I don't think we'll get anyone through the door. We've left it far too late. This is a mess years in the making. We could have had Ekitike at 14m two seasons ago. We could have had Strand Larsen last season. Wilson has been on the decline for years. Now we've been forced to try and sign PL proven strikers and we can't do that, even at inflated prices because teams aren't looking to sell.

Its miles off. If it was anywhere near coherent enough, we'd have had him last season when he went to Wolves on loan with an option to buy. Instead were trying to pay silly money based off one PL season.

I dont think thats clear at all. If they were that convinced, we'd have made a move before the end of August. Is one good PL season enough to call someone a proven at PL level? Plenty of players have had a decent return in a single season that are nowhere near good enough for a club in the CL. Glen Murray, Mitrovic, Jay Rodriguez, Graziano Pelle, Ighalo, Deeney have all scored around 14 goals in a single season over the last 8 or 9 years. You'd have been mental to drop a significant sum on any of those.

The most pathetic thing of all is that they'll be able to carry on spending what they want until they eventually find something that clicks.
