  1. Kane has just turned 30 and is only 47 goals behind. He could go to Madrid for two years and still have plenty of time to break the record. Shearer was still scoring at 35 despite all the injuries. Kane could go on longer.
  2. I forgot about Owen in terms of superstars signed but i genuinely was never that bothered about him as by that point Souness was in place
  3. I was slightly too young when we signed Shearer. Didn’t know what was going on. The signing that got me most excited and in dreamland was Kluivert, until Isak to a slightly lesser extent last year. Even Ben Arfa who I was a huge fan of, came in on loan only and in a pretty uninspiring team. But Kluivert came into a good team and so did Isak so I thought it was a sign of going to the next level. I wonder if we get a marquee of that ilk. Even if we buy Dominik or Maddison it’s not a world renowned superstar. I’m not saying I want those kind of names as I’d rather get Botman Bruno types that fit the build we’re doing here. But one name that we should have no way of getting would be amazing
  4. It was interesting on Tifo Podcast they were comparing NUFC to early-Klopp Liverpool which they said peaked in 19/20. Saying that the first signings made by Klopp: Wijnaldum = Bruno Mane = Isak Van Dijk = Botman Alisson = Pope And then comparing the team set-up too Oxlade-Chamberlain = Gordon (as fluid no. 8) Lallana = Willock Keita = Joelinton Henderson = Longstaff Trent = Trippier (i.e. ball playing RB) Which then led them to speculate new signings if following this model Robertson = Tierney (or speedy LB to come in, who pushes on) Salah = new elite RW to come in Fabinho = new CM/DM to come in Matip = Schar replacement perhaps Interesting way of looking at it. 97 point season, here we come

Unlike his playing days then you mean
  6. I know forest are probably sick to death of NUFC cast offs by now but Lascelles genuinely is one that would make sense and be a good move, leadership material, CB was a struggle for them last season and he could really help them re establish and consolidate as a PL club while chipping in with a few goals too
  7. An equivalent shock to Isak relative to where we are now would the upper echelon of player who is still young, for example a Musiala, Bellingham or Pedri/Gavi. I would have put Felix in this category but think he’s gettable now.
  8. Sulemana at Southampton was linked before. Could be the Kuol on the left hand side. Defo worth a bid
  9. Player of the Season: Trippier Most Improved Player of the Season: Schar Most Disappointing Player: Gordon Signing of the Season: Isak Goal of the Season: Murphy v Everton (because of Isak awesome assist) Assist of the season: Willock outside of the boot to Isak Game of the Season: NUFC 6-1 Spurs Moment of the Season: Qualifying for Carabao final Manager rating out of 10: 10 Season rating out of 10: 10
  10. They really have had a shocking season. Even Liverpool or Spurs for their standards haven't been THAT bad. This season has been a 2008/09 NUFC type of season, it genuinely could have ended in relegation, such is how bad their form has been. Lampard has akin to a Carver, a 'safe pair of hands' to keep the club 'ticking over' - only to monumentally kill off his dreams of ever being a manager again.
  11. Imagine having a bona fide legend of your club being so bad at management it's ruined a decade of goodwill. It's like if Shearer stayed in 2009 but was so terrible to the point where he's considered one of the worst PL managers of all time. Would tarnish his legacy and name, for sure Quite sad, really
  12. If Chelsea had actually been successful this season with the amount of spend they’ve had the complaints would have been directed more that way im sure. It’s just sour grapes.
  13. Perhaps even better player, and even worse manager if that is even possible
  14. Lodi at Forest actually settled in well in the end. Could be worth hijacking. N’Dicka is pretty fast I believe and available on a free.
  15. Have seen Ronaldo looking to leave Al-Nassr. Do you think he may be pushed on to NUFC by PIF, just from a commercial perspective especially now we have CL. On loan with a lot of the wages subsidised. Howe wouldn’t like the circus but he also understands the commercials. If Ronaldo could be the elder statesman and not the petulant demanding first choice, imagine his experience guiding Isak and also in the Champions League. It would feel elite even at his age. Would require him to drop ego and status which I can’t see him doing though.
  16. The problem with Ashley is that he only knows one way to make money. Cheap and (not-so) cheerful. And that's all he did. So he couldn't adapt or do things in a more high end market. And nothings more high end than the PL. Even a recent BBC article showed his inability to understand the luxury market. The article shows his son in law is now CEO and running the group, and doing quite well focusing on Flannels, the high end part of the group but MA thinks it's bonkers for people to spend that kind of money - https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-65613808 He was the wrong fit completely. Ironically if he bought someone less aspirational, his model may have been deemed decent for someone grateful to have been plucked from obscurity or survive financial meltdown to be competing at a decent level. His lack of due diligence into who NUFC were and what they represented versus his outlook and vision is the core of a lot of the hate and misalignment
  17. Not sure how accurate but I read the 25m from here: https://sportwitness.co.uk/newcastle-targets-price-now-dropping-ahead-summer-e15m-knocked-off-original-figure/
  18. Milinković-Savić apparently available for 25M as he enters final year of contract next year. Him and Dominik Szobolai as the two midfield pickups would be amazing. Although would like Guler too. Longstaff, Joelinton, Joe Willock, Bruno, Milinkovic Savic, Dominik Szobolai, Guler is an absolutely drool worthy midfield It's that mixture of experience and youth, technical ability and guile and bite and creativity, too. Get Vitor Roque to support alongside Wilson and Isak that's looking pretty amazing - for around 120M and 3 additions. Get Guerrerio free agent for LB, N'Dicka free agent for CB and M. Thuram free agent for CF. Then it leaves us with 70-80m for a world class RW - Diaby etc for 60-80m. Job done.
  19. Another cool thing, he was asked was this his greatest ever achievement He said very respectfully, it's the highest profile achievement and will get more recognised in the media What I did with Bournemouth that first season to keep them in the league, that's also up there Completely agree, and a very classy answer to respect both of the clubs he's represented
  20. We should do media stuff more. The last thing we did, Goal! ended up in the happy ending of Newcastle finishing in the Champions League. This one... ditto
  21. The end of Ritchie, Fraser, Dummett, Lewis, and Dubrakva / Gillespie / Darlow. Clark / Hayden / Matty Longstaff / Hendrick released too. Maybe's to leave are: Manquillo, Krafth, Lascelles (I'd rather keep him but he may want first choice somewhere). That's at LEAST 6 of the current 25 spaces available, and up to 9. I'd like to get a mix of 5-6 purples then some talented youngsters like Ashby to make up the other spaces. Minimum purples we need to buy: 2 CM, 1 LB , 1 RCB, 1 RW, 1 CF
  22. Interesting how much better Bruno was with Longstaff next to him… plot twist: Longstaff is actually the Woodgate and Bruno is the Bramble
