Partly think this was half the reason he was hired, they knew he was no good and would probably take the heat off Ashley for a while. Turn the concentration on to Bruce and away from the real issue. Probably why Charnley has got a lot more vocal recently too because he knows he's inciting hatred and again that takes focus away from Ashley and on to another of his patsy shoe lickers.

It would take a multitudinous set of lucky/clever decisions/circumstances to get us anywhere near the solid foundations Rafa had us built upon. 3 years work dismantled in 2 months and it's a long road back and one that won't be taken by choice. Ashley is pig headed enough to believe NUFC in its current guise is still worth North of £350m though, we need it to cost him money to run before he jacks it in to the highest bidder.

f***ing hell. 2 games in and already publicly saying that we're just trying to stay up. What a time to be alive. the standards have been reduced to the levels of no hopers, incredible turnaround from the latter end of last season It gets harder and harder every season because other clubs buy the players that are needed to improve their team rather than who might make a profit in a year or 2 you doylem (Shelvey). Ashley's recipe for profit is unsustainable, we'll be lucky to remain a yo-yo club when so many teams in the Championship have greater vision and desire to be better.

6-0 2 more injuries, need to run more

Just another way to "balance" the books and take more money out the club no doubt.

0-1 HT 4-1 FT

What he fails to mention is that in 2018 Ashley chose to take £33m out of the club to repay some short term loans instead of allowing Rafa some needed transfer funds. What was the priority for club funds again baldy??

Totally agree on this, once Brewcie gets his feet firmly under the table and he's binned the fancy dan foreign muck for English blood and thunder and we're still getting whacked at the bottom of the table opinions will change. However that will just lead the press to confirm we're deluded and fickle like they've always said, double edged sword I'm afraid. No offense lads but that stuff is just pathetic horseshit, aye he's crap but his signing in his past jobs are from all over the world, he's many things but not what you're inferring there like. Exactly. He doesn't care if you're black, brown, yellow (orientals make very good workers). And he's signed El-Mohammady seven times. Ffs guys I wasn't suggesting he was racist or anything like that, I was having a dig at his dinosaur "tactics" and inability to deal with flair much like most other PFMs who prefer good old blood and thunder, sliding tackles and big lumping strikers to punt it to, give me some credit. Hell no boy, this is the internet

Not sure if this has been mentioned at any time: https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/bruce-never-dreamed-managing-newcastle-1455506.amp?__twitter_impression=true BY JAMES HUNTER12:00, 5 JUN 2009UPDATED13:23, 27 FEB 2013 NEW Sunderland boss Steve Bruce insists it was never his dream to manage his boyhood idols Newcastle. Bruce left his post at Wigan to sign a three-year contract on Wearside this week, admitting that this was the chance he had been waiting his whole managerial career for.

That’s just a lazy comment. Bruce can be criticised of a lot of things but he knows what is good or bad defending. Stop hoping the worst of the players; we’ve some decent ones, when they don’t improve as a team then Bruce will get everything he deserves.
-
I genuinely don't care, honestly. But when people are writing off players as duds 5 mins into their debut, and the likes it is just so bloody stupid. They're just on here to spew their hate man. Why bother watching then? This club is so utterly revolting at the minute. Every single thing about it. I don't think we'll ever see the best of the players we've bought with Bruce in charge, can't really judge them when they've got no clear instruction on tactics or even position it would seem today. Like buying a brand new Ferrari and putting a blind man in the drivers seat.

KaKa[/member] come on man, if you can't see the difference between the beginning of last season where we were solid and well drilled and had a game plan that we stuck to until it became second nature and the results inevitably came in and today's absolute amateur hour then there's no hope for you. I know you like to look for the positives mate but that's really clutching at straws, it's only going to get worse from here don't do it to yourself man

It's such forced cheese is beyond cringeworthy now, he couldn't lay it on any thicker at this point, I can't wait for it to all blow up in his face and the mask to drop when it turns against him, sickening!

HTT is a forum legend not a wum some people need to wind their necks in. Fwiw I'm kind of torn myself, can't fathom backing Brewcie but I'm still interested in how the game pans out. I'm sure I'll regret it if I end up watching it.

Has to be, how can you compare premier league seasons over a decade apart? Agenda driven, absolutely. Rather than try and defend his stance he just keeps saying it's "imterestimg" to him.
-
That's the mentality you're dealing with. I'll see your ridiculous quote and raise you this one:
-
Wow, just wow, the level of idiocy on the comment thread is off the chart, it's like the last 12 year's didn't happen. That's just brought my blood pressure right up! I was going to start commenting back but I just closed the page down before I had a coronary. I blame the chronicle in part for what I've just read, most of their arguments are factually incorrect and a few simple articles over the last few years could have educated the masses on what's actually happened and why.
-
He's made some very insular comments but from his perspective and taken this season in isolation then I can't blame him. He's not a fan so he hasn't been through 12 years of this hell. Proof in point that players should stick to the football and steer clear of the politics.
-
Its hard to gauge the outside world when social media flips and flops as much as it does! From the initial anger of Rafa leaving it seemed like everyone had enough, then recently after a few buys and wor Brewcie in charge it's felt like the tide has turned and we're in the minority. If those ticket counts are accurate, plus those that have season tickets but won't be attending then it's looking much better than feared.
