Hoping to get to Club Brugge away like.

Won a bit tonight on a Partizan, Sporting, NUFC treble.

Regardless he was eager to join earlier in the window. That's why you dont leave these things until the last day in the window when its been obvious for a good while we've needed a right back. Thats assuming we've even considered re bidding for him in the last few days.

It does look long. You're hardly an expert given you looked like a human frankfurter in yours according the picture you posted on here!

What a minging day. Gonna attempt to avoid football news until 11PM. Fuck Jim White and fuck his transfer clock watch.

West Ham agree fee in region of £15m with Liverpool for Andy Carroll
Doctor Zaius replied to Pilko's topic in Football
Im not 'meh' at all. Infact i'm quite disappointed. Carroll moving here on loan with a view to permanent was a perfect situation for me. We're dreadfully short up front; having lost Best and Lovenkrands. We've got 3 Premier league strikers one of which is Shola; who despite how much I love the bloke for his derby day antics and cult hero image, isnt good enough to be starting for us on a regular basis. Cisse and Ba, although they didn't seem to form any sign of a partnership at the end of last season are more than than capable but potentially disappear for a period come the end of January. He'd be an extra body and give us an extra option up top, he's obviously got talent and openly wanted to come here. A loan move move would have gave us the flexibility of not having to tie him down to a contract, and the possibility to sign him permanently up if he rediscovers his from his time here and to a degree the end of last season. Do were we in for him and Liverpool refused to deal with us or did we just not bother at all? -
Whilst I agree with aspects of this I don't see why the board have to be so rigid with regards to their policy. Surely their comes a point when their stubbornness in treating the policy as the be all and end all becomes a hinderence in the club moving forward? For me as the club moves on and adapts so should the transfer policy. Again I'm not saying an entire change of ethos, just a little bit of leeway that we've earned.

9 in 45 in the Championship last term. No way a premier league footballer. I like watching him though, he's the type of player that reminds you having the talent to be a footballer isnt inate; if you really really tried as a kid, gave it your all and ran as much as he did, then you might, just might have grew up to be as good as Craig Mackail-Smith.

Strange one if true. A winger? We've already got Amalfitano in; who at 23 isnt exactly a youngster and it's not an area we need bodies.

Yeah, these lives aren't gonna save themselves.

This thread is horrible. So many teams making moves for players while theirs seemingly 0 news at our end.

Missing football because of work. Tonights going to be 3/4 games I've missed this season because of work. Irritating.

Id had have him back. Footballing ability wise he'd fit right in. To be fair to him, he left for footballing reasons and footballing reasons alone. He felt that the club lacked ambition and had clearly got frustrated at the lack of investment by the board and didn't feel the club were doing enough to move in the right direction. His thoughts at the time we're shared by a number of our fans and at the end of the day he's a professional footballer who wants to play at the highest level, a level he couldn't see himself achieving here and for that reason I can empathize with his decision to move. Although his comments were a tad disrespectful and did make him look like a massive tit last season, I think he was more trying to justify his reasoning behind wanting a move rather than just 'slagging off the club'. I dont think he'll ever come back though, for starters I dont think he'd want to, he left to move onto better things and potentially achieve more, I dont think he'd want to take a step back. I cant imagine Alan Pardew and him being on the greatest terms and I certainly cant see the board sanctioning a move for a player thats came out and had a pop at them.

To someone who doesn't know the giggs craic the amount of Ryan Giggs images being posted on an NUFC forum must seem utterly bizzare like

How very undwhelming. Dont think I've started a summer with so much optimism for it to slowly fade away by the end of August. The fact of the matter is we haven't brought enough players in order to mount a successful league campaign and a European challenge. We can all see what we need. It's criminal going into this so short at the back and up top. It's a huge risk. I'm not over reacting, nor am i acting like a spoiled child, I'm just disappointed my club hasn't showed the level of ambition to push on to better things despite the best opportunity in a decade to really make a mark of the Premier League. If come tomorrow night we haven't signed anyone then the factor that'll be most irritating is the fact the core of our team is really something special. We've got the likes of Coloccini, one of the finest defenders I've seen at NUFC, we've got a thoroughly classy midfield and two strikers that we're s*** hot last season. We're not talking about a lack of ambition preventing us moving away from mid table mediocrity or a flirt with relegation, we're talking about a lack of ambition that'll see us turn from a good side, into a pretty fantastic team, that's the heartbreak of it all. Another factor thats peeved folk is the fact that we've been here before. The similarities between summer 03/04 when a lack of investment saw us fail to qualify for the champions league and this summer are all to clear to see. That SBR side was a damn good side, just like our team last season and we fell away from the pack because we didnt push on, you could argue that we never really recovered from from that summer. People arent asking for us to blow millions on superstars; most people just want to see a little drive and ambition from the board. People want to see the bar raised, not just aiming to achieve what we did last season. If we aimed higher and fell short of last seasons finish then so be it, but at least we had a pop. I really dont see how expecting the board to spend that extra million or two on a player, or bring in players in areas that we desperately need rather than just hoping Pardew can achieve what he did last season with a thread bare squad is too much to ask.

Never going to happen like.

Fuck that.

No chance. Perch isnt a full back as far as I can see. No good going forward and not suited defensively. Never seen him impress there. Think he fits in so much better in a central midfield role, his positioning is good in the middle and he's tough in the tackle and thats where he impressed last season. Glad to have him as a squad player and cover in the middle but not at full back.

I'm from Coventry and couldn't agree more with you. There is one or two hidden gems but a good night out happens once in a blue moon. Were the halls in the Hillfields by any chance? Its by far the worst area in Coventry and would advise anybody not to go anywhere near it. Couldnt tell you fella, we just rocked up in what was apparently Coventry university halls and went out. Taxi ride to the city centre if that means owt like.
-
Coventry is fucking awful like. Been their for a night out and it was dreadful, the town centre's awful. The halls of residence I stopped at was in a grim area too, remember being sneered at and then followed by three dodgy fella's outside a Kurdistan coffee shop. The specials were being kind about the place.

Boselli looks sharp for wigan. I'd like him to come good in the prem like, or maybe he's just found his level.
-
Wim Jonk in an ambassadorial role.
-
No doubt a talented player but is he really what we need right now?
-
Whats gone on with Bojan? Just another player with too much unfulfilled hype?
