  1. Gutted if true about Garde, Shteev isn't that bad an appointment but seems a kick in the bollocks after the names that have been mentioned. However doesn't seem to reflect the image of the Head Coach described by Penfold.
  2. I don't care that he's doing well for them, good luck to them, enjoy it while it lasts. His time here was well beyond what it should have been, he should have left at least 2 years ago and that's all I need to know. He's had his limelight once, fucked it up and ended up dropping down the leagues. Inexplicably we gave him a second bite of the cherry, it won't be long before he's sinking again and becomes irrelevant. He's irrelevant to Newcastle United now and that's all that matters!
  3. It's possible that the silence has ensued after they've met and the club have asked Garde to keep silent for whatever reason and that's why France has been quiet for a while. I doubt it though tbh, I'm just not hopeful over this appointment. Literally no point in trying to second guess Ashley, f*** knows what's going on, but at least the pendulum has swung away from Carver and there has been no denial or ruling out from either camp about Garde and as long as it stays that way, there is hope. True enough. How's the pendulum swung away from Carver btw? I've just woke up with a hangover. Without reading through it all again, it was along the lines of the club needs to hire a coach soon, whether that be him or someone else. When asked if he was out of the running after today's result he admitted that he probably was as it is a results based business and it's not been good enough. Well, thank f*** I suppose if that's the case. Can't blame the guy for wanting his dream job, can only blame the club for considering someone who's clearly not good enough. Now they just need to make the right decision. Just once it'd be nice if they did something professional like. Press conference tomorrow giving Garde time before the next game etc. ....you're still drunk aren't you?

As much as he was in the wrong for the way he acted in Pardew's defence and has been tainted by proxy of Pardew, coupled with the fact he's simply not good enough; a) you cannot blame him for applying for his dream job and b) you have to respect him for admitting he's out of his depth and having the clubs best interest at heart. I have more respect for him in these 3 weeks than I had in 4 years of Pardew. Having said that I won't be gutted to see him replaced if Garde comes in with his own back room.

Aye, I can strangely put up with him a bit more than Pardews punchable face but my f***ing word I would cry if he got it. He talks about Souness regime as if he wouldn't totally ruin us in that way if he got the job. Now we may all be totally wrong about him and he may well have a sound football philosophy and being at the club he loves will trigger it, but I think we all know that's not going to be the case and he is just a rambling fuckpig who holds Pardew in the same regard as Bobby and Keegan probably. 2 managers that you believed when they spoke and results and performance showed how class they were f***ing Souness man, the only appointment that was more ridiculous than Palace paying for Pardew, at least Pardew had us top 10 we PAID for a manager that was sat at the bottom of the table with a demoralised Blackburn ffs. Carver is a mistake, a big mistake and if your trying to rationalise an argument against that you need your head checked! We deserve better and should absolutely be aiming higher. Yeah, I'm really not trying to rationalise I reckon it would be catastrophic. When Souness was appointed I called it, sat with my mate I said he would put us back 10 years, it was worse than appointing Dogleash after Keegan. Going from a forward thinking progressive manager to defensive boring s*** was never going to work. We have the opportunity to do it the other way around again and I hope to f*** we choose well I wasn't suggesting you were rationalising it, it was a general observation that some were, like they're trying to kid themselves it's not the nightmare decision it actually is. It's that kind of thinking that got Pardew 4 years and keeps Ashley safe from all his mental decisions. I totally agree, we've been put in a great position to kick on and undo some of the shit that has preceded this moment and it feels like our grip is loosening. We're in danger of perpetuating the rot rather than putting an end to it.

  12. That Nolan chance at the end, man. It's already probably the most dramatic game of the last 20-odd years but it could have been even better. That Nolan chance at the end, man. It's already probably the most dramatic game of the last 20-odd years but it could have been even better. We'd rather lose 4-3 than win 1-0? No, but we'd rather a balls to the wall 4-4 than a soul destroying backs to the wall 0-0. When Nolan went in I thought that was it, if we had Fergie time that day we'd have won no doubt.
  13. Back to the last page, the last time I really enjoyed a game was definitely the 4-4 it had everything, backs to the wall quickly changed to balls to the wall, I honestly thought we were going to win that game. When that Tiote goal went in I was screaming like a stuck pig
  14. Just been out come back and read this page too, heart stopped for a second, nearly had the blood of two people on your hands there Taylor_j hang your head in shame! Although the two page fuckup probably serves as punishment enough

It is worrying but I'm trying to believe we're not that stupid, though I'm probably setting myself up for more disappointment. I doubt the Chronic know much to be honest (do they ever?). The not knowing just makes you fear the worst and I think we've still got a couple of weeks to wait for any kind of confirmation from the club.
  16. That's going to become an official measurement of worth now isn't it?
  17. Totally has my (unqualified) vote the sexy French bastard.
  18. Oh yeah that winning run was good too, actually played some good stuff and I actually thought the penny dropped with Pardew. Never made that mistake again. Agreed. I didn't like our summer spending but Pardew did a bait and switch talk in which sounded lush and I genuinely believed 4-3-3 with HBA, Cisse, Ba, Cabaye and beating Spurs at home that we were gonna compete again. f***ing idiot I was for thinking that. Pardew was an idiot for stumbling on a winning formula and not sticking to it/adapting his team sheet when Ba started sulking, don't be too hard on yourself Kanji
  19. Newton's third law "every force must have an equal and opposite force" we had to endure some awful shit luck just having Pardew before it swung round the other way and some complete nutjob PAID us for the fucker!

  22. Not all threads need to supply information or debate, we made the NWOAT thread for its chaos factor. Really? Nothing? I thought that was a good one! Disappointed here.

Carver also said today that he hasn't even spoken to Ashley about the job, can only be good news surely?
