Id had have him back. Footballing ability wise he'd fit right in. To be fair to him, he left for footballing reasons and footballing reasons alone. He felt that the club lacked ambition and had clearly got frustrated at the lack of investment by the board and didn't feel the club were doing enough to move in the right direction. His thoughts at the time we're shared by a number of our fans and at the end of the day he's a professional footballer who wants to play at the highest level, a level he couldn't see himself achieving here and for that reason I can empathize with his decision to move. Although his comments were a tad disrespectful and did make him look like a massive tit last season, I think he was more trying to justify his reasoning behind wanting a move rather than just 'slagging off the club'. I dont think he'll ever come back though, for starters I dont think he'd want to, he left to move onto better things and potentially achieve more, I dont think he'd want to take a step back. I cant imagine Alan Pardew and him being on the greatest terms and I certainly cant see the board sanctioning a move for a player thats came out and had a pop at them.

To someone who doesn't know the giggs craic the amount of Ryan Giggs images being posted on an NUFC forum must seem utterly bizzare like

How very undwhelming. Dont think I've started a summer with so much optimism for it to slowly fade away by the end of August. The fact of the matter is we haven't brought enough players in order to mount a successful league campaign and a European challenge. We can all see what we need. It's criminal going into this so short at the back and up top. It's a huge risk. I'm not over reacting, nor am i acting like a spoiled child, I'm just disappointed my club hasn't showed the level of ambition to push on to better things despite the best opportunity in a decade to really make a mark of the Premier League. If come tomorrow night we haven't signed anyone then the factor that'll be most irritating is the fact the core of our team is really something special. We've got the likes of Coloccini, one of the finest defenders I've seen at NUFC, we've got a thoroughly classy midfield and two strikers that we're s*** hot last season. We're not talking about a lack of ambition preventing us moving away from mid table mediocrity or a flirt with relegation, we're talking about a lack of ambition that'll see us turn from a good side, into a pretty fantastic team, that's the heartbreak of it all. Another factor thats peeved folk is the fact that we've been here before. The similarities between summer 03/04 when a lack of investment saw us fail to qualify for the champions league and this summer are all to clear to see. That SBR side was a damn good side, just like our team last season and we fell away from the pack because we didnt push on, you could argue that we never really recovered from from that summer. People arent asking for us to blow millions on superstars; most people just want to see a little drive and ambition from the board. People want to see the bar raised, not just aiming to achieve what we did last season. If we aimed higher and fell short of last seasons finish then so be it, but at least we had a pop. I really dont see how expecting the board to spend that extra million or two on a player, or bring in players in areas that we desperately need rather than just hoping Pardew can achieve what he did last season with a thread bare squad is too much to ask.

Never going to happen like.

Fuck that.

No chance. Perch isnt a full back as far as I can see. No good going forward and not suited defensively. Never seen him impress there. Think he fits in so much better in a central midfield role, his positioning is good in the middle and he's tough in the tackle and thats where he impressed last season. Glad to have him as a squad player and cover in the middle but not at full back.

I'm from Coventry and couldn't agree more with you. There is one or two hidden gems but a good night out happens once in a blue moon. Were the halls in the Hillfields by any chance? Its by far the worst area in Coventry and would advise anybody not to go anywhere near it. Couldnt tell you fella, we just rocked up in what was apparently Coventry university halls and went out. Taxi ride to the city centre if that means owt like.
-
Coventry is fucking awful like. Been their for a night out and it was dreadful, the town centre's awful. The halls of residence I stopped at was in a grim area too, remember being sneered at and then followed by three dodgy fella's outside a Kurdistan coffee shop. The specials were being kind about the place.

Boselli looks sharp for wigan. I'd like him to come good in the prem like, or maybe he's just found his level.
-
Wim Jonk in an ambassadorial role.
-
No doubt a talented player but is he really what we need right now?
-
Whats gone on with Bojan? Just another player with too much unfulfilled hype?

25M for Nani!? Ferguson should snatch their hand off. Both him and Anderson are equally unimpressive. Nani less so but he's far too inconsistent. Anderson; I dont think Ive actually ever seen him do anything.

Who've we had previously? Ruiz? Kieran Richardson? Michael Johnson.

Toon's Taylor is odds on favourite. Hey fuk you AND your s*** hard drive/graphics card.

Not sure how people can say our squad has improved enough. Our actions in the transfer window so far dont consistute to improving with regards to a European campaign. We'll be playing twice a week and we simply wont be able to handle it with our squad whilst maintaining the form of last year, it simply will not happen, especially with another African c***ing nations in january; where Senegal aren't gurantee'd to go out early again. Our back 4 is the same back 4 we had last season and we still ended up James Perch, who is in no way, shape or form a good enough centre half playing. We even had Danny Simpson in their at one point, now if that doesnt scream 'thin at the back' then nowt will and thats before you factor in European games man. The one area of the team that blatantly needed improving prior to the end of last season was Right full back. We've had an opportunity to sign a top class full back and thus far havent. It doesnt even seem like we've looked at anyone else. If you want to push on and improve the side you need to be improving on the weak links. We havent. Bigi and Amalfitano will give us a bit of depth in the midfield which we needed and along with Anita im more than happy with the midfield. However up top it's a different story again. We're short up top, we've got 3 strikers; 2 of which disappear for a month in August and the other, lets face it, isnt good enough to be starting on a regular basis,. especially if we want to push on. I think people are underestimating how much this European campaign will take it out of the side, look at all the teams around us, they've all got more first team players. The fact is, we've been gifted a superb opportunity for this club to push on and really improve, a chance to have another crack at the top four with a bit of ambition and as it stands, it looks like we dont have the ambition. Has this transfer window made us look like a club that really wants to improve? I think not. I dont think it's being a drama queen nor do I think people are over reacting, I think as fans of this club we're entitled to feel a little frustrated with our business this window so far and you have to question the ambition of those at the top.

Odd. Savic only had one season at Partizan before being thrown into the City first time, he's understandably looked a bit shakey. Given they paid 6m for him they obviously thought he he might have had a bit of talent, weird to get rid on a permanent basis so quickly. Mind this is City, where 6M is pocket change.

The more rigid 442 is suited to Chelsea away then 433 which could leave us exposed. Happy with that side though. Think Chelsea will steal it, but hopefully we put in a decent performance. -

half hoping this gets called off as i'm going to miss it! -
Rarely I post what the mongs on RTG have to say but think if anything proves our dominance over them it's this post; Talk about scraping the barrel

It doesn't make sense like. A least not right now. I dont even like having to talk about eventually replacing Colo man, it like talking about the fact you'll probably have to one day arrange and attend your parents funerals.

Was looking at Heskeys scoring record the other day; 151 goals in 696 games, 7 goals in 62 apps for England.

The most frustrating thing about this whole saga is that Debuchy is absolutely perfect for us. Good right backs aren't easy to find and I couldnt think of a better option than this lad. Especially given he openly wants to come here and it's a position we desperately need an improvement in.

Mental if we sell Colo for 15M.
