I've been throwing the names I haven't recognized into Google to find out who they were.

Butt needs to come off for Jonas. It's too simple of a choice though so I don't see it happening. I'd expect someone like Lovenkrands to come on, good ole wor Hughton.

really? i quite enjoy the charm of listening to a radio stream in 2009 This. I love the nostalgia. -
Clearly a British thing you don't understand then. It's something to be proud of, no? I think it's great that we have such high attendances, but I don't see the need to show it off? I promise you that every-day fans of other clubs don't give a fuck what our attendances are. It seems like some weird sense of false-reality that we're holding onto by spouting off how large our attendances are, none of it really matters because unfortunately the people in attendance are watching Championship football and Premiership football.
-
Are we back on this attendance thing again? Why are we making such a fuss about it? Is it all we have to hang on to or is it some British thing I don't understand? As long as we're winning I could give a fuck how many people are there. It seems like some sort of childish cock-size contest to me.

very defensive lineup unfortunately. thought we'd really have a go at it being at home and all. -
What the hell. I saw Frightened Rabbit at my freshers week (in Edinburgh) 2 years ago, and there were seriously no more than 12 people watching. They kept making sarcastic remarks about it and gave out CDs at the end. I thought they werre just another unsigned band, no idea they'd be playing US etc.! I think they're Glasweigan though... They are. I didn't get the specifics on how/why he was a fan as the bar was closing and the bouncers were shuffling everyone out. As far as playing in the US, this was their first tour and apparently the stop last night had the most people (about 350) and they were blown away by it. I think they're on the cusp.

I know those two, unfortunately, what are the other ones that I may/may not know? I also know of the cricket dude who is at most of our matches.

From what I have seen around the Championship, I can conclude that this league really boils down to finishing. We're going to get as many chances as a lot of other teams, but it will come down to if our squad/players can finish or not. We have had a few instances already this season where if we were against better opposition, we would've been in a far different situation - what it boils down to is the fact that a lot of strikers at this level cannot finish. That is why there are so many strikers of the Chopra/Nugent/Doyle/Kitson/Marewood/et. al level floating around - this is the league for strikers that live between the Championship and Premiership who have a knack for putting away chances - especially the ones that they don't normally get at the Premiership level.

Alright, I am "relatively" new to the Newcastle fan-dom - having become a fan of Newcastle in '02. Who are the "famous" NUFC fans? Tonight I went to the Frightened Rabbit show here in Orlando and apparently one of the guitarists (Billy Kennedy) is a huge NUFC fan (according to a dude in We Were Promised Jetpacks). I consider this dude "famous" because their band will be huge after the release of their next album. Who else is there that I wouldn't already know?

Ideally I would love to see out the season (and subsequent promotion) with Hughton and then get in someone who fancies a reclamation project that has a better pedigree than those mentioned in this thread (shearer, strachten, curbishley, etc). Fantasy land though - it's never that easy or that good for NUFC.
-
People probably don't even want it, for reasons stated by Ronaldo above. When you boil it down - too much pressure in the #9 shirt.

Never going to happen here to be honest.

I wouldn't worry too much about affording it, it will be factored into the sale price for the club if it is more than expected - effectively it comes out of Ashley's pocket in the long run. Which unfortunately lowers our chances of being sold that much more. Either way, we can't afford it.
-
No way he can be fit right now.
-
Really hope Keegan loses this court battle. We can't really afford to be paying him out right now to be honest.
