?

? Happy birthday KK you absolute legend. One of the greatest ever to be associated with this once great club.

A groundhopping mission to Lincoln v Rotherham last night. 1-0 Rotherham, backed by 1745 fans. Good atmosphere. Nice city Lincoln.

I tell myself i'm not interested and undoubtedly i'm not half as interested as i've been over the years but i couldn't help feel my heart beat once we conceded the 1st then shouting loudly when we got the winner. Before that just generally shouting at the telly in anger and frustration as we did our best to throw it away. -
I agree. I fear this is the only way we'll ever be rid of him. God knows who'll inherit the club. Still no guarantee of real change.

I'm sure there are hard working, honourable people behind the scenes at SAFC but ultimately the vast majority on wearside hate NUFC and wish nothing but ill on the city of Newcastle and its people. Fk them. I'd happily see them go out of business.

Can't say we haven't had the luck of the draw this season. To potentially reach the last 8 without playing a premier league team is as good as it gets. I'll be surprised if we take advantage of it though. -
Ref Bobby Madeley who iirc sent Coloccini off at the SOS in a 3-0 mackem win a few years back has been sacked for filming a video mocking a disabled person according to BBC sport. Good riddance.

I don't expect much from the next 3 league games. Leicester and Chelsea at home either side of Wolves away. Wouldn't be surprised to lose the lot.

I think it's a case of a lot of fans being simply less interested since Rafa wasn't given any incentive to stay. Proof if ever it was needed the owner has no desire for the club to progress. That's the bottom line despite current form. Enjoy the wins, enjoy going to the game if you're still interested enough. Got to admit that life feels emptier since i stopped going but it must be remembered that ultimately MA couldn't care less about progress and i wish people could see beyond the good results. People are'nt bothering to buy one off tickets v less glamorous opposition.

It's not crap though. At this point we are better off than last year. Whether it lasts is up for debate / probably unlikely, but at the minute it's a fact. That doesn't mean Bruce is a better manager, just that we are doing better at present. And there lies the annoyance. While it may be a fact we've got more points than this stage last season, as you say that doesn't make Bruce a better manager. IMO merely quoting the 'Got more points' sentence suggests we're in better hands than under Rafa. We've got more points but this club IS NOT better off since the summer. It's a short sighted view to suggest we are. How can you accuse me of being short sighted when I've actually said it's unlikely to last? That's part of the problem now people aren't allowed to judge anything in a positive way ever. The evidence is above with people claiming more points is irrelevant. Its not, its (however temporarily it may be) better. You've picked that up wrong. I wasn't accusing you personally as you can at least see it doesn't necessarily make Bruce a better manager. Some can't see past good results and forget the problems within the club. Shearer wasn't talking crap in the respect that what he said was factual but what he said suggests the club is now better off under Bruce than Rafa. Crap IMO.

Won his first 3 games. Drew today?

Their fans were still bad in the 2nd relegation season, despite being already down themselves. Their fans come across as weird bellends, but I can totally see why fans of other clubs like to goad our fans. As a collective we're easy targets and really don't help ourselves. Goad? Aye, maybe. To go to the lengths of taking specially painted bed sheets, twice. Bewildering.
-
I'm quite confident the first 2 would still be here had we given Rafa enough encouragement to stay. Tried and tested goal scorers. Instead we're having to chance our luck with Bruce, ASM and Joelinton.
-
Went in to work last night and sat for a cuppa in the canteen before my shift. Talk amongst colleagues turned to how much Mourhinio would get at Spurs. Someone chipped in with 'Well Rafa was on good money' then the icing on the cake was this bell end who has only had his ST for a couple of seasons and before then was a plastic Man U fan pipes up and says 'We're playing better football under Bruce'. If anyone thinks that then fair enough but i can't stand the suggestion we've dodged a bullet by losing Rafa. Went to work in a decent mood but it went downhill from there.

The bit in the original HTT post about us selling everything black and white, pencil cases etc and grannies wanting replica shirts, why can't anyone see that potential? Prospective buyers that is. There must be someone out there...PLEASE! -
It must stick in their throats that while they languish mid table in league one and having to play in the 1st round of the FA cup in a sparse stadium, their neighbours with an owner who is anti progress and couldn't give a f**k are only 2 points off 5th in the top tier. We're not even trying man.

We're doing surprisingly well and so credit where credit's due. What annoys me is that some almost have a 'See, we're better off with Bruce than Rafa' attitude. Only Rafa knows why he ultimately left and no doubt money was a big factor but i don't believe he was given any real incentive to hang around. Having seen the way previous managers have been treat here, Keegan, Hughton, Rafa, we're left with a managers job no credible manager wants to touch. That's why we're left with someone like Bruce, who is in my opinion someone simply prepared to take the job rather than being a manager of choice.
