The Managerial Merry Go Roundâ„¢ - Ivan Juric to Southampton
Interpolic replied to cp40's topic in Football
Nigel Clough? -
Too good to be true. Was very surprised by a chat I had with a QPR fan the other week. Says he's shite and he hopes they sell him now for OK money. Said he'd had a real purple patch in terms of his finishing but his all-round game is terrible and he's not worth bothering with. Told him I was surprised as I liked him from what I've seen but he honestly reckons he's shite. Maybe he's wrong but I'm inclined to believe people who watch it every week these days and he was pretty adamant.
-
It's just his latest soundbite, a la "I take the message and will therefore sell the club", "We can challenge the Manchester Uniteds of this world", "We're undertaking the Aston Villa model", "Hang on, it's now the Arsenal model", "The club needs to wipe its own nose", "I will put no more than 20 million pounds a season in" etc. Paraphrasing there but he obviously thinks we're thick if the idea is to pop up every now and then with this shite and have any fan with half a brain believe him.

Aye that was spot-on. It was all pure gold. "Won't leave until we win something". Unsurprisingly Craig didn't ask re his rationale. Whole thing was a fucking joke.
-
Exactly. There is not one iota of doubt. If you actually listen to the content of the interview there's less doubt than ever. "My door" followed by "I won't choose the next manager, that's not what I do". The guy's a manipulative, money-grabbing arsehole and it's never been clearer.

This summer's the real test IMO, or if the deals aren't there then we should see what happens in January. The ship's sailed man, they're completely correct to slaughter him in the manner they have done. They're a protest group called Ashley Out, not Please Change The Way You've Run The Club Ashley, We Have Full Faith In Your Intentions For Doing So.

Aye, never in doubt. Only thing is I don't think they will ever officially announce it. Decent shout, they did that with Hughton until he did well enough to warrant the gig permanently.
-
Fucking savage, that. Fair play to them.
-
Look again.

Watching it again. "I will continue in the policy of investing in this football club". Absolutely shameless spreading of well known misconceptions in the media. PRICK.

Newcastle United 2-0 West Ham - SUPER SUNDAhaha - 24/5/15

I thought I was the only one who noticed. Players wanted fuck-all to do with him and struggled to hide it, even in such a high profile situation in public. Was class. Daft cunt. -
Yep, he's done the one thing he didn't want to do, doubtless on the advice of Keith Bishop in the hope it will make him appear human/genuine. Actually think the vast majority will see straight through it. It's definitely a goal for AO rather than the other way around.

Noticed quite a few players blanking Carver yesterday. -
Well fucking aye. That's obvious to everyone but madras and his mates at the match.
-
Wow, there are people double your age that don't understand that's what he was doing. Ah, kids these days.
-
But he did a telly interview, Loki. Fucking #wait FFS
-
But what if it's not that simple? What if we've been wrong all along? What if we spend the money differently? Said nee fucker, ever. Jesus.
-
So he's going to change then, you reckon. Not like you to play the Devil's advocate mate. Not saying he will, I think it's a better chance than him selling up, probably at a loss, to someobody who'll give us what we want. It sounds like it's completely pointless you even posting about the subject tbh. Ashley could get £250-300m for the club today, tomorrow or any time in the future. It's that simple. He doesn't want to sell, it's been a beneficial venture for him. He will never change his approach to the running of the club in the way you're suggesting. It will always be run at the bare minimum cost. We might see more money spent this summer because he's let the club slide into this state. That's all it is though. It's necessary because we might get relegated otherwise. If you think there'll be a change in his outlook this summer and beyond, whatever your reasons, then you're a complete and utter muppet. FWIW I'm not suggesting he spends his money, just that the money, when spent, is spent differently. madras, this is embarrassing mate seriously. Not even sure I can be arsed to take the p*ss any longer. Don't then, do something else. You'd love that, then there'd be one less person objecting to your "I'm geet clever, I see beyond what others see" routine that is your entire existence as a poster here. I don't think you even know your own opinion, you just want to challenge the common consensus because it makes you feel clever. So nar, I'll not do something else thanks. I'll chat on here about NUFC and other stuff in a sensible way that doesn't involve being a contrary dickhead for the sake of it. "I'd love it" god man give your self a shake, someone doesn't agree with you, get over it. No need to make it personal. You tart! You're making it personal saying that tbh. I don't really give a s***, I'm saying it like it is. You would love it. You would love everyone to gan on like you weren't a total gobshite as used to be the case before you got found out and disappeared. After what you put, fucking hell. Can't be arsed to argue the toss. Sorry if I upset you bbz.

Not a fucking chance.

When he firtst cvame he did spend, barton, smith, coloccini, I'd like to see us spend on players to benefit the team (buy some players at their value rather than just a "we can sell them for more" attitude). What's your alternative beyond sell us to a sheikh ? He signed Coloccini in the same summer he sold Milner and signed Xisco/Nacho. Fancy trying again, do another post that adds up?
-
Exactly, but actually he might spend the money differently Disco.
