Notice Toney didn't play again today. Get in Thomas Frank. Clearly doesn't want to be there, continually disrespects the club. Would be hilarious if his mouth essentially cost him a place at the Euros.

Think he'll go Krafth and Dummett at full back, maybe Murphy on the bench for some legs in the second half. A point will be a miracle. -

Sweepstake on the time of the first injury? Im going for getting through to halftime unscathed and then a player breaks down in the 53rd minute and is out for a number of weeks. -
They're going to be absolutely fuming

We actually picked up some form under him during that relegation season. Wonder if he hadnt taken ill, whether we'd have scraped survival. Man, what a season that was. First relegation since the 80s, appointing someone who hadnt been in the top flight since 1999, Shearer as manager, signings that never played like Xisco and Gonzalez, Keegan resigning, protests, Dennis Wise, Barton in prison for half the season, N'zogbia going on strike because he was called Insomnia, and a final day defeat through an own goal. Wild, wild times. RIP.
-
Unless they offer him 2 years (which would be mental) I don't think he'd go. Mind, he's probably more shiftable than some of the dross in our side. Hayden here til 2026 ffs.
-
No chance he's going anywhere like. He'll be on a good wage here and there's no chance any team matches it for a 32 year old striker who misses more games than he's fit for. Even less of a chance anyone pays a fee for him. So you may as well keep him for the final year of his contract.

Sounds like he hasn't trained this week. Another game another injury.

The crowd around me in the lower Leazes, right below the the away fans on Tuesday was old as fuck like. I dont know if im noticing it more, or if its not actually the same in other PL games. Seen more atmosphere in a doctors waiting room too. Felt like people didnt even celebrate the goal that much. Easily the worst area of the ground ive sat in. Of course, older people have as much right to go as anyone, at as has been said, theyve been there through thick and thin.

Was early for meeting my friend at the boozer yesterday so I had a wander around Leazes Terrace. It really is a beautiful building like. So much bigger than I realised too, moving it brick by brick to Beamish would be hard work.

The Europeometer™ (2024/25) - NUFC Qualify for Conference League (at least)
Doctor Zaius replied to Rich's topic in Football
There's slim chance of us finishing 6th tbh. You'd need a fairly big turnaround in form and we have even less players than before. We've got players starting for us that wouldnt get into most PL first XI's. 7th is on the cards but I dont have much confidence in us beating anyone at the minute. We simply aren't the same team in personnel or style. Cant defend and we dont press like we used to, probably because of the injuries. Hope we make a go of it and finish 7th but I still think its a tough ask. -
Newcastle United 1-1 Everton (02/04/24) | Reaction: pg 40

Should have finished them off. A late goal was always, always coming. Too many players who just aren't really good enough. I've well and truly had enough of Longstaff. The drop off from Trippier to Krafth is something else. Murphy another who's average - so wasteful. I can see why Hall hasn't played either - looks physically a bit off it, though understandably, he'll not get an easier shift than against a geriatric Ashley Young though. Penalty was poor but you can be Dubravka isn't getting to it. 6 or 7 of our injured players would have started tonight. Bruno carries us too. Must be having thoughts about fucking off watching some plank mascot come off the bench and chuck the game away. Thought Dan Burn was excellent. Pickford kept them in it and was easily their best player. -
Genuinely looked like a Sunday league player.

Newcastle United vs. Everton: 2/4/24 @ 19:30 (TNT Sports)
Doctor Zaius replied to HaydnNUFC's topic in Football
Mental injury list that. A win would be great here. Given West Ham have Spurs and Man Utd with Chelsea, we could be in touching distance of 6th. Fairly remarkable given everything thats gone on this season. -
He's so inconsistent these days and basically unreliable. Consistency is the key to good keepers and he's lost it. He's capable of great saves still - he was immense against Wolves but far too often he's making mistakes and letting in goals that he should be stopping. Should have done better for the Kudus goal imo and almost fucked it at the end by flapping at a cross. Age and lack for playing time has caught up with him I'm afraid.

I'd go this team too. Think it will be this team except Longstaff for Anderson.
