The London thing is definitely a factor, but mainly because of the lack of ambition, would London still be a major pull away from a Newcastle United side fighting for cup competitions and challenging for top 6 aspirations? Success and ambition along with a highly decorated manager have a huge pull. Ashley is and will always be the problem, not geographic location.

Had Wet Spam to win on a £5 no lose bet, so I'll get that back. Backed it up with a 6 fold man u, Leeds, Roma, Fulham, Burnley and Porto, just waiting on Porto 1-0 up 70 mins played. Looking like a good weekend so far!

That's why I'm happy that we've got Rafa, he aint just gonna shut up and be satisfied with no ambition whatever. Such a vindication for fans after being told to be appreciative of a train of yes men. http://fangirlish.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/tumblr_ogpw4lh21o1v4zif4o2_500.gif

Was just thinking this, if you'd have said they wanted him 6 months ago, I'd have driven him there myself. But since he's got his head down and his gob shut he's been an integral part of that solid back line, no fuss, but solid.

Hope it's a pressure off game from us rather than an on the beach game, should get something from this. Onwards and upwards! -
Its in the Rafa thread, he was really happy tbf
-
Whether he scores or not he's completely changed the dynamic of the team and given us a sharper edge up front, worth the money just for that

Those kind of bets are my favourites Shouting at my screen for Igor Coronado to score that 74th minute penalty, he didn't let me down and now I'm 1 win away from £40 Last game was a hair raiser but NEC came out on top 3-2 to bag me the £40 win, happy days! Toon win and this!
-
Great performance, great goal and that turn in the box that skinned his man and left him 1 on 1 with the keeper at a tight angle was worthy of a goal too. Unstoppable at the moment, love the little fucker.

Had £1.60 in my betting account left over from the weekend, got a 6 fold on: Guangzhou R and F (win) Maccabi Herzliya (win) Chiangrai United (win) Hapoel Marmorek (win) Al Sharjah (open) 80th minute penalty puts them 2-1 up NEC Nijmegen (Open) 7pm KO £40 return for a completely uninformed random bet

If/when they go up they haven't the money to compete in the Champo unless they get a cash injection from somewhere anyway. They need major investment or they'll just become another lower league yo-yo club.

There's always this mention of oh we haven't got the Mitro money that comes in over the course of x years, just like the oh we haven't got the Sissoko Money it comes in over x years. But hey we've got money coming in from loads of transfers, yearly, that hasn't disappeared. So maybe we haven't the £20m we sold x player for but we've a £5m pay out for that player and a dozen more layouts equalling more than the £20m we got for x player. Lying, manipulating cunts.

The only high street businesses that are thriving are betting shops and cheap shops. Pile em high and sell em cheap, I.e. SD, Primark, etc... will always thrive in a cash strapped society. People disregard ethical issues if it means they can get their clobber for a fraction of the price of the usual high street. If Susan can get her Friday night on the lash top for £3 rather than £30 then the kids can eat too then she doesn't really care if some 3 year old Indian orphan hand stitched it in some asbestos ridden warehouse. Equally, if Susan can buy little Johnny's footy boots for school at a 10th of the price of JD so she can have a couple more ciders at the weekend then she doesn't give a shit if some woman had a miscarriage on the toilet because she was too scared of losing her job. More needs to be done about the ethics of these businesses but no one wants to say anything because in a time of financial inequality they can't afford the alternative. I will, have and do pay extra to keep my money out of Ashley's pocket but can you blame people on the breadline for keeping him afloat? I hate the guy as much as the next fan and I hope he fucks off some time soon, but he has cornered the market for the working class affordability.

Aye, it's about time he got a taste of his own medicine, it's been a long time coming, hopefully the first of many! He's too brass neck to realise that on this occasion he's reaping what he has sowed, everyone else is a cunt and he's just trying to be a saviour. It won't even cross his tiny little mind that it's testament to his unethical bullshit that a company would rather go under and lose everything than put its fate in his greedy little hands.

I could see the club going for another foreign manager, but while that manager may be nice and play good football they won't have the same vision Benitez has for the club and will be happy to impress for 2 years and then leave for somewhere better like Yovil and Crawley Town

Eh - WTF?!? Does metro man live in Sunderland?! "I can't speak for all mags - but all those I do know say 'Haway'." Saying he remembers "Hawaii 5 oh" not "Howaii 5 oh" when even a quick Google search of the DVD cover shows it's "Howay 5 oh" ffs. Just had a quick browse and one thing I notice, they argue with their lies and history rewriting until they're blue in the face, but as soon as actual undesputable facts are laid down in front of them the immediate response is "Why are you on a rivals message board 24/7 It's sad, you're obsessed, fuck off mag"

I thought defensively and team shape wise we held up well against the Premier League’s joint 2nd most formidable team at home To limit Arsenal to just 7 attempts at home must have been their lowest shot totals at home all season. Thought Shelvey should have came on at 1 v 0 late on though to offer us some good forward passes. I was thinking this too, we were clearly pegged back and our best chance to get anything would have been a ball over the top to Almiron, surprised Shelvey didn't make an appearance tbh.
-
Arsenal, as expected, the much better team but we haven't put up much of a fight tbh. Definitely one of our poorer performances this season, Rafa won't be happy with this at all.
-
And off goes the tv ?
-
If I was an opposition manager I wouldn't bother marking Almiron half the fooking time, waste if a player when Richie is on the ball ffs
-
Arsenal making us look poor tbh, they're cutting us open freely but that last ditch defending is keeping us in it. They're first to pretty much everything at the moment, ball hasn't really fallen for us in the first half. Richie to Almiron is beyond a joke now!
