  1. Chiesa is probably a better fit for the team in terms of needing a RW more than a RAM for 4-3-3 than Szobzolai. So all is forgiven if we can actually secure him - there is definitely method to the madness
  2. If Shearer was still THAT Shearer after 97, there's no way he would have stayed through the Dalglish / Ruud Gullit era, he would have gone / been snapped up at once. We probably wouldn't have finished 13th either to be fair.
  3. Who would you rather, Chiesa or Szobzolai? A few years ago it would defo have been Chiesa. Just have to hope the injuries are healed and if so then very high ceiling
  4. Tbh I wouldn’t mind both Chiesa and Pulisic. It sorts out that position long term even in term of depth. Pulisic is cheap and had explosive potential that can be re-Howed. Chiesa on loan to start with would be a good move too. For 30m for both can’t go wrong.
  5. Barnes is this summers Harrison
  6. Chelsea at this point are an investment entity. Literally buying young assets that will appreciate in value. Pure cynical capitalist approach with sporting project a clear second. All the signings are young it’s like they’re trying to be a premium version of Southampton or Brighton instead of the CL club used to winning things
  7. This would hurt as a miss more than Szob and Maddison
  8. Those three would be great but Chiesa and Tierney have their fair share of injury issues so would be a signing light in attack
  9. What I am concerned about is that everything is slow and almost too measured. Angelo who we’ve been linked to for years has gone for only 12m to Chelsea after they took the other young Brazilian we’ve been linked with in January Andrey Santos. So even the gems we’re not quick enough with and the likes of Minteh are not highly rated where we’ve fought off others to get, even the team he plays for said they didn’t expect move so soon as he’s so raw. The calibre we are targeting is excellent and where the big boys are shopping also but we don’t seem ruthless enough in getting the deal done.
  10. Yes Veiga would be good but Tonali and Veiga is less impressive than Mac Allister and Szobsolai
  11. Yes agreed this one was perfect defo this seasons Pacqueta but at least put out of our misery early cant think of an alternative tbh Olmo perhaps, Wirtz. Guler slightly different. Even Kvaradona is different style. It was the fact he was the right age to slot straight in and had leadership experiences etc he was right profile off the pitch too.
  12. It’s a frustrating miss with Szob gone Maddison gone and if Guler goes, anyone else will feel a huge anti climax. Even Diaby now doesn’t have the same appeal as it did last summer.
  13. Also if dominik had liked konates post it’s semi relevant but this way around means nothing
  14. I understand the whole quality not quantity mantra but when you look at our squad depth it really does feel thin and that a couple of free transfers would have been useful at this stage. FFP is really going to hamstring us from accelerating so it may that this season was the first promotion season under Keegan 93/94 finishing 3rd, and this coming season will be a 1994/95 type season where after a decent start we end up falling to 6th/7th.
  15. We should give the father 20M, it wouldn't come under FFP so it's essentially a 40m signing for 20m on the books
  16. If we could only buy 1 more main and 1 young it would be Szob and Guler. The attacking midfield positions would be sorted for the next few years, with Wilson replacement or young striker next year. Could get away with Targett at LB for another half season until Jan. Defence was already fairly solid. Both of those signings plus Tonali would make us much more potent as that was an area we struggled last year. An elite LB or RCB or even DM wouldn't be as transformational as those two to us.
  17. Yeah Danilo to Forest too. Shame, would have liked both Santos and Roque too. Instead, they'll probably go out on loan and be 'one for the future'. Look at the impact Danilo had at Forest, some of these guys are seriosly talented and can make an impact in the first team
  18. Ben Arfa has all of Ginolas trickery and then some all of Robert’s power and end product and then sadly N’Zogbias moodiness and even Obertan’s mindset
  19. This is the difference between Man City and UAE, vs us with Saudi. I read that the CL final was only the second game the owner has ever attended. In 15 years! as professional and elite run as they are, I’d much rather having that elite level thinking but also mixed in with passion as it’s what the club and area thrives on
  20. Every AC Milan fan I've read refers to the 'Moneyball' project the American investors are trying to set up. And how all US investors are the same, only there for money whereas the Arabs are there for glory. I do get what they mean. It just seems wrong for a storied historical club with plenty of honours to be used in that kind of way. Brentford, Brighton I undersand. Even if it was a Deportivo La Coruna who have fallen on bad times, or a Fiorentina. But this is like taking Bayern Munich, Liverpool or Real Madrid and making them second rate, the odd superstar but everyone's got a price. Obviously we have nowhere near the honours roll of AC Milan but it was the same with Ashley, keep it tight, do just enough, let Graham Carr find gems, sell high etc. But don't do it at a club like Newcastle, do it somewhere where they'll actually appreciate dining at the top table and just being there, without competing. AC Milan aren't used to having their crown jewels sold, they are used to buying others. crown jewels, Rui Costa, Shevchenko, Baggio, Lentini, Desailly, Papin, etc. Don't know why the investors get this so wrong time and time again.
  21. Szob-o-lai, thank you very much, I need some one with a great first touch Stop right now, Spice Girls I'll get my coat
  22. Should have done Transfer Rumours: Str8888888 like a banana
  23. Have France ever had a poor generation of players? Even the one's that hadn't achieved the heights, had some crazy talent, even our own super talented Ben Arfa was nothing but a fringe player. I remember they didn't qualify for USA 1994, but even then, they had Ginola, Cantona, etc
