I’ve said it before, but the fact that a week or so before our takeover their fans were seen pictured outside their own stadium (and alongside their official supporters club) holding a banner up saying refugees are not welcome, just shows that they have actual little regard for the human cost of wars. No doubt right now many of them are having conversations in their own homes about how no Ukrainian should be allowed in and we should send them back and force them to fight for their own country. The situation with them in regards to us is always an exception if they need it to be.

I did the predictor last week. I had us finishing on 35 points, Burnley above us on 36, Everton went down with 29 points. I tried to be as realistic as possible.

This is people were happy to have a go at us for taking in Saudi money, yet over the last few days people have been calling for PIF to buy Chelsea and sell us. They have even been tweeting another Saudi Prince to buy them. In all honesty I’m a bit tired of football fans being the ones asked to make a stand, and I don’t just mean us. It always seems to be on football fans, from us being asked to walk away from our club because of our owners (whilst our government sells our owners the weapons for their wars), to football fans being the ones asked to take a stand against racism and other forms of bigotry whilst the rest of the population stands by and does fuck, and our governments and official agency who do have control over issues stand by and do the finger pointing. I’m not saying these things are right, they clearly aren’t, but it is football fans who seem to be the only ones who are asked or even required to actually take a stand.

We get the chance to drag it out for a year and a half hoping the new owner just loses interest. Unsure if this applies for takeovers of other already rich clubs though.

I think he’s a canny guy, he has clearly taken inspiration early on from the True Geordie. I can’t dislike him, I think he’s just someone who has little else in life but his football club, has invested so much into it and recent years he’s suffered. He doesn’t come across as the brightest person, but he does seem harmless and actually a decent guy.

He’s obviously been pushed and regardless of if he’s going to cash in whilst he can, he knows sooner or later his hands are going to be tied and that he won’t be able to spend money. I’m guessing he’s also hoping that by doing this and using the words he has said, that he’ll walk away from any asset holding that may come his way.

It needs to be a Leicester win tonight. If as the season comes to and end and we are safe then we start looking for results with teams above us to go our way, right now we need the teams below us getting the minimum amount of points as possible.

Pretty sure Usmanov’s company is the one bankrolling and sponsoring their new stadium.

I just think with the games we have left and the points gap, assuming other teams also win a fair share of games then it will be too much. I think another 12 points will be enough to keep us up and I think that is a reasonable target with our fixtures left, I also think that it could give us a fairly decent finishing position.

Villa Park has a road going under one of their stands doesn’t it? Spurs’ new stadium has a car park underneath it. Also those barriers are designed to stop a truck.

We aren’t finishing top half, and I’d be surprised if we finish higher than we are.
