Pretty much, from off the pitch with delayed flights, fireworks at 3am outside the hotel, the bus taking the long way from the hotel and flying fucking fighter jets over the hotel at random hours, as well as on it when they spent the whole game diving, pushing and pulling - along with the customary laser pointer to the goalies face. I mean you're 10th in the World - we're in the 130's and don't really give a shit, seems like a very petty thing to do.
-
Peru looking like they're going to put 6 past us. We haven't held the ball for more than 15 seconds once in the first 13 minutes.
-
Pretty shite game, we'll lose 2-0 in Peru, our only chance really was to go there with a lead. But on the flipside, big credit must go to Hudson for restoring some pride in the All Whites, in the last World Cup cycle we missed out on the Oceania Cup title to Tahiti and lost the playoff for the World Cup to Mexico 9-3. We've now got some decent young talent (by our standards - all the top athletes play Rugby or win Olympic Golds in Sailing and Rowing), we win the games we are supposed to and in the games we are expected to get slapped around we go down fighting.

The best PFM moaning I've heard about this was somebody, can't remember who, last season complaining that the clubs at the top of the Championship were mainly foreign managed and why weren't English managers being given these roles, as if David Wagner getting the Huddersfield gig had been an example of Johnny Foreigner getting a big job ahead of Joe Bloggs, rather than them coming in and dragging a small club into the top flight on merit. Wagner had also served his time as an apprentice, assisting Klopp and managing the reserve team for Dortmund. For the ex-players especially who are moaning about not getting the Chelsea job because they played in the Premier League 10 years ago, how many of them would be happy to take that route? I'll give Giggs some credit for being Van Gaels number 2, but he seems to think because he did that for two years he should now go to the very top pile right away.

Newcastle United lose Judicial Review against HMRC

And do what? He's a fraud with no real professional experience, no professional football club would let him run the bloody ticket office, let alone be Managing Director and he isn't going to get any real job for a proper private business. -
Not worthy of a thread - 2018 FIFA World Cup edition

I would actually love to see a straight 128 team knockout tournament as a one off, just for the carnage. -

Terry Venables Part 2 - with the difference being that at least Venables was a decent manager at one point.
-
Exactly, I hope every year is like last year for them, misery with the King getting just enough job security from the traditional November win streak and jammy cup runs that end in spectacular failures with the world watching that he doesn't get sacked.
-
He's not universally liked mind. Any reason why?
-
TBF he also promoted them, got them their highest finish in decades and won the League Cup. Not saying he's Mourinho or anything, but alright achievement for a club like Birmingham.

Arsenal going full Wenger right on schedule. Box seat to 4th in the space of weeks, must be February.

but then again Porto was the biggest (or at least one of the biggest clubs in Portugal) portuguese club at that time. I am talking about a mid-/ or lower table club without a lot of money to spend. I mean his Porto team was: P. Ferreira, Costinha, Deco, Conceicao, McCarthy, Derlei, Maniche, Bosingwa just to name a few. And how many of those players were either nobodies, bench warmers or signed from mid table Pourtegese clubs for peanuts when Mourinho showed up? I think winning the Champions League with Benni McCarthy as one of your lead strikers is an achievement in itself. Also, outside of Deco and the one's who followed Mourinho to Chelsea, how many of that squad actually achieved anything after 2005?

Why would you take that job? Just seems to end up in handcuffs

It wouldn't be a minute though. It's certainly not always that quick in rugby or cricket. They watch the replays over and over, from different angles, rewinding and fastforwarding. It's nauseating. In football there's so much stuff that's down to interpretation, the video ref would be on for fucking ever. So you're then at the point where you probably have to take timekeeping out of the referee's hands and pause the clock. Which is a huge and fundamental change to the sport. I'm 100% against it. The only other thing I could possible see it at some point maybe working for is offsides, if they can develop a system which calls them immediately like they do for goal line stuff. It used to be much quicker and less used because they could only check the actual try itself, now they can go back to shit that happened 30 seconds and 7 phases earlier. It's all about balance, which the IRB fucked up on despite having it right.

KK did the under 21s on a caretaker basis for a game or two early on during his first stint as manager - talks about it in his book and wishing he could've used the chance to kidnap Fowler for us.

Not sure I agree, I don't understand why he didn't force it. He's 26, and it's a short career. especially with the euros coming up, sure he'd be an outside contender but another season like last one goal wise and he'd be in consideration for the squad. Then again do we need another player crying and moaning because he won't be getting a slightly larger sack of money each month? All credit to him for not acting so selfish. Hope he does well this season and in his career. he'll probably be off in jan anyway, somebody down near the bottom will be desperate enough with the new tv deal starting next season (i think) to pay whatever to get a goalscorer. On the flipside QPR will probably gamble keeping him and letting him walk for free to Spurs or wherever next year to keep him for an extra 6 months and in theory fire them into the Premier League.

That's so weird, just watched that film last night. Watched it on the weekend, never has a movie quote about prison rape been so apt
-
It was already clear, so many people are going to prison for this right? Not white collar resort prison, but federal pound me in the ass prison.
