  1. Haha it’s what would sort our squad out not saying it’s likely!
  2. I’d like the following GK Costa Jaowen Pope Ramsdale Vlach out LW Ferdandez Pardo el Mala or Nusa Gordon and Barnes out CF Jonathon David RW Alikouche Murphy or Elanga out CM Camara Willock out RB Achempong Tino and Trippier out CB Methalie or Diomande That would give us 9 signings with 8 out but a proper refresh of the squad
  3. Swap David for Wissa

    Interesting and very sad read.
  5. Anderson that season looked incredible in pre season and was unfortunate he injured his back which put him out for months - that would have been his opportunity to get established in the first team and show us exactly what he was about. Joelinton or Willock may have been sold sooner to keep hold of him. He did have some good games though eg the one against spurs where he played left wing
  6. Barca fans who have been blessed with top wingers will get on his back very quickly. Gordon is worse than Rashford.
  7. Ben Arfa esque?! Spend all our budget on him!

If we had gotten the six points from them as expected, we would have been in their position and them lower than us. So those two wins against us effectively got them the Europa League and us with nothing. Even just winning that home game would have meant we finished above them. Fine margins.

    Joe Willock

Willock is also notoriously late to training sessions says a lot about his professionalism

    Harvey Barnes

A proper Villa player, very predictable
  11. The 7th season was actually a good season in terms of the football played, we played great football when we had the players, it was just that period decimated by injuries we fell off a cliff. That was genuinely defensible and we were unlucky not to get some form of Europe for finishing 7th which would have been deserved. This season has been terrible from day one. Absolutely no redeeming qualities at all, even the CL run didn’t have anything remotely close to the PSG 4-1 of the 7th season. The league cup semi’s I don’t think we were that bothered by having deep runs previously especially as league form was so dire. It’s also the fact that we had it in our own hands to salvage the season because everyone else was so poor too, but we could not respond at all. The league high points dropped from winning positions also would suggest we should be nearer 6th but I can’t remember too many games we were robbed or desperately unlucky. In fact the only one I can recall is Liverpool at home in September.
  12. Probably the most forgettable and disappointing season relative to expectations since 2012/13
  13. Having the conviction to get the deal done where needed. So for Rayan if the issue was it'll be cheaper in the summer - then that's a problem. In Jan, we were still in league cup semi's, CL etc - we desperately needed a spark of inspiration, fresh blood can do that. For Guehi - I do understand it got to crazy levels so that probably wasn't the right deal - but again, in hindsight, if he's the player you are going to build the defence around, you get it done a la Van Dijk and Maguire. It was the one deal that would have made that Mitchell summer had it gotten done, even if it was overpriced.
  14. Steven Gerrard would be great. Carrick, Maresca, Arteta, Gerrard, and Alonso, Lampard. All 2000's PL midfielders
  15. I do want them to be more ruthless - like with Rayan, they said we'll wait until summer - no screw that, go and get him ASAP so you don't miss out We have a lot of work to do, shed our transfer lightweights reputation tbh In the first few seasons, we did very well, stealth mode to sign Bruno, Isak, Tonali, bought and then got rid of Wood and even Kelly. The Anderson and Minteh plus Isak deals have wreaked havoc on us from a selling perspective and then buying Vlach, Wissa, Ramsey, Elanga for inflated fees has shown us to be naive, whilst missing out on Guehi, Khusanov, Trafford, Ekitike, Pedro, Sesko, etc shows we are not attractive or ruthless enough to get the deals done. We seem to be penny pinching a lot and being overly cautious. Of course in some cases we were gazumped. I'd like more gems to be polished at good prices - like Bilal Al Khannous for £20m, deals that are an obvious no brainer. There's a lot to turn around in one summer. Let's see if they can do it.
  16. there’s not that many big name directors of football but Mitchell was widely known especially as the guy who signed Son and everyone was overjoyed at his arrival for what it signalled - he had even turned down Man U Eales had worked at WBA and Spurs but even more importantly he had built out Atlanta as a competitive institution from the ground up
  17. Agree he’s more Lua Lua than Shearer or Ba or Isak or even Wilson as frontline strikers we can hang our hat on
  18. That’s not true Ashworth and Mitchell were genuinely elite hires they just didn’t work out Eales was good on paper as was Hopkinson. Suds is highly rated too Some of the attempted purchases do signal attempts to be elite Tonali Trippier Bruno Isak Guehi Olise Szoboslai Ekitike etc theyre trying even though recently they’ve been failing more than previously then the signings of youngsters has probably been the best ever
  19. They seem to hate Joelinton but Gabriel is way worse
  20. He would be great as a sub to bring on to stretch tired defences at Howe's favourite 60 minutes Get a top class finisher with more pedigree for up top We also perhaps need a different type of profile so we have all types Osula is the fast chaotic Asprilla type Woltmade is the silky number 10 type Wissa is the poacher type We need a strong powerful type, like Samu so we have got a mix of styles. Personally would like to see Osula as a winger option who can get goals because he's fast, skillful and two footed. We need someone more clinical at CF
  21. His record at youth level is also extremely promising he had something like 19 goals in 9 games at youth level Shows he can finish and is tricky - once he bulks up and can handle adults he could be an excellent asset

    Jacob Ramsey

Much less explosive but I see what you mean Dyer was actually a great player in hindsight, definitely should have done more with his career Ramsey is good, not sure he is £42m level good though.
  23. We really need players of his ilk - he's going to get frustrated with more Willocks, Elanga's and Murphy's. Tonali, Isak, Hall - baller types, not physical monsters, we have enough of them now.
  24. Can see him go back to Burnley tbh
