I think we'll be tight and give them nothing, they'll either scrape another lucky 1-0er or we'll take the game in the last 25-30 minutes with subs.

It's either Gordon up front and Big Jow on the left or vice-versa

I guess none of those questions were on reading comprehension? Important word "mostly" changes the meaning of the statement quite a bit.

New level of schadenfreude unlocked: 1. They told us to shut up and sit down when Ashley was ripping us to pieces. 2. They are arrogant and mostly unknowledgeable supporters. 3. They ruined the Keegan party and football for most other supporters for years. 4. They're part of the rotten 6 that tried to stop us rising up. I hope we add insult to their misery tonight, I would love it, love it if we beat them on their own turf...

I think the same, you only have to look at what we did against Man City, change it up, keep it tight and bring on the big guns in the 2nd half and nick it then if they're needed.

Given the situation with Isak, Wilson starts on the bench for me and only comes on if/when we need him. Switch the fullbacks out for Livra and Targett and give Hall a start on the left. Other than that, pretty much full strength.

Ultimately the best thing for the club is a higher league finish, for the money, the European competition and the ability to fish in the best pond for players. As a fan the priority will always be silverware, whatever form that takes but I understand if we play a slightly weakened side for this having seen the gap from 6th to top 5 extend to 5 points this weekend and dropping into 3rd in our CL group. No one believes we can win the PL or the CL but another top 4(5) finish and a last 16 place speaks louder than a LC win unfortunately.

We'll 100% see some rotation, Trippier looked badly fatigued yesterday and big Joe is still making his way back. Howe won't want to mix it up too much buy definitely conscious of the amount of games mounting up. Can see Hall, Targett and Lovramento starting, maybe Wilson on the bench and Gordon starts up front.

Looks that way, game suspended, players surrounded him after he collapsed off the ball

Not clear and obvious, has to be a pen

There was contact, definite pen

Wish we'd stop with those punts up field when we have a second to think and place a pass, just inviting pressure
-
Bruno is back to his best, been unreal so far in both directions
-
Quality instinctive strike by Callum

Bayern just had a player sent off in the 4th minute, what do you have to do to get sent off in 4 minutes?? Edit: Also, Chelsea

There's a lot of talk about empathy and support for an addict and I'm willing to give him that if he makes an apology because so far Tonali has only spoken about Tonali. If he's waiting for the ban hammer to land then fair enough, but at the moment there's been nothing publicly said about the club and fans from him.

Champions League 2023/2024: Group F (Newcastle, Milan, Dortmund, PSG)

Also think it's unnecessarily negative to be looking at 3rd already, I'm very confident Howe won't be and will still be convinced he can top the group.

Coming off the back of 9 games undefeated and beating the likes of PSG and Man City in that run certainly adds to the disappointment of tonight. When you're riding a crest it always feels worse when you get knocked off. Howe will have us firing on all cylinders again by Saturday.
-
A draw away will be enough but we need PSG to run away with it and a win at home to Milan.

They came for the smash and grab and it paid off for them, we weren't out classed or battered, we were out maneuvered. I'm not annoyed by this loss, can't really point the finger anywhere, I'm just frustrated. On a different day we're sat top of the table and we're all slapping each others backs.

This is it for me, losing Isak took the bite out of our midfield and allowed them to cut through our press and then the goal allowed them to sit deep and make us do all the work knowing we'd struggle, frustrating night.

The whole ref team was poor tonight, Dortmund got away with so many niggly fouls to stop our counter without so much as a hint of a yellow and the penalty appeal wasn't even considered by VAR. Dortmund did their homework, set up well, defended well and looked dangerous on the counter. Second half we turned the screw but for the woodwork we could have gone on to win it. As for the players, Joelinton looked off the pace, Gordon looked our best player again, Tripper was off his game and with a delivery like that from Targett I'm not sure why he didn't deputise when he came on, wicked cross from the free kick. Losing Isak felt like the turning point and it just turned out to be an extremely frustrating night. We get a second crack at the whip, albeit away from home, we still need a couple of wins to stand a chance of going through. We need to forget about this quickly and get back to winning ways.
