Howe has nothing to turn around. He continues to do an excellent job.

There's a difference between a bit of tension behind the scenes or a clash of egos and *checks notes* CIVIL WAR.

Didn't really see the drama with that. Hope and Bird asked some very leading questions and he does seem less than impressed with some of Mitchell's comments. But overall he said, he's happy, no one seems to be treading on his toes and ot sounds like he'll have minimal contact with Mitchell, which will help if they don't get on. Largely positive for me.

It seems there has been disagreement behind the scenes. It's probably a bit of ego and a bit of seeking compromise, but it's hard to tell with the sensationalist spin on everything to do with it. As others have said, we'll find out in January.

Between this and the Chelsea Hotel sales, I'm surprised a few clubs haven't kicked off.

Subtle. I don't think we should immediately dismiss a journo because he's reporting potentially bad news, but the framing of it is there to see. He's been at it since Mitchell arrived.

Weird Waugh, Edwards and Douglas aren't reporting on this alleged civil war. Reads like Hope creating a mountain out of a mole hill.

They're more of a let their interest be known and let the player run down his contract sort of model.

You'd think we were the only club who had a SD and a manager who didn't agree on absolutely everything. I guess "Mitchell and Howe have a reasonable debate on transfer targets" doesn't get people paying for paywall protected content.

Hope still sticking the boot in I see.

Nothing particularly new, but some interesting bits all the same.

What's this Barclaysman nonsense doing the rounds?

Looking sharper by the game. Can only be a good thing for us.

I think he's got a point. It's still an authority criticising a body which is one of the mechanisms that is intended to prevent it from exceeding or misplacing it's powers.

Aye, absolutely no excuse for him not to be starting on Sunday.
