Agreed Isak was legit known about as a huge up and coming talent and had some decent seasons behind him already I didn't think oh we'd overpaid, was happy with the deal Hojlund at 72m is overpaying - only one good season, not much of a reputation beforehand Since PIF came in, the only overpaying we've done on a player is Wood at the release clause but that was necessary. This one is great - except Solano under Roeder was old and slow by that point. I would put Ben Arfa on the RW and ASM on the left - and then for supersub you could have Martins (or even Solano) for Roeder. Would also go with Batty under Dalglish over Hamann - he got PFA team of the year in 1998 when we finished 13th (as well as the year before)!

He has had to redesign his all systems go philosophy on the fly so naturally it's going to take some tweaking to get it working. The result is measured controlled high performances that is sustainable and should minimise injury. Tonali wasn't available in pre season remember and Bunce had only just come in. As did Mitchell, plus the chaos of the summer window. It's not a surprise that he needed some time to figure it out but I do think this is now very well set up and bodes excitingly. However a system is only as good as it's quickest point of failure. It's very heavily reliant on Isak (so needs backup) and Tonali/Bruno and also Schar. So we do need adequate backup in case the spine is out.
