Its a very smart (and obvious) strategy. Spend the money on quality and enlargen the squad with freebies. Going for Larsson, Wendt, Elmander etc is a no brainer.

Ferguson said some nice things about us in that Sky interview, but because he remembers us we're DEFINITELY getting slaughtered (if it was in any doubt). I was optimistic but after yesterday's defeat theres no chance of them messing up again, especially when Magic League #19 is in sight. 0-3, Rooney hat-trick (because thats how he rolls).

Its not getting any easier for Blackburn. They could easily sneak in there......
-
Maybe he's off to the casino.
-
Robben, Malouda, Kalou and Ballack are/were good too though.

If Messi wasn't around, we'd probably be saying all this about CRonaldo, whose goal scoring record is also extraordinary. Poor Crissy. Seems like the world can't handle two of them at once.....

He's definitely waiting for Man Utd but Fergie just keeps going and I still see him there in 3 or 4 years time. Arsenal/Wenger is the same story and I just don't see him at Man City because that'd be too easy for him. If he wins stuff at Real and can't get Man Utd, maybe he wants a different kind of challenge. The return at Chelsea is what I'd bet on, but I don't think Spurs are as unlikely as it sounds.

Need. Want. NOW!!!!

Oleguer, Gerard and Gabri......what a fantastic team they were
-
I reckon this Barca team is in its third season. As soon as Ronaldinho, Zambrotta, Deco and Oleguer left a new iteration began. Best team I've ever seen. International teams are hard to compare due to the lack of games and I'm too young to compare them with past club sides. But they'll be very hard to topple.

Got a horrible feeling Spurs will get him to replace Redknapp next summer. Tell me I'm wrong, please.
-
So which of the four will Barca/Madrid 'take it easy' in? I'd say the cup game, but the league match is looking less pivotal now.
-
bet you thought that was onside too?

What the fuck is this camera angle? ITV - maintaining their proud tradition of shit broadcasting.

Its giving them license to be twats. By choosing to have an affair, you should accept the consequences instead of hiding behind some sissy injunction. If you don't want catching out, don't do it in the first place.

Need a report from VI. I'm concerned that he's 24 and very few people know him. I know theres some late bloomers in football, but when unknowns show up at that age they're normally 'one season wonders' and it doesn't even sound like he's had that!

Football was only invented in 1992, so who is this Pele and what is a Cruyff? Isn't Maradona that crazy coke-head?

OliverKayTimes Oliver Kay One other thing before I go to bed. Told no #LFC deal with #NUFC for Jose Enrique yet. Other clubs interested. Night

The Champions League has now eclipsed the World Cup in importance, so I don't see winning the WC as the barometer. We live in a world where people will always want to be contrare, so its difficult for him - especially as we look to the past with rose-tinted glasses. The regularity that Barca are on TV means we see mistakes (as rare as they are) that just wouldn't happen with a Pele or Di Stefano. I think he's in that upper echelon already, along with Pele, Maradona and Di Stefano (never understood the Zidane hype). To get it in the bag he just needs to keep this up for 2-3 more years and not fade away Ronaldo-style. Messi

He (like Neymar) is basically biding his time until eventually going to Europe. Just think they may as well stay at Santos and continue their education for a couple more years. How do the Santos fans feel about this?
-
Seriously, what is the point? Its the biggest sideways step in history. Football is weird....
-
Carroll is a twat. Even if you totally avoid him like me (not watching matches, ignoring his existence, not buying FFT for the first time in 10 years) it still hurts, dammit.

Enrique is better. He is, but Taiwo is much better value for money. Without Europe next season, the money saved there would really help to strengthen other areas. Hopefully this is how they're thinking too because I'd be gutted to lose Jose. Can you please, please explain to my why Taiwo would let his contract expire at the reigning French champions, who are second in the league, probably playing Champions League football next season to join a mid-table club? Erm....I was referring to Liverpool in that post. Oh, sorry. Can only guess Liverpool rate him more. £15 million is not a lot of money anymore, especially for a 25 year-old that is proven in the league ... And they spent more on Glen Johnson, although that could work either way. They might regret doing that!
