Don't worry, Graham Carr is a talent spotting demi-god! We could get 5 Tiotes for 15 million!... (As long as Chris Hughton left behind his "Players Keegan had me scout" ringbinder when he was clearing out his office)
-
Danny Agger in serious injury concerns? In other breaking news the sky is blue, cows go moo and Mike Ashley is a cunt.
-
Yeah, because I can seriously see Redknapp hanging around when Dennis Wise walked in the door.

True, I think he should have waited with those commentaries. Unless he's spot on, such utterances are only going to destroy his reputation. And the drop could now be significant since the the transfers have yet to be concluded. MA could be liable to spend money just to prove KK wrong. Oh aye, like Ashley has run the club according to anything other than his own agenda these last three and a half years. And if you had any real feel for the history of our club, you'd know it would take more than KK having one pop at a discredited regime, based on bitter personal experience, to destroy his reputation up here. The truly alarming thing is that Llambias feels compelled to have a pop back. He doth protest too much... Been a supporter since 93, so I've been through some of the Keegen days. But since I'm a Norwegian and not a native supporter, my feelings are probably more connected to the club itself more than to specific persons. A Foreign Supporter... who became a fan in 1993 Do tell, what attracted you to the club?

Nolan never once played alongside Smith the season we went down, you utter mug. For a guy who is supposedly so poor and worthless, you'd think Kaka wouldn't have to make stuff up to prove his point.
-
How many Russian & Arab billionaires have O'Neill & KK worked for? I am thinking 1 in total. They both demanded big budgets from big clubs which they got - and then walked away from when they were asked to cut back to balance the books. There is no criticism here, just stating the facts. Please don't tell me you believe the bullshit about Keegan walking away because he wasn't given the 200 million he demanded so he could sign Beckham, Henry and Lampard.

Europe: would you take, er, 5th place right now?
Pandamninator replied to kirkwdavis2001's topic in Football
I didn't think about it as that controversial at the time, partly cos I still 'backed the English clubs in Europe'. However, looking back it was a fucking disgrace. No it wasn't. The only disgrace was that they let Everton in, despite their already being a precedent set in 2000 when Real Madrid finished 5th and won the Champions League. When that happened Zaragoza who finished 4th lost their Champions League place and were dumped into the UEFA Cup, with Real Madrid getting their Champions League spot. -
I didn't know getting blown out 3-1, then failing to score more then 1 goal at home against 10 men is now classified as "being robbed" And besides, they only got in the final in 2009 because Chelsea were robbed anyway. Getting denied 2 clear pens in the first leg late on, then having a goal disallowed wrongly late on in the 2nd leg which would have sent them through. Robbed. Would you say it was a "fucking disgrace"?

To be clearer, I laughed at those who thought it was a good idea. I don't think many LFC fans think getting Kenny in is a good idea, it's more something to chant that isn't straight up "fuck off Hodgson". Like you say, it would be a mental appointment. I don't imagine the owners would appoint him, but there's no way of knowing yet because they have zero track record to go on. What about their other Sports Franchises? The question is how transferable is that skill, and will they try to transfer more than is reasonable. Its managing a business, the same as any other sports team. You need the right Manager (CEO) to handle the business. Why is the current team/business failing? What can a new man do to correct that. How have they handled Boston, what did they do to turn that around? With all that said, I can't help but feel that Liverpool this season is a microcosm of Newcastle's tenure under Mike Ashley! So eerily similar. insofar as i know they used a lot of statistical analysis to make judgements for boston, whether they can use that for football lord knows They Chelsea'd their way to those two World Series, they just gave Theo Epstein a blank cheque book (They were right in the A-Rod sweepstakes till the last minute, and he ended up costing the Yankees 275 Million Dollars). Only one of their first choice batting line up was a Boston Draft pick and in the pitching staff, only their 6th guy in the rotation was a Red Sox product (and he only pitched 5 innings the entire season according to Wikipedia). Although Red Sox fans like to spread the myth they were like Oakland and moneyball'd their way to victory against those evil big spending Yankees.

He had no ligament or muscle injury, just a clean break in a good position (medically). Baring a mental problem I don't see any reason to worry, but obviously he'd have some kind of medical before any contract was signed. As well as that, this isn't 1992, this is a football world where the going price for James Milner is 25 million pounds and a player 12 months removed from being the PFA Young Player of the Year. 5 million dollars for a 23 year old French International, even one coming off a major leg injury is preety much an impossiblity (except for this case).

The thing with City is they had an opportunity to gain some goodwill. Sure, there would've always been their detractors due to the money, but there was a "right way to do it" If they built an exciting youthful team that played great football and (with Tottenham) broke open the old "Big 4" they would've generally been accepted. Chelsea weren't that, but at least they had the Special One who was worth the ticket price. Too many Barry's, Milner's, Lescott's and Adebayor's, not enough Silva's, Johnson's and Tevez's - players who aren't cunts and are actually worth the crazy money being thrown around (or in the case of Adam Johnson canny young signings).

Spunk 6 million on Alan Smith?

Tevez withdraws written transfer request
Pandamninator replied to dinotheprehistoricgeordie's topic in Football
Interesting that they say he is already the highest paid player in the club. Either the Yaya Toure figures that were bandied about by the press (220,000 pounds a week) were inflated, or Carlos Tevez is about to retire and buy himself half of Argentina. -
What i'd give for some reporter to have just 30 minutes off the record with Keegan to talk about what happened during his latest stint as a manager and to sneak a tape recorder in. He hinted at it during that video, but probably doesn't even begin to scratch the surface of what he could he really talk about.

I beg your pardon!? Let's just keep it at piss, OK? We should be charitable and offer him jizz as a possible substitute. All of us? We gotta get the quantities of piss and jizz even, so either oldtype's about to be one busy solider with a very sore hand or were gonna all have to chip in to speed up the process.

Jesus Allah Christ, get your fucking facts straight. Everyone knows he wanted to sign Lampard, Beckham and Henry . [/Mike Ashley Leaked Bullshit] He had Owen scoring goals again, while also using a system that had all 3 (Viduka, Martins and Owen) strikers functioning and playing attacking football with a Geremi, Butt and Barton midfield. Silly Scousers who are still pining after a failing Rafa can be damned.

It's all good... I'll just tell myself that it's Alan Pardews fault... THE ARSEHOLE

**Now the pricks at N-O have removed it too ** Too bad the pricks at Youtube removed it so more people can't see it.

http://www.threadbombing.com/data/media/2/didnt_read_lol.gif It maybe because it's nearly 1 o'clock in the morning, but that wall of text hurt my eyes just trying to read the first line. Paragraphs peoples, PARAGRAPHS.

Its welll known that Charlton fans Hate Pardew, Its only because he is not Alan Curbishley! And here was I thinking it was because he got them relegated from Premiership, then left them dead bottom of the Championship?
-
As if Hughton could've signed anyone better then James Perch and Leon Best anyway, he probably had to beg and plead for the (relativley) pitiful amounts to get those two anyway.

But think about the consequences!!11!!! Didn't need to be Golfmag to predict you'd dig that one up again for the 37th time. Difference between Ashley and Shepherd: the latter was vulnerable to attacks on his finances. Hell, one chant of "sack the board" and he'd run off and blow loads of money we didn't have on a Luque or Owen. Protest, as you correctly pointed out earlier, is unlikely to affect Ashley's actions in any way whatsoever. Not THAT hard to understand, is it? I'll dig it up every time I see you hypocritically telling people they shouldn't protest because protesting is bad and will have dire consequences. You encouraged protesting against Shepherd during games or boycotting games altogether despite acknowledging any reduction in income would directly affect the club negatively. You thought exposing FIFA corruption before the WC vote was the right thing to do in spite of the threat of losing votes. But you don't think anyone should air their anger at Ashley for sacking "a great young manager" - your words last month - for fear of the consequences despite acknowledging any reduction in income will have little effect on how he runs the club or any decision to sell? That's pretty hard to understand. It's almost as if you just don't want people to protest against Ashley and are using a false argument you don't believe to try and scare or guilt people out of it as you know you're not going to get anywhere arguing against protesting on any other grounds. No hypocrisy on my part, chum. I thought protest would have a positive outcome re. Freddie, and I don't believe that to be the case with Ashley. You're making out that any protest against anything is exactly the same, that if you approve of protest in one circumstance then you have to approve of protest whenever it is likely to occur. Anyone with half a brain can see that's nothing but the purest bollocks. Your habit of continually quoting my four-year-old post out of context demonstrates nothing except the fact that you're either a fucking moron, or a hypocrite yourself. Now why don't you run along and try to interpret set of accounts. We could all use a good laugh at the moment. Were laughing at you still trying to hitch your raft onto the S.S. Ashley, despite the fact it has hit an iceberg, caught on fire and been torpedoed by a North Korean Sub, your still on the deck, trying to bail water out with a coke can.

It's part of the plan to "challenge for everything" (their words, not mine) within the next 5 years.
