Wolves really is an atrocious away day. It's a perfectly OK town with a ground pretty much in the centre so should be great. But every single pub (apart from 1 hidden away from the centre) is shut off completely to away fans. Needlessly hostile, and unnecessary, and makes for a shite pre-game experience. Then when you're in the ground the away atmosphere is pish because of how stretched out the support is on that lower tier. Very poor noise from our fans yesterday - but the circumstances basically kill it as an experience allround. When you add in what an arse it is to get to the Midlands from Newcastle - it's not an away game I'll ever be doing again. Thankfully I spent the morning in Birmingham before heading through - and would probably recommend anybody ever going to do the same. Would have been mortified if we hadn't have got the draw.

Eddie confirming we pivoted based on Wilson's injury. I imagine we were looking at two cash buys before this. But obviously this deal was always on the backburner. Perhaps Miggy's form changed our focus slightly too. In a lot of ways it's probably a good thing the injury to Wilson has happened as early as it did.

I think Diaby will be a goer in January btw if we haven't bought a winger by then. Once the CL group stages and World Cup are out of the way a move will be far more likely.

He fits West Ham's team more clearly as they play with a solid double pivot and a 4-2-3-1. From what I've seen I think he could have played in our team too but there would definitely be slightly more doubt about him fitting a midfield 3 in the PL. I'm delighted we've got Isak but I still think we need either a winger or a midfielder with creative or goalscoring output. Not sure whether we'll be spending anymore hard cash so hope we can pull off somebody like Gallagher or Pulisic on a loan-to-buy.

I think Pedro deal might be on ice now. We have a centre forward - so pressure isn't on. But he's a potential wide option too due to versatility - so we might pull the trigger still if other wide options don't materialise.

He's really not my kind of defender and I don't really rate him at PL level but I thoroughly enjoyed his performance last night. Seemed to embrace the occasion and front up their physicality.

I've been a defender of Longstaff for a long time but I think last night was the worst he's played in ages - considering the standard of opposition.

Not to sound like a spoilt brat, but this window has been absolutely exasperating like. I am genuinely worried that we're being stubborn in the extreme and relying a little too much on things 'falling' for us in the week that is left.

Everton will potentially offer higher wages and guarenteed starts. Don't think it's unreasonable at all that he may go there instead. They signed Onana ahead of West Ham in the same manner.

If we want another creative player too (winger or midfielder) then we're not going to be able to sign a 'top' forward to replace Wilson. The likes of Osimhen and Isak will cost upwards of £60 million+. It just isn't feasible at this point in time. Even young prospects in forward areas are going to cost us £25-30 million. I'm fine with Pedro as his backup despite his goal record. It's not likes he's a kid who has never played a game. He's had 2.5 years regular football in England. I'm sure he can come into the side and contribute very positively to our system.
