  1. I have always rated Huddlestone. Really composed on the ball and makes a lot of space for himself to have tons of time on the ball. He can also really pick a pass and also isn't afraid to have a rip on goal. All things we're sorely lacking in midfield.
  2. There are a bunch here for the new MLS season: http://www.soccernetstore.com/shop-by-league-mls-chivas-usa.html You've got to click through but there are definitely a few new 09/10 ones. Love the Rapids home kit.
  3. We should wait and see what kind of kits adidas sends to the Championship teams first.
  4. http://ahfcchat.com/board/style_emoticons/default/wave.gif to both of them please.
  5. Had the same thought. He'll do us in two out of three weeks.
  6. All of my friends here support Liverpool, this is so sweet.
  7. Yes, he's got some mettle that we severely lack in the team now.
  8. The beauty of Wigan vs Newcastle is that the fans @ Wigan would give a player a chance that we never would. Once we get over ourselves we too can have players like Palacios come here and get a shot in the Prem to prove themselves without having a hundred threads on a messageboard about how much they suck.
  9. Yes, yes it is. Yeah. They're in fourth, I think their transfer market dealings really speaks for itself.
  10. Really hope Xisco gets the start tomorrow and does well, just to shut some people up on this forum. The abuse he's gotten on here is totally unjustified.
  11. British footballer's skin can't handle the sun. True story.

    Midfield

Wish we had Carrick. Man Utd's best center mid when it comes to passing/distribution by a country mile.

    Players in public

Always rated him. He gets the business done from time to time and seems like a canny guy to have around the training facilities.
  14. Bassong was here on trial. Who knows what could happen. Maybe he sees this as his opportunity to get back into the game.

    Kinnear Out

Good elitist logic. You're the kind of fan that Newcastle gets a bad rap for. Get over yourself and get behind the team.
  16. Three things about Tottenham that I reckon would attract players: 1) It's in London. 2) Out of the London teams, they're the most "on the up" as far as public image goes (regardless of actual results/reality). 3) Out of the "big" London teams it's the one that any mid-level player could look at and possibly play for regularly because they couldn't break into Arsenal/Chelsea/whatever.
  17. I wonder if he took a dive out of the car to save his life?
  18. An anonymous attacking midfielder who will cost £10m+. The deal is 80% done according to nufcblog mackems.gif I almost forgot about that joke of a site. I guess I should be nicer. I know the dude Ed means well (I try not to knock anyone doing anything good for NUFC) but his quality of journalism is just so lacking it's not even funny. He's posting rumors as truths and that shit can't fly. He just needs to up the professionalism of the site and weed his news stories a bit better, could be a quality site.
  19. Always enjoyed his presence, although not very charismatic, he's very level headed and you can tell he coaches by respect and knowledge, not by fire breathing or and sort of hair dryer treatments. Wouldn't mind him here at all.
  20. wow what a chance, I fear that was it.
  21. His style of play just looks lazy. It's not his job to run up and down the pitch. He has a very specific skill set and it's not suited to being a "box-to-box" striker like Rooney or someone similar who just runs their ass off all match. He's there to hold the ball up and create something - which to be honest, he does better than almost anyone else. Two instances stand out to me: 1) last season when he was on the RB's side of the 18 yard box and he flicked the ball up and volleyed it over his shoulder straight into Keane's path who then promptly put it away and 2) Earlier this season in the CL when he did that little flick right on the goal line over the defender's sweeping foot. Both absolutely brilliant. Would love to have his "lazy" ass here.
  22. That's such an old bullshit excuse to use when trying to compare Given and Harper. Not everyone is fame hungry. He gets to play soccer every day for a living for a team he loves (albeit not always on the SJP pitch), isn't that enough? Probably not for someone of your make-up. Given gets a get out of jail free card because of his "loyalty" but how easily we forget every time that he comes back from injury how quickly he is in the papers bitching about not being first choice - I've never heard Harper doing the same. Who has the real loyalty?
  23. They each have their positives/weaknesses - to me it's six one half dozen or another. Given isn't good at commanding the box/communication but Harper is. Harper isn't as good at pure shot stopping as Given is. It's really checks and balances. Harper doesn't get the recognition he deserves because he hasn't been in the spotlight like Given has his whole career. What's to say that if Harper hadn't left years ago that he'd be courted by "top four" sides now too?

    the bottom 3

Too early to tell but I'd reckon Stoke, WBA, and then battling it out between Blackburn and West Ham. Pompey or Bolton in with a long shot.
