I'm sure many peoples opinions on that matter were very different when the Keegan saga was ongoing. That's all I'm getting at. People seem to forget where they stood 3 months ago...

I know i'm stubborn, but at least I take peoples opinions on board.... bloody hell man....

I've never condoned or said I would be happy for sections to be closed I merely made a suggestion that if people wanted Ashley out that bad like people originally claimed then a lack of ticket sales would hit him where it hurts. When you think there is only half the police needed to cover the away fans now because of their location next to the glass I bet they are saving from that anyways, so I doubt the cost is that great for a few thousand people. Also, whether it is the worst view in the ground is debateable, I would say its worse being front row than being back row to a certain degree. Can I ask you (not being funny) where do you actually sit, how often and have you ever sat in the singing section? It' just out of curiosity. I wouldn;t moan about ticket prices going to the same as what I paid last year in the Middle Tier of the Leazes behind he goal. I moved to the singing section for the atmosphere not for a view or for the price...but I won't lie...the price was an extra point which lured me away. Also about boro too, didn't we get a 3,000 allocation back this year again? People at the club, especially at clubs like boro where nee fucker turns up, are more bothered about them earning than a few thousand people standing imo. They know how far they can push.

We do though. Because if you don't they'll take your ticket off you. It depends how many are standing really... You're confusing "mob rule" with democracy then. In a way a democracy relies on a mob rule in order to sustain any form of hierarchy. It's alway the majority who win in a democracy....i.e. when we vote for labour or conservative...very different but very similar...if you get me..

Okay i'll admit some of my earlier comments were a bit rash and I fell into the traps people set out...but you are all still failing to see my point.... I understand what you are all getting at, but all I am saying is why shouldn't people protest....we don't HAVE to sit back and just do what we are always told, that's why we live in a democracy. So by standing up against the rules people see that as their way of protesting against the current rules so that tey are changed to suit everyone...
-
People understand the consequences, being lamped isn't one of them though, and i'm sure that's what the uproar is mainly about, (i'm not saying you condone it here either). The thing is, if you tell people in writing to stand up for a game in protest, you could have hundreds of thousands do it on one day up and down the country....but then you run the risk of being arrested for inciting violence/public disorder or something. After doing a united we stand protest we kind of got a bit of a telling off the police, yet if thousands of blacks or a certain other group of people protest they seem to have no repercussions (sp?). I think considering we live in a democracy we shuld all have the right to peacefully protest, which is what we did on the afore mentioned march, yet we sill got told we could be arrested and we were dealt with rather heavy handedly on the day. So despite people understanding the consequences they feel they should have a right to the choice, what other way can you think of which would be affective? As I am sure you wouldn't mind people having the choice to stand if there was an allocated area for like minded fans...

No I have not & the only person online I know is Nixon. Yes the ground getting closed will make Keith Harris find a buyer more easily. Anyone with sense would only buy food or drink in the ground if they really have to, as it is over priced s****. Lets not mix working class up with scummy charva's ay. The bloke got took away by the Police man. Yous were singing "HATE COCKNEYS" at them a few times were was the love then. Yeah well sit down or it may go. People who stand are going to make the work of the Ultra's/Bring Back The Noise end, DO YOU UNDERSTAND? You don't offended me at all, however Liam O has sent me a PM & he is really upset by all this Charvas are part of the working class, or some of them are at least. As for the end I was just trying to display it wasn't a hatred for yous it was a hatred of the opinions you were giving, but you're entitled to them I guess, no matter hwo shite thy are. People who stand are not preventing the BBTN lads from achieving their goal, they are helping because when youlook around hardly anyone who is sitting ever appears to be singing, I'm sure you stand the majority of time you're singing too, even if it is only for 2 or 3 minutes a game. People sing for a good 60minutes in the singing section so they will stand for 60 minutes most likely. If the singing section goes the same people will still sit or stand together, just like they did last season and the one before that. As for the anti-cockney stuff, it's known as banter, when it actually mattered we were all football fans. Anti-opposition chants are part of football, and part of what makes a football match a more unique experience compared to other sporting events. Going back to the whole grudge thing, It was a bit daft of me to say because I was making more of an assumption, however the same names pop up all the time when the BBTN lads are criticised, and its a bit pathetic, thanfully it's the minority these days though, because the majority on here are sound and actually seem to support our aims and goals. Everyone knows the rules and regulations of standing, but pople should have the choice to do either, and that is why people stand up in protest. If you were passionate about something else in your life you would make some sort of protest too, fathers for justice and aal that sorta thing. If people are passionate they will protest against things they find unfair...

Possibly the worst debate attempt I've seen anyone put forward on here. Absolutely pathetic effort. Not really, if you wanted to affect Ashleys bank account then ticket sales was the first solution raised at the top of all this shite with Ashley. Which I didn't agree with, yet plenty people said boycott the games then....
-
No, I'm saying you're trying to suggest that people think that is the case when clearly no one does, then saying other peoples' arguments are stupid & hilarious. Oh yes, its so 'hilarious', so do you think people would come on here, read through the thread, and genuinly be laughing, because its so so 'hilarous' & 'comedy gold'? Tbf I began with that and it was a daft comment to make. It was ment in a more sarcastic manner though. I just find it ridiculous how narrow minded people are about our support...our own fans...fans who don't aim to cause trouble, just stand up for what they believe in, quite literally....
-
So you condone a steward hitting a fan?
-
There's a surprise, more ignorance...
-
LMFAO The stupidity of some of your arguments are hilarious. Fair enough I'm not going to change any points of view with this ran, because you're probably stubborn old fuckers who have forgot what it was like when you used to go as a young'n but aye, anyways.... The people backing up the stewards on this one are all either employed or have been previously employed by the club as stewards, also they have somehting against the bring back the noise lads. It is NOT law to remain seated in football stadia, however the club can suffer fines and risk getting the ground closed due to losing its safety certificate. Which I must admit I don't wish to happen. However, how many of you whinged about Ashley and wanted him out? If he gets fined, if the ground gets closed and he doesn't get ticket sales, maybe he'll have to fuck off slightly sharper? Double standards if you ask me when half of you probably complained about people buying a fucking pie at half time because you wanted him out. When our away fans stand everywhere else in the country, there is never a problem, similar with other fans I have seen travel away. I used to go into the unofficial singing section last year, where the Toon Ultras sat/stood and there was never any bother, unfortunately some more charvas decided to tag onto this. However, should only middle-class people be able to attend? Should they fuck. Check the history of the game, and you will find it is/was a working class sport for working class people, so why the fuck should less fortunate people not be allowed to support the team they love? These so called scummy people have been going for years, even since you were a kid, when there was even more violence and hooliganism. Since when was attacking someone for not sitting down acceptable? When is anything ever going to change until people rebel, and protest. The singing of "Stand up if you love football" was a stroke of genius from who ever began singing it on the spot, it was veyr basic, caught on quick and it united both sets of fans in their love of the game. It worked, really quickly too. For anyone who has sat in the singing section this year, they can clarify the effect it has made, it's getting stronger and stronger and louder and louder. People who have never sat there seem to have a fear of accepting how good it is/can be. The largest problem about this standing issue is the government and laws about standing at football games. How come you can stand for Rod Stewart in the North West Corner of St James' but not for Newcastle United? At the end of the day I am sure a good 75% of those standing in the singing section would happily admit people have every right to sit and watch if they choose, they just believe they should have the right to stand if they like too. Considering the likes of thespence and Liam Oh were PROBABLY the ones criticising the Toon Ultras for their narrow mindedness and slagging off other fans, I think you need to take a good look at yourselves first. As it would appear the "bring back the noise" lads are the ones creating a unity with not only their on fans but other ses of fans too not causing a divide like you PROBABLY originally, and still do claim. Apologies if I have offended either of the members mentioned, I just think your hatred for these lads who want to make a difference is extremely annoying, ignorant and damn right pathetic. Apart from that have a Merry Christmas and a happy new year.

....but did anyone see what happened in the Singing Section against Spuds? I heard some bloke got nutted by one of the bouncers who were brought in to help steward the game. If so that's absolutely disgraceful. It's rediculous to think how victimised you get as a football fan, compared to any other "type" of person. I for one thought it was really impressive when both sets of fans sung "stand up if you love football" which was started in the Singing Section. It showed a bit of unity and that people are willing to put differences aside to fight for something they believe in. Don't get me wrong, people should be allowed to sit at the game if they desire, but you should be able to stand if you want too. ....but aye, anyon know exactly what happened with that bloke? Shows how pathetic it is when they're hiring bouncers to get people to sit down!
-
Agreed, this has been mentioned many'a'time when the stewards have tried to get me and/or others to sit down.

From the stream it sounded like the away end was in fine voice throughout. Yeah the support from only 1500 was very good throughout. Towrads the end there was a raucous "s*** GROUND! s*** FANS!" followed by "40,000 Muppets" to which the home fans just gawped and offered no reply. Comical as well, how long it took the home fans to realised Joe Cole's goal had been disallowed. A good ten seconds of celebrating before the meek sit down. Your text had me in stitches, but in a rather confused fashion. I wasn't expecting it at all..."that's pride for you motherfuckers" Great stuff! No doubt we will hear all about it against Stoke... Haha. I blame the pre match pints. I though we were going to win the league! There's plenty time yet...

Standing makes for a much better atmosphere. I'd rather be with 1,000 standing fans than 3,000 that are sat down. I think it comes hand in hand tbh. Standing and singing is just what people do, and tbh I think it helps the acoustics.... You can be louder standing up, suck all that air in through your nose and bellow out a good chant. Nearly anywhere you look where there is a good atmosphere people are standing. Some examples of this are: The Kop end on a champions league night Marseille behind each goal The Bundesligas "Safe Standing" Lower League clubs like York...Jorvik Reds all stand and have banners, etc I'm sure I could go on and on...
-
Aye it is still liekly to go ahead I am just awaiting another reply from Simon at Newcastle. It is possible that the banner may only be allowed on the back wall until the end of this season. I have e-mailed back though asking for an allocated spot for over the balcony next year onwards. If they agree to that then we'll push to get it sorted a.s.a.p. possibly on the weekend we play Portsmouth away..... I will keep y'all updated though, I'll post the e-mails into here in the next 5mins....

Well it's about time....
-
That would be a good idea...either that or your lot could wear Sunderland tops....
-
On second thoughts I might play. I've bagged two goals in two games on that hallowed omniturf. And lost twice too. Nice one. Get Mark to play too...
-
Depending on how much it is to pay for the pitch we would ask people to bring an additional amount to play.... Could say like £3 a head and whatever it costs for each individual to play too...
-
We're just trying to get that design altered slightly now, so that it is longer and thinner, so it fits onto the balcony better. We are also awaiting a response from the club regarding this...
-
We are awaiting a reply regarding that, but i'm sure it will be up all the time even if it is on the back wall....
