On the Wembley debate. I think it was a mistake to build it. For someone outside of London, or a considerable distance away, it is often cheaper to go abroad and watch a game there then it is to travel to London for the night. On top of this the whole, it being in London just typifies the attitude of this country, where nothing matters unless it’s London. You are either in it, want to be in it, or aren’t a part of it, save for the token gestures thrown to Manchester (which is now the whole North). The stadium was built on debt when the FA could have and should have just used their money for giving ground updates to clubs to increase their facilities. Most countries are fine having domestic cups and the national team plying around the country, in fact in recent years we have done the exact same thing against smaller nations in medium sized stadiums. We have got to the point now where football events have had to be rescheduled in place of other events to be hosted at Wembley, in order for Wembley to pay it’s own cost off.

Assuming results against Burnley go well, would we be mathematically safe with a win tomorrow and on Wednesday?

Can’t do it. Everything now has to go to the Premier League before any announcements. Apparently we were good to go for new deals in December, so there is a huge chance that the Premier League have left it sit on the desk for the last 4 months or rejected those deals and behind the scenes the club is appealing that. There is no chance FUN 88 will be staying after the end of their contract with us, which is supposed to end at the end of this season.

Be funny as fuck if they announce a manager who gives them a bounce and keeps them up and sends Everton down.
-
Possibly, I didn’t realise that Fulham had played so few games.

It was my 1st week or so back at work after shielding. My mate text me to tell me and I saw the press release and I knew straight away that they hadn’t told walked away and they were trying to play the Premier Leagues hand.
-
I think they have got fed up of not winning the Champions League. They thought it would be easy to do so, but all the best players and win it, yet never did. They have long been interested in Leeds, I wonder if they would try and buy them instead?

It’s pandering to an American audience who is used to a countdown timer in their sports, because they are too fucking stupid to add up how much time is left. Next up, time outs.
-
Yeah, they are not down yet, but they are getting close. Everton are catchable for them, but we should be too far away now, especially if we get a few more points onboard.
-
Nah, let them win towards the end of the season when we are safe.

I think there is a problem within football at the moment, in particular with away fans. Our own fans are not an exception, the Wigan incident and smashing up a service station being notable incidents in recent years.

I still think another 3 points and we’ll be safe. We are possibly safe already. We have home games against Leicester (who are nowhere near the same Leicester over the last 7 seasons or so, and will be tired after playing 2 games before they play us) and Palace, who will likely be heading towards their end of season holiday mode. On top of that we will have an away game against Norwich who even for them, have been fucking shit this season. 2-3 points out of our home games would be fairly acceptable and a decent target, and we should be aiming for 3 points against Norwich. There is also the off chance that we could pinch a point or so from the games against Arsenal, Man City, and Liverpool. Arsenal can blow cold at times, and one of Man City or Liverpool will have to drop points in the title race. There is no reason that we can’t be the team where they do and the title is decided. If all else fails, we would still likely have the opportunity to do it ourselves on the last day, although no one wants for us to have to rely on that.

I can get that you don’t like Maddison, some of their players, and even their manager. They aren’t a horrible club or a horrible city though. Admittedly I have only been there for a match, but everyone was so welcoming. I don’t think their fans have got carried away with their title win or ability to be at the top end of the table instead of relegation struggles. They are still humble.
-
Man Utd really do exist to piss off football fans.
-
Assuming it goes to the final day of the season and they go down, they are away to Arsenal. I can’t see the Arsenal fans making any sort of noise/atmosphere at all, they are so placid.
-
In my 1st year of supporting us where I was able to look at the table and determine the meaning of it, I was wanting West Ham to go down. That is when they went down with a record points total. A year or so later I wanted Leeds to go down when they were in trouble, I was disappointed they got a result against Arsenal the season before to stay up. I also wanted them down when they were in trouble in the Championship. Villa I wanted down and we all saw it coming for a few years.

People can call him out for his ability or performances, but calling him out for getting that penalty, fuck off. It was penalty, it didn’t even look like a dive, and to be honest I feel like if had avoided it, he would have ended up with either the ball going out of play or at the wrong angle to be able to do anything. The only person there needing to be blamed for the penalty is their keeper and further to that, their defence who allowed him into a 1 v 1 situation. Had that situation occurred at the other end, the Wolves players would have done the same thing and they alongside the Wolves fans would have had no guilt. Remember, referee’s like to make the ‘intent’ excuse to excuse their favoured teams for getting soft penalties/dives, so why not also benefit from the fact that the keeper intended to bring him. It was so much of a stonewall penalty, that if this happened before the double jeopardy rule came into force, then their keeper would have been at risk of getting a red card, I’m not sure how he avoided a yellow card in all honesty.

I know we all know that this squad is still weak, but this result shows that despite our recent good performances, there is still a lot of players in this squad who are not good enough. I also believe it shows that our squad mentality is still quite weak. Conceding an equaliser just after going ahead is a bad sign, but conceding 2 goals right after each other twice later in the game just highlights that even if this team is not good enough to win or draw games, they are still mentally weak enough to allow themselves to be walked over and heavily beaten. We need to invest heavily in the squad in the summer, and yes we may have good players in a couple of positions, but we may still not have good enough quality in back up positions and we only have a couple of players of any really quality who we can use going forward.

Imagine thinking you would priest an ownership group because of what they do in a far away land according to their religion when they make your club the richest sporting team in the world. As well as investing in your city/region which has been starved of adequate investment for decades and promises to bring jobs to the area.
-
I hope we keep up our record of never losing in their new stadium. A draw would be a very good result, especially if West Ham beat Everton earlier on.

But this is how their argument has always fallen down. So they care about human rights because they protest against our owners, except when it’s BAME people and they bew the taking a knee gesture. Except when it’s refugees from war torn countries and they hold up banners outside their ground saying they are not welcome here. Except when it’s LBGT people and they take the piss and don’t agree with pride events. Except when it’s women and they are misogynist as fuck. But don’t let that distract you from the fact that they care passionately about the human rights issues in Saudi Arabian and the conflict they have with terrorist groups in Yemen, and they always have cared about it, since October 2021.

Aye, parents would have been asked/forced to have paid for the bus fair of their kids.

There is fight left in this Watford squad, I don’t think they are down yet.

Can’t wait to play Canada in either the semi’s or final.
