We're actually quite evenly matched teams. That first game could be a cracker and I imagine this season it will come down to luck with injuries to determine which side finished higher.

I mean we're only minus Maxi from last season and adding Barnes and Tonali. So in theory we should be better as Maxi didn't actually contribute huge goal and assist numbers and the team was still very competitive last season. But with hopefully going far in many competitions, we will have more games so I agree we will need some people to increase their numbers. Hoping for more goals from Willock this year for example as his finishing at times was the only negative in a great season.

It feels like a classic case of a player the club admires has become available at a price they think is fair. Same as Gordon. However, whether it's right for them to pull the trigger, when those funds could be better spent strengthening other positions, remains to be seen. But I think the club have said on record a number of times if the right player becomes available, then they won't hesitate to act.

There would be loads of PL competition if he was going for that price. Although we do have the Champions League trump card

Yeah. Realistically, the chances of finishing ahead of Liverpool and Chelsea again with their squads is slim. If they get their shit together then both should be pushing hard for 2nd more likely with Arsenal. Unless Man U significantly strengthen this summer, I could see them being the weakest of the top 4 rivals if Rashford doesn't have a similar impressive season. Then we have Spurs, Villa and maybe Brighton as most likely rivals for 5th and 6th. I'd say Villa could possibly be the biggest threat there. So really depends on what we do in the summer. With the extra games and unlikelyhood of as many teams under performing, I'd say top 6 would be a good season.

Surely if the league is more competitive and teams are taking more points off one another, then the overall points haul will be lower? Unless the gap grows further between top ten teams and bottom ten and then there will be higher points totals to get top 4 and lower points totals to avoid relegation.

Without even checking other teams, when we played them I think they scored inside 5 mins and then we scored 3 goals. None of which were a pathetically soft fingertips handball decision. The guy is becoming one of my most disliked opposition managers.
