Beat Watford in the League Cup under Roeder, struggling to think of many more competitive wins on penalties. Yep. According to .com we've played 9 competitively and that's the only win. 04.11.1971 Pecsi Dozsa - Fairs Cup (McFaul) 05.09.1979 mackems - League Cup (Hardwick) 22.01.1992 Bournemouth - FA Cup (Srnicek) 17.01.1996 Chelsea - FA Cup (Srnicek) 11.11.1998 Blackburn - League Cup (Given) 06.11.2002 Everton - League Cup (Harper) 27.08.2003 Partizan Belgrade - CL Qual (Given) 08.11.2006 Watford - Carling Cup (Harper) 30.11.2016 Hull - EFL Cup (Sels) Then England: West Germany 1990 Spain 1996 Germany 1996 Belgium 1998 (King Hassan Cup) Argentina 1998 Portugal 2004 Portugal 2006 Italy 2012 So 2 out of 17 between England and NUFC. Almost impossible statistics, failure stretching across various different squads/generations.

There's probably a lot of rose tinted specs when thinking back to that season though. Looking retrospectively at results there was a major mid-season struggle, sandwiched between the ridiculous start and strong finish. I mean they finished on 6 fewer points than Hughton's side. Is the 1st division weaker now than it was then?

Leipzig is full of fascists. Birmingham > Leipzig

Armstrong doesn't get involved enough to be a Bellamy type but doesn't really have that poachers movement either. Bit of a conundrum because hes got pace and talent as he's proven with some of the goals and assists he's had over the last 18 months.

Most are piss easy, there's about 5-6 obscure ones you can suss out. You can also skip them and come back later.

Some of the players i've seen pop up in the Championship this season I'm afraid to rule it out -

As long as they don't have Graham Fenton, Gamst Pedersen or Jason Roberts lining up we'll batter them. -
I'm back in all for Rafa, really. He deserves it for giving this to us. Also accepted that my current enjoyment is extremely precarious as its entirely dependent on him hanging around; there's no greater structure in place behind him, it's all still Ashley. His exit would probably kill me off football for good.

He's quite ok technically at this level but the major problem is that he's too one paced. Wullie is right about him never being involved for even a play off chasing side should have been a worry. Was very glad we never went near him.
-
It's beautiful the fact that he has managed to gradually undo all of Pulis' coaching and make them both susceptible and impotent from set pieces.

Taking him back Fuck the twat. We can get better in the summer.

Staggering stuff this. Has to be on the wind up.

Intelligent lad. Cracking player, too.
