  1. Certainly not ideal, no but not even sure how true these claims are.
  2. Having a mad sesh is probably not ideal for his recovery buts it’s not a mortal sin, man. In any case, what he gets up to in his personal life is none of our business (illegal activities aside); so long as he performs when he gets on the pitch.

    The Other 18

He handled that very well tbf. Are all sports journalists obnoxiously smug or is that unique to the ones in England?
  4. In his post match interview he said “fans think I can’t pass a ball 2 yards”… So you can see the stick he receives does get to him. Think he suffers from being too local, if that makes any sense. He seems to be hyper-aware of the fan zeitgeist and, whether the criticism is justified or not (and I happen to think it’s over the top) it’s not great for a player’s confidence. Lad needs to somehow find a way to separate himself from all of that and focus on delivering more performances like this one.
  5. Some people just like to moan. That was a very professional performance and as deserved a 3 points as you’re likely to see in the prem.
  6. My stream is showing the first half now ffs
  7. Keown doesn’t get enough hate imo. Absolute tosser that thinks he’s some sort of footballing intellectual.
  8. I like him but, pace aside, I don’t think he offers enough to displace Burn’s aerial ability. Burn is pretty decent on the ball and is also criminally underrated on here; the guy can go on a run of really good games but it only takes one mistake for him to be labeled shite.
  9. Good stuff. Really enjoyed that. Hopefully a kind draw now and we can really kick on.
  10. One of those where as soon as he lost the ball you knew what was coming
  11. Longstaff starts and we’re ace again, coincidence? No such thing.
  12. Nervous is being kind. From what my little brothers (who go to all the games) tell me, it’s very moan-y in most parts.
  13. Unless you want to count making the tallest flagpole in the world… and even that ended up about half the size it was supposed to be.
  14. They’ve been doing that anyway for the last 2 plus years. Their main focus has shifted to bringing more investment into the country. Regarding NUFC, if they make us the no. 1 football club globally it would be the first time in PIF’s history that they’ve actually fulfilled their promise of making something the best in the world.
  15. A model that has never once shown it can upset the apple-cart. Pretty much every club under the top 6 does this to varying degrees of “success”. We were buying proven young PL stars mixed in with proven young internationals. Is it hubris sticking to the same policy that allowed us to break through in the first place? It’s baby out with the bathwater stuff. The model you’re referring to is exactly what we did with Minteh yet every step over he does leads to scathing criticisms of our transfer policy.
  16. “Let’s buy undervalued players from the continent” what a novel idea that no one’s ever thought of! What a pioneer that Mitchell is. It’s the same kind of model that clubs who don’t win things employ; and the same one that Ashley put in place a decade ago. I honestly never thought fans would back Mitchell over Howe after that interview and failed window but here we are.
  17. People better be trolling with the “Howe won’t last til Christmas” posts.
  18. Yer ma used to say it a lot too. (safety smiley: )
  19. Longstaff is better off the ball and, throughout the course of a season, would likely outscore Tonali. Tonali just feels like the better player; certainly his physicality, vision and technique are levels above what Sean brings to the table.
  20. Chelsea are doing everything they can to circumvent psr. As outsiders we should champion them making fools of these rules instead of hoping they get reprimanded.
