  1. Yes, the HMRC "Newcastle Regional Centre" at Benton Park View (BPV) in North Newcastle, is not owned by the Reubens, but the new 'Pilgrim Quarter' HMRC site in the City Centre is owned by them. HMRC are moving there from BPV in 2027, I don't think there is any involvement with the DWP Department.
  2. Yes that is often said, but though it was the same "idea", it was relatively very small fry.
  3. Yes, that was very strange and very far removed from reality!
  4. Well aware of that, but the "big two" sugar-daddy clubs are Chelsea and Man City. Everton and some others are far more "low-profile", and are not in the same bracket as those two (and now us) for sheer wealth.
  5. Yes, Chelsea were the first real big-time "sugar-daddy" club in England. Man City were the second and I would imagine that many supporters of other clubs reckon that we are the third !!!

I do not have any 'stats' to back it up, but most of us can expect to live beyond 80, that's for sure. Both my parents lived past that age, and neither of them looked after themselves in the way that we keep getting told to these days, and in fact both of them smoked very heavily most of their lives.

Most definitely not. It is a good age, but most definitely not a crazy age any more.

Yes, she has done well, but 94 isn't really classed as "all that old / lucky to live that long" these days.
  9. Yes, we are currently in Tier 4, in the "FA Women's National League Division 1 North", so it will take a while to get through the leagues. This the structure . . . Tier 1 – FA Women’s Super League Tier 2 – FA Women’s Championship Tier 3 – FA Women’s National League - Northern Premier Division / Southern Premier Division Tier 4 – FA Women’s National League – Division 1 North, Midlands, South East, South West
  10. I don't think I could live without this RTG lot now, they make me laugh and laugh so much every single day. If I actually stop and think about it, I feel that I should ring 999 and send a fleet of ambulances to them, they are in such a bad way. However I can't be bothered, I prefer to just laugh, and laugh, and L A U G H !!!!!!!!!!!!

  13. My apologies! By the way, what is FFP called this week??
  14. If you mean me, I said FFP (etc) as I cannot yet remember "this weeks" name for it!! (If that is what you are saying?)
  15. We are now being run by extremely intelligent and capable people, exactly 100% the opposite of the situation prior to last October. It is difficult to get your head around the extreme extent of the difference. We have an endless supply of "potentially available" finance, we know that and so does everybody else. The very rich people of this world know how to manage their money, that is how they became rich, so our new owners will want optimum value for money out of every penny they spend on our behalf. I doubt if we will ever have a 'budget' to spend, in the normal/accepted sense, but we will not squander money, you can tell that more clearly the more experiences we have with our owners, the better we get to know them and their strengths. They intend to fully comply with FFP (etc) and their ambition is to produce a financially sound, stable, well managed, admired by others, and ultimately permanently successful football club. Those principles, we will come to learn, will underpin everything they do, and how and when they do it. To me, our long term future just gets more and more E X C I T I N G by the day.
  16. Yes, Wood scoring goals would be a great bonus, and I think he will do that, inevitably this coming season with the team having more possession as our standards of play improve under Howe and with new players. Wood also does provide other contributions to team-play, as mentioned earlier.
  17. It is in Kings Quad at Newcastle University, and was unveiled in 2017 . . .
  18. And my parents met Dr King when he came to the house where we were living on 13th November 1967 . . . https://www.skyscrapercity.com/threads/remembering-historic-newcastle-old-photos-maps-even-stories.982536/post-54175633
  19. Yes, the twinning of Newcastle and Atlanta, and the "Friendship Force" that followed it, all came out of Jimmy Carter's 1977 visit to Newcastle and I was there, skiving off from work on 6th May 1977. I didn't have any kind of zoom-lense on my little Kodak Instamtic Camera, so 'Photo Six' shows how close I got to JC at one point . . .
  20. I am still hoping that they will replace "Mike Ashley's Portable TV" that is stuck on the wall at the Leazes End, with a proper BIG screen. The current "Giant TV Screen" was installed in 2014, and it turned out to be a little bit smaller than it was initially made out to be . . . https://www.skyscrapercity.com/threads/st-james-park-nufc-off-the-field-activities-stadium-issues-transfers-takeovers-history-of-club-etc.458915/post-118222118 THIS is what we thought was going to happen . . . https://www.skyscrapercity.com/threads/st-james-park-nufc-off-the-field-activities-stadium-issues-transfers-takeovers-history-of-club-etc.458915/post-118096691
